Our rules allow anyone ranked at Commander to put 2 characters in 44th Fleet, 3 in 44th Delta Fleet, and an unlimited number (within reason) in 44th Gamma Fleet.

Simply ask an Admiral to help you move when you’re online.  If none are on, posting here on the forums or asking on discord are also very valid options.

44th Fleet’s holdings are all fully upgraded.  44th Delta Fleet’s are as well.  44th Gamma Fleet’s starbase and colony world are at tier 4 (max is tier 5), but otherwise is also set.  Also, since we regularly clear inactive members (characters that haven’t been logged on in a year or more), we actually have more room in 44th and Delta than we do in Gamma, so to anyone reading this:  please take advantage of the move.   Your Fleet Credits will stay with you (they’re a currency earned by your character.  they don’t go away because you change fleets).  You will be promoted back up to your rank with us (as far as we’re concerned, it’s the player that gets the rank, not the character….so all of your characters should share the same rank).  The only thing that you lose is your “overall holding contribution” stat, and we really don’t care about that.

With all that in mind, clear some spots in Gamma Fleet for a new member…or for an existing member’s alts 🙂

    lookin good akula

the one thing i’d edit is the wording on the borg event announcement.

saying it’s the “final event campaign” could be misleading.  i’m sure we’ll have more events and more campaigns for those events in the future.  it is, however, the final campaign for this particular free t6 coupon event.

otherwise, top notch as always 🙂

Another piece of advice that i’d give to newish players…heck, any players at all, really. i’m afraid it might come too late in this instance to be of much help tho.

lockboxes are random, with a very low chance to give you a ship. iirc, it’s like 1 ship for 200-300 lockbox opens. of course, Cryptic haven’t given us this information. it’s been tested out by the community. at their expense. i’d assume the chances for an r&d promo pack to give a ship might be about similar, but again have no official confirmation/denial of this.

of course, you could have insane luck and get what you want on your first handful of boxes opened. but if not, the contents of especially r&d promo boxes are fairly worthless. i mean, yeah you get 10 lobi guaranteed…but crafting mats are generally low-value. lockboxes will give at least 4 lobi, with a chance at a lot more, as well as various other stuffs you can sell to at least minimize any losses incurred.

the safe bet is always to buy the ship(s) you want on the exchange. if you want to spend zen, you can buy lockbox keys or fleet ship modules (or doffs, i guess) and sell them on the exchange for credits. (after using some zen to get the ec cap increaser so you can hold your profits)

in reply to: Discovery Ships #425507

first, the ec cap increase is a 500 zen (5 USD, or less than 4 pounds sterling) purchase that takes your ec cap per character from 15,000,000 up to 2,000,000,000. it’s absolutely recommended. if you can only ever get one thing from the c-store, get that. don’t forget that refined dilithium can be exchanged for zen. as a fleet member, the fleet dil mine has a daily 5-10s long mission that allows you to refine an extra 500 dil/day. that takes you up to a possible 8500 dil refined per day per character. the value in zen will vary based upon the dilithium exchange prices, but at current prices, that works out to about 20 zen/character/day.

second, STO is about the long game.

third, the cheapest disco connie on the exchange is 1.07b ec. if you maxed out your ec daily and paid a benefactor, it’d still take about 72 days to match the cost. the cheapest crossfield is better, at 488m. at 15m/day, it still comes in at 33 days. if you absolutely need to have a disco ship for whatever reason, you might consider the Buran (c-store), Gagarin (c-store), or Walker (the Shenzhou is a Walker) (203m on exchange or 900 lobi). Or the Fleet version of the buran or gagarin, which will cost you 20k fleet credits and 5 fleet ship modules (which you can earn 1 of for each reputation you get to t6, or buy on the exchange for about 13.5m a piece currently).

I’m working on being able to afford a disco connie and/or various other ships for myself, but i’m afraid i can’t yet. So i can’t really help with anything but advice right now.

    but

    but

    but

    the game IS the grind.

as for what you’ve missed, 44th has grown beyond all expectations: like damix said, we’ve got 3 fed fleets now, and are coming to a point where we may even need another.

game-wise, everyone can use jem’hadar and romulan ships now. fed-aligned jems and roms can use most fed ships. kdf aligned jems and roms can use most kdf ships.
Damix mentioned admiralty: it’s basically doff missions for your ships. but sometimes the game has issues with actually giving you a ship card when you claim a ship from the c-store. if you don’t get one, dismiss and reclaim ship.

Endeavors. i strongly suspect that endeavors weren’t a thing when you were last around. Universal Endeavors are endeavors that everyone in the game has at the same time. they’re available for like 3 days, and then a new one comes around. they can reward dil, ec, r&d materials, and marks. This stuff.

and then, there are personal endeavors. they last one day, and then they’re replaced with new ones. they’re independent per account. so you and i will probably have a different set every day. if you have reroll tokens (awarded by completing personal endeavors sometimes) you can change which ones you have to do. they give endeavor xp. every time you get 20k endeavor xp, you get a perk. the game randomly selects 3 choices from the list of perks, and you get to choose which one to put your perk into. they’re basically bonus account-wide stats. space energy weapon damage %. space shield hardness %. damage resist sets. ground crit chance %. etc etc etc. oh, and they’ll also give you ec, dil, reroll tokens, r&d mats, etc.

so my view is that it’s potentially lucrative but unimportant to do the universal endeavor. it’s very important to do the personal endeavors as you can, because they’ll make you stronger. you don’t have to complete them all on the same character. for example, right now my 3 are:
    Defeat Tholians (Ground)
    (10)
    Phaser Damage (Ground)
    (10,000)
    Defeat Voth – Ground Battlezone
    (60)
so i could kill tholians with a phaser weapon on one character and get the first two done, then swap to another character and kill my 60 voth for the last. but partial progress doesn’t transfer. i can’t kill tholians with a phaser on one character but only do 5000 phaser damage then charswap and finish phaser on the voth. (well, i’m sure you’d get more than 10k damage out of 60 voth. but the point is you have to do all 10k without credit for the 5k you did on another character)

    >.> i think that’s about it. it’s not a super hard to figure out system.

they just added an events tab to the mission journal.

