As long as they share a damage type, so that the specialized tac consoles work. Like yeah, have a nausican beam along with the Terran task force disruptor, a couple coalition disruptors, the house of martok Omni, and other disruptors. But not an ap beam, and a disruptor, and a phaser, and a couple polarons. The specialized damage type tac consoles give a higher damage boost than the generalized [beam] consoles, so you’ll do better.
That doesn’t mean it can’t be made to work, though. Just that it works better with energy weapons that share a damage type.

eew, TOS fans, insisting that connies and nx’s should be t6. THEY SHOULDN’T! but they are so whatevs. me being mad about it won’t change it. heh. anyway, welcome aboard! 😀
😁 happy to have pointed it out, then. Someone in fleet does have one, but I can’t remember off hand who it is. If we can figure out who it is, maybe you can get a closer look at it if you want and ask.
Or, I’ll bet stounrefined on YouTube has an aesthetics review of it somewhere in his catalog.
Really, if you hate how your ship looks, but like how it works, you probably won’t feel a drive to play it. Aesthetics are important.
i dunno how i feel, really.
background: i got the jem HEC from the lockbox for many many keys, and also the t5u jhdc for lobi, so 80-90 boxes worth of lobi. so if i got the hec within those 90 boxes, then i’ve spent at least $90 just on the two of those. and now they’re being turned into c-store ships. i kinda feel like they should do something for me and those like me, but know they’re well within their rights to not do so. it just feels a bit…uncool, if you get me. also, i don’t even know what i want them to do. refund me 90 keys on my purchase of the pack? i mean, that’d be nice. let me pick some other t5u lockbox and lobi ships to replace them? yeah, maybe.
otherwise, i dunno. i might pick it up at some point. will have to see how my finances line up with it’s availability 😀
depends on your playstyle and preferences, really
if you’re fed, like damix mentions, i’d consider the prototype dreadnought cruiser, because it comes with the dynamic power redistributor console. it’s the only way to get this console if you’re fed. then, i’d go one further and pick up another piece of the synergistic retrofitting set on the exchange (they’re sold in faction-specific boxes. make sure you get the fed box) for the two piece set bonus, which is +33% phaser, plasma, and disruptor damage. that’s on top of the +17.8% directed energy damage on the dynamic power redistributor console, and the frankly amazing click ability on the same console. huge damage resistance, 500% hull regen per min for 20s, and a further 40% damage bonus for the duration as long as your hull is above 80%. so massive healing and massive damage boost in the same click ability. awesome. the boxes on the exchange are like 9-10m ec, so i got both the dynamic power redistributor module and the disruption pulse emitter for my rom character. highly recommended, even if you never use the ship itself.
if you have a jem bug (especially a t6 one), you might also be interested in the jhdc. if you also own a bug, you unlock bug frigates for your hangars, which are pretty stronk. if you have a t6 jem bug, the t5 heavy escort carrier, and also a jhdc, you also get all 3 dominion consoles, which give a +20% all damage set bonus at 3 pieces. it should be noted that the t5 bug doesn’t come with the console that comes with the t6. edit: it should also be mentioned that the t5u jhdc is coming to the new victory is life discount pack as an account-wide unlock…so maybe if you really want it, pick it up that way instead of with your lockbox open. all it’ll be missing is specialization seating, some hull strength, and the trait.
if you’re into science ships and also future ships, the new temporal science vessels are pretty neato looking…and, as we all know, space barbie is endgame. so if you like the look, you can make them pretty strong…though i probably wouldn’t use the mastery traits. the new consoles look pretty ok tho, if you can get at least a couple of them. (one comes with all the science ships, one comes with all the destroyers, and one comes with the paradox dread. both the destroyers and the dread are lobi ships, so 900 each, or you can probably get them on the exchange, but iunno how expensive they are)
the na’kuhl acheros is kinda neat, in that it’s a true battlecruiser (with a 5/3 weapon layout (looking at you, command battlecruisers. posers.)) with a built in battle cloak and a pretty nice boff layout.
if you’re really into connies, the kelvin timeline heavy command cruiser is a connie, though it does not REPEAT: DOES NOT come with the fantastic damage boosting console that the promotion connie does (ominous device: +20% all damage along with a click ability that makes enemies run away and take more damage and stuff), nor does it have the 5/3 weapons layout, or the molecular reconstruction powers. it does, however, have a really nice boff layout, in that you get 3 ltc slots (one of which is universal) and one comm slot, so you’ll be able to have 4 ltc abilities to call upon. and also, 4 tac console slots, for teh deeps.
beyond those tips, iunno what you should get. everything on there has something going for it. it’s just a matter of lining up that something with your playstyle and desires.

