So playing around with the skill tree over on tribble I think we’re all in for a pleasant surprise. As long as people ignore the “ultimates”, various builds will have lots of options. I’d be pretty happy with things as it stands now.
However, the aux power scaling issue is a big one. Going from 100 to 125 aux really nets no gains to powers at the moment. And mostly, tactical powers are the ones worth investing in.
Now to see when we can copy our main characters over for a true comparison and gear.
The big issue will be training manuals being unaccessable for many builds anymore.

Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." - Marcus Cole, Babylon 5
Links in this thread have all the tooltips of skills as it they currently appear on Tribble: https://m.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/46oq04/new_skill_system_unlocks_summary/
To say the least, I am not impressed. Instead of giving us multiple options for builds, in every section there is really one one sensible choice. And further, there are really pointless skills which we are forced to choose between to get to higher tiers (hangar pet damage vs stealth, what if you have no use for either?).
The good news is that Bort has said he’s open to changes. My advice to anyone reading this is to put any plans on buying things on hold. Unless you’re planning on doing some market speculation (I know I am lol).

Yeah, I’m kind of irritated by this, but at the same time it was clearly broken (as Marcase can attest from being on the receiving end PvPing). Bort pretty much said it’s going to stay nerfed, just slightly less nerfed than it is now…
But I’ve had plenty of stuff nerfed and still put up decent numbers. Now I’m just hoping they fix the Paradox ship mastery trait. It currently has no shield penetration, so I’m getting less than 600 DPS in ISA and 800 in CCA. The number in the tooltip also doesn’t seem to change no matter where you are, so I don’t think PartGens or Aux power are properly scaling the ability. Around 6k is the base damage, it should be something like 12-15k based on what my Iso console scales to.
So yeah, my build is sort of nerfed right now. Probably could be doing over 50k if everything worked, or worked like it did. Guess they have to sell the next over powered thing soon.

Nukara Resilient from Nukara Rep. My stuff isn’t cutting edge anymore. I hear the Iconian Space Set is the way to go. But 2pc Nukara has served me well.

Get well soon – we need able bodied crew to supervise cleanup of the holodeck by our new members.

You inspired me to get back in my Icaurus. Here are some screenshots of mine:

Hmm, maybe create the folder, press printscreen in game and see if something shows up? Or maybe there’s a setting in STO that changes the target for saves on your machine. Beyond that, I don’t really see any further remedy.

I loved the Icarus. I’ll probably hop back in mine after I’m done trying to make the Fleet Arbiter into a semi DPS partgens hybrid. The Icarus is good, but ultimately imperfect for what I am going for. It is defiantly a good step up from my Mobius though.
I’ve been a Sci captain that pretty much always out DPSed your average tac captain. A sci in an escort is a powerful thing, especially in PvP of old. Subnucleonic Beam and Sensor Scan were the ultimate “I win” buttons. These days anyone can tank, debuff and DPS in virtually any ship with any class, so play how you like.
Anyway, to find your screenshots go => STO/Star Trek Online/Live/Screenshots. But your HUD will be disabled, so if you want to share screenshots as you see them (and have windows), press the windows key + the print screen key. These screenshots will be in with your pictures, likely in a folder labeled screenshots.

Humor and fun is appreciated, especially for a more campy TOS setting. However, it looks awful. Why do we need a Sith-esque alien, bleh. Stop trying to fit my round peg Star Trek into your square peg Star Wars. Get off my lawn!!!
Alright, done venting. I’ll watch both and probably be at least momentarily entertained, but I’ll hate myself for it.

There is a paypal account, you can use the button on the home (first) page.
Heh, in what 3 years I’ve never noticed that, would have chipped in sooner. Learn something new, amirite 😆

The site itself costs $144.00 a year 😕
But it terms of using something else, it does need security updates which I don’t necessarily have time for within the next 6 months (but I do have them on my agenda within the next year)
With that said, I feel like a strong recruiting point is this website. Its unique, its advertisement free, and we have full control over all aspects of it so we can add/remove things that we need.
Could we add a ‘donate button’? Something linked to a PayPal account which helps pay for the site. I’d be happy to chip in, whether or not such a button was feasible or prudent (in regards to the latest site downtime).

Cheaper, not really. But you can buy them on the exchange for EC. I’m not aware of the price currently, but it usually keeps pace with the value of dilithium. You may get lucky and swipe one for cheap though (I’ve posted 10 keys for 2 million EC on accident lol).
