I’m jumping into this event too, I’ve always missed it. I am getting a little tired of my perfect rockets being beaten by blue ones, but whatever. The song scared and elated me when I first did it, so very cool.
Good way to grab easy marks on alts, too. Plus it’s actually nice not having to shoot things for a change.

Forum ribbons are added automatically for the type of captain, fleet status and so on I guess. What about the others, for accolades etc? Do they need some sort of separate application?

You’ll have to wait to move fleets. You can ask to be invited to the Starbase/spire/mine/colony/wherever and someone will let you into the shopping mall, though.

There have been 48 hour periods where I couldn’t authenticate at all. There have been other times where I could log in but not chat or move. There is sometimes a lot of rubberbanding. The last week or so has been alright.
Last night I was a little bit laggy but nothing game-breaking. It varies wildly.