Para what combat log reader are you using? I have Advanced Combat Tracker and STO Combat Log Reader. But your looks really nice.
That’s STO Combat Meter https://dps.shivtr.com/pages/STOSCM
to get that window, there’s a button under the list of logged combats that says “Player Combat Analysis Reports”

alternatively, there’s a transwarp that takes you to defera instantly.

April 17, 2018 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Reduction in sector speed or equipment that increases it #204899eh, i guess ymmv :D. i haven’t noticed any difference, no…but whether that’s down to me not noticing a difference or there not being a difference is questionable. also, i guess i lied in my post. the multi-mission ships don’t have advanced slipstream, the odyssey variants do. will edit.
April 16, 2018 at 6:43 pm in reply to: Reduction in sector speed or equipment that increases it #204869other tour tips:
Odyssey variants (both t5 and t6) have advanced quantum slipstream drives (60s uptime with 2min cooldown), as do the veteran reward destroyers.
t5 multi-mission science ships’ console set two piece bonus upgrades multi-mission ships to have the same uptime and cooldown as advanced drives, but go slightly faster (25 unmodified vs 23), and also greatly increases turn rate while in slipstream.
The Risian Luxury Cruiser has a Solar Sail. it has the same slipstream uptime and cooldown as the advanced drive, but goes slightly slower (21 unmodified vs 23), and turns slightly faster (2 vs 1.5). oh, and supposedly also has no collision, so you won’t bounce off suns and planets (though i don’t know if that’s actually a thing or not for sure as i don’t have one myself).
The Experimental Science Vessel (Dauntless) has “Hyper-Advanced” quantum slipstream drives, which give the same uptime and cooldown and speed as advanced drives, but has 3 turn rate instead of 1.5
t6 miracle worker ships have cyclical quantum slipstream drives, which have the current longest slipstream duration and the current shortest slipstream cooldown, at 90s uptime with 30s cd. the cooldown can be halved by certain warp cores to 15s.
Assimilated Subtranswarp impulse engines give a really nice sector space speed boost
The route I use is a variation on this

I quite like this route. For one thing, transwarping from beta quad to defera puts you inside the system and you have to go through another loading screen to get back to the tour. transwarping from the alpha quad to the azure nebula puts you right into sector space. For another, the route is designed so that it minimizes sharp turns. you’ll notice that there might be two or three turns sharper than 90deg around the entire map.
I typically do tour without di or rp.
i use a miracle worker ship with borg engine and a warp core that halves slipstream cd.
so my edits to this route follow
first, the first slipstream lasts from breen all the way to betazed. then, by the time i’m turned to Corwin, the cd is over, so i trigger it again, and end it manually when i get to ds9. i run on regular warp drives through Algira and Arawrath, and hit slipstream again. it lasts all the way to mizar and by the time i’m there i have my transwarp screen open to go to azure neb as soon as i get credit for mizar.
then, in beta, regular warp for gamma eridon and mylasa, then once i get turned to new rom, hit slipstream. that lasts all the way down to sanek, where i end it manually to turn up to pheben. by the time i get turned to pheben, the cooldown is over, so back into slipstream. this slipstream usually lasts till somewhere between alini and lirss. hit it again asap, and then end it at risa. after you make the turn up to argelius, it’ll be ready again, so a burst of slipstream up to vendor, then end it to turn. then, somewhere between vendor and virinat, cooldown will be over, so hit slipstream again. from here i change the route slightly. i go vendor to virinat to archanis to traelus and then from there up to drozana. so this latest slipstream gets us all the way down to traelus, where we end it manually and turn to drozana. then, as soon as the cd is over again, hit slipstream one last time .
usually get done with 1-3 mins to spare, depending on if i mess up somewhere :X.

I did send an invite to David C Coe, but it seems that that character is already in a fleet. As you can only be in one at a time, you’ll have to leave that fleet to join us. To do so, you’ll open up the fleet window, go to the “Roster” tab at the top, and from there, at the bottom right, there’s a “Leave Fleet” button you’ll have to click. We look forward to hearing back from you!