Make sure you grab your admiralty card for the U.S.S. Sally Ride outside the Narendra system.

I’m sure there are other things, but they’re not popping into my brain right this moment. Feel free to ask any questions you have here, ingame, or in our discord. the only dumb question is one that you don’t know the answer to and don’t ask 🙂

Rom ships can be awesome. Certainly, they’re some of the better looking ships in the game.

That said, keep in mind that singularity cores don’t put out as much power as warp cores (i guess. somehow.), and so instead of 200 power to allocate among your subsystems (like you find on fed/kdf ships), you have 160. So you’ll have to find some way of mitigating your lower power levels.

Also keep in mind that, like all Fleet ships, rom fleet ships do not have unlockable starship traits. have to get the c-store version to unlock those.

And the dreadnoughts are awesome, assuming you mean the t6 scimitar variants. totally my favorites (barring valkis, of course). they also all have single hangar bays. and owning one allows you to buy the elite drone ship frigates. which are awesome. but they come at fleet grade from the c-store. no need to buy a fleet version, because they’re already there. all the ships that come in 3-variant packs are.

    have a good move, Jens!

as marcase said, 44th members are 44th members for life, unless they are removed for doing something truly terrible or against the rules.
characters aren’t removed from the fleet(s) unless they’re inactive for a year or more. (unless, i guess, we get a huge recruitment boom and desperately need space and change the rules)
if you’re out that long somehow and come back and find that your character(s) isn’t(aren’t) in the fleet any longer, talk to an admiral for a reinvite. 🙂

As always, fleet members are members for life (unless removed for something truly terrible), so anyone who has had characters removed is still a member of 44th Fleet, and can have characters reinvited to the fleet (as allowed for by our character limits. as of now, those limits are 2 characters in 44th Fleet, 3 in 44th Delta Fleet, and an unlimited number of characters in 44th Gamma Fleet.) merely by speaking with one of the Admiralty.

We’ve all taken breaks in games. We’ve all quit games. There is no ill-will here. If members return to the game and wish to return to the fleet, they’re more than welcome to do so.

And if you find that one or more of your characters is in the “Close” list, log it into the game to remove it from the list.  As long as it’s been logged in this year, it (probably) won’t be removed. unless you’re exceeding our current character/fleet limits.

    it depends 😀

The Lukari Ho’kuun is the space dorito.  it’s a pretty good science ship. maneuverable and fast.

The Krenim Science Vessel is also a science ship, but less maneuverable than the space dorito.  the torp launcher that comes with it is also a part of the chronometric calculations set, which enables you to get the 4 piece set bonus.  so if you use that set already and want it to be stronger, take that into consideration. even if you don’t actually end up using the ship itself.

otherwise, none of them are science ships or have really great sci consoles, as far as i know.  even the D.O.M.I.N.O. isn’t great for science ships, since it only boosts phaser (passively) and “weapon damage” more generally (actively).

If you want to consider a ship for other reasons, i’m sure i’m well-documented as having a Ferengi ship on all the characters i actually play, because the ferengi bridge gives you access to bank/exchange/mail from wherever.  just pop onto your bridge, and it’s right behind you :D.  that said, you can get a ferengi d’kora (t5-t5u) from the exchange very cheaply if that’s all you want it for.  so i probably wouldn’t recommend picking up a nandi warship unless you also intended to use it.

also, keep in mind that using a phoenix token doesn’t unlock the ship account-wide from the event store.  it just gives you a box with a single instance of that ship and whatever comes with it (console, weapon, etc).  further, the phoenix store is available all the time, so long as you have a token to open it.  and the tokens can be transferred between characters on your account.  you could hang onto the token and see if they add something else from events that you didn’t get and want.  or wait till you have a character that you want to have a ship from the phoenix store. say, if you decide to make a tac alt and want to get it the bajoran interceptor and domino (and bajor defense warp core/singularity core):D.  so anyway, no rush to use the token immediately if nothing in there takes your fancy.

You can get fleet modules from t6 reputation for 100 marks if you haven’t done this already before.

aren’t they a one time mission?

yeah, once per rep you get to t6, for one fsm each.  so you can get 13? of them that way now i think?  so it’s nice, and depending on how many fleet ships you actually need, can be all you do.

if you still need ec, there are ways.  you can do Tour The Galaxy daily…if you can finish it, it’s like 950k for 15 min of “work”.  if you can craft, you can make stuff to sell on the exchange.  my preference is for tech upgrades, but ymmv.

also, don’t forget you can convert refined dilithium to zen.  so that’s a third way you can get fsm’s without any actual cash changing hands.

edit: oh, also don’t forget that if you own the c-store version of a fleet ship, the fleet ship gets discounted to 1 fsm instead of 5.

when STO says something is a “command battlecruiser” or “intel escort” or “temporal warship”, what STO means is that this ship will have command/intel/temporal abilities and have at least one specialist boff seat in that specialty.

what it doesn’t mean is “the player has to use that specialty with this ship,” or even “the player is best using this specialty on this ship”

personally, my main uses miracle worker/pilot.  extra survivability and turn rate, the ability to crit on heals, pretty nice active abilities.
