Join our 44th chat channel “44th-diplo” by typing the following into the chat window: /channel_join 44th-diplo.
This is used to communicate with our 44th Fleet, 44th Delta Fleet, 44th Gamma Fleet and our 44th Assault Squadron (KDF) – we don’t use the in-game fleet channel. We are four fleets acting as one.
As a new 44th Fleet Ensign you will be stationed for 6 weeks in the 44th Gamma Fleet, (KDF’s go directly to our 44th Assault Sqn). For a promotion to Lieutenant and fleet store unlock you just need to meet 2 requirements:
1) Must have either logged into the game or posted on our 44th forum at least once during the review period of 2 weeks (which starts today);
2) Must be in good standing with the fleet.The fleet rank of Commander is earned after you’ve been with us for 6 weeks. Upon earning this rank, up to two of your characters can be transferred into 44th Fleet, and up to three can be put into 44th Delta Fleet at your discretion. Our promotion schedule is hosted publicly at our Trello Board.

my input: there are occasionally times when we don’t actually accept people who apply. mostly when they’re multifleeting or underage, but still.
can the function be that when we click “add to fleet” the forum automatically replies with the standard message?
or…i guess it might already be that way, after a careful reread of your post heh.
so…next question: is it somewhere easy to access so it can be edited as needed (new state of the fleet, new new player probation fleet, etc) fairly easily?
just so we don’t have to have you do all the work for it 🙂
edit: yup, confirmed working as i suggested :D. gj. the only real issue is that the autopost has to be edited with every app to include their name…but that’s not a huge deal.

gamma recruits are nice, if you’ve got em.
1) nice ground device reward. restores 50% hp to you and your team on use, and can be used when dead.
2) nice ship device reward. lowers boff skill recharges by 50% on use.
3) purple photonic engineer boff…pretty nice for ground, does nothing for space.
4) extra admiralty slot for your account.
5) tons of marks for all your characters, either fleet or rep.
6) epic doff, as galli mentioned.
all those rewards are for all characters on your account, once you’ve gotten the achievements done on your gamma recruit character.seems like the invite worked for Phoenix now.

i would love to get you squared away. i did just try sending an invite (both from one of our FED fleets and also from our KDF fleet) but on both, i get an error which indicates that the name we have (from up above here, “Kevin@habsfan22#8010”) is incorrect. i sent the invites to “Kevin@habsfan22#8010”. please let us know if that is, in fact, incorrect.
you can do that by responding here with your correct character and account names, or by joining our custom ingame chat channel and speaking up. to join the ingame channel, type “/channel_join 44th-diplo” with no quotes into your ingame chat box.
as another alternative, I’ve also sent you an ingame friend invite (the @habsfan22#8010 seems to work there, anyhow).

as far as specific gear advice, i’ll probably need to know what damage type you’re firing. there’s a good bit of stuff available from missions, but not all of it is applicable for all damage types. ex: if you’re using disruptors, the house martok set is great, but wouldn’t help at all if you’re a plasma thrower. if you’re a phaser user, the quantum phase stuff is good, but won’t really help if you’re using AP.
fleet ships are nice in that they don’t require a purchase with zen (you can get fsm’s on the exchange for ec, or through getting t6 reps (once per rep))…however, they don’t have a starship trait you can unlock. that’s typically only available on the c-store version of the ships.
skill training is cheap, unless you’re using lockbox or event skills (both of which are expensive. the first in ec, the second in time). all skills that aren’t level iii, you can buy from a bridge officer trainer npc very cheaply. iii’s, you’ll have to get off the exchange, and can be more expensive.
second, your boffs. cheap/free boffs are available. in the “delta quadrant” arc, the mission “alliances” (i believe), you can get a heirarchy science boff. he’s ugly, but he’s a nice shipboard science officer. comes with the Pirate trait (cat2 +1.5% all damage) and efficient (increases subsystem power at low levels). oh, and he also already has the intel specialization trained. in the “J’Ula’s Discovery” arc, the mission “beneath the skin” gives you an elachi engineer with temporal operative specialization trained. he gives you the “elusive” trait for space, which increases your ship’s defense. not as amazing as mr. potato head, but better than nothing. if you were around a week or two ago for the free Medical personnel tribute pack, and thought to grab it from the store, the Julian Bashir hologram science boff is also not bad for space. Also, once you get your Diplomatic Commendation to rank 4, you get access to a Nausicaan boff (tac, engi, or sci) with the Pirate trait.
for ground-specialized boffs, when you hit tier 5 rep for Dyson Joint Command you get Nelen Exil. he’s a science boff with a trait that allows him to self-resurrect every 90 seconds. you can also get a Jem’Hadar tactical boff from the mission “Facility 4028”. a Kobali Engineer with Command specialization from talking to a lost kobali in the maze during the “Dust to Dust” mission in the Delta Quad arc. and lastly, a borg science officer for hitting tier 5 rep in Task Force Omega.
If you need further boffs, just check the exchange. if you’re fed-aligned, you can usually get Humans fairly cheaply (like 10,000ish ec for very rares, in some cases). they’ll all have leadership (boosts hull regen).
The point is this: good boffs are nice, and you can get some that’ll help for now for free/cheap. But they don’t provide as much benefit as many other things you can spend your fc/dil on. like fleet vulnerability locators. or fleet colony deflectors and warp/singularity cores. so prioritize getting those things over fleet boffs.
as far as ships go, yeah you’re right that t6 ships being mainly available through cash purchase is…not great for people with a cash budget. keep an eye out for ingame events that award ships. the Lohlunat Festival (summer event) is coming up, and it looks like we’ll be getting a Risian science ship this year. do what you have to to get it (summer event ship progress is usually “fly this jetpack through some rings from here to here once daily for x days”). even if it doesn’t look amazing for you, you might decide you want the ship or trait on some alt character in the future. and getting it will get you an admiralty card. The winter event also awards a ship. As does the Anniversary event (which is right after the winter event. like mid-Jan to Feb). this year’s anniversary ship was the fed/kdf hybrid battlecruiser, which is actually not bad. don’t assume that those 3 are the only ship events, though. iirc last year there was a fairly random event that awarded an elachi frigate (which is also pretty cool). and even if an event doesn’t award a ship, some of the gear that events have awarded are really good.
you can also convert refined dilithium to zen through the dilithium exchange, if you so choose. so, conceivably, you COULD get everything in the c-store without paying a cent. it’d take forever, but it could happen 😀

i mean sure. if you feel like workin some jem, do it. the gamma recruit has some useful bonuses, like an earnable account-wide extra admiralty mission slot, but even without having a gamma recruit it can still be fun. by the time you get through the tutorial missions, you should be somewhere close to 65, so you won’t have to worry about levelling it up, just running through missions and tfo’s and gearing it up.
If you unlock the jem’hadar vanguard playable species with some zen, there’s even more good stuff there. you start off with a few of your r&d levels at 15 (which ones depends on your specialization). you start off with level 5 reputations in task force omega, nukara strikeforce, and iconian resistance, and all your reputations (the ones introduced before Gamma task force, at least) sponsored so you earn rep twice as fast. oh, and you get one of the better species traits for space combat.
as far as science goes, if you want to stick to jem’hadar ships then you want to pick up the jem’hadar vanguard carrier (with zen, of course), as it’s the only science-focused vessel in their stable…but you do get access to fly all the ships of whichever faction you pick as well, so if your jem is fed-allied, you could use any of the federation’s science ships. at the cost of being less dominion-ey.
