Setting goals helps a lot once you hit 50. I have 4 alts at level 50, so I decided to get all of them lobi ships. I’m now working on all tier 5 rep. Sponsoring makes that super easy and I’ll have to find another goal.

Well, after seeing the stats, this is really underwhelming and certainly not going to replace my FHEC. Looks like I’ll go for the cruiser… just to have it. I don’t think this “flanking” business is too useful in PvE and it has been purposely made weaker for PvP. Just very meh, free ship though, so I shouldn’t complain.

All I want for christmas is an Aquarius refit/retrofit, with an integrated battle cloak and all universal seating. Maybe this will be the next best thing. Nice find.

So the plasma warp core does what exactly? Make cannons or beam overload better by reducing power drain and allowing better power recovery? – and/or – Make Aux to Batt better by making power levels more stable?
And yes, I’m very happy to see the medic kit too.

The longest loading times I experience are when I do foundry missions. I’m not really sure why sector blocks and space to planet transitions take a few seconds but the foundry can take over a minute.
Personally, I don’t mind sector blocks and the general setup. I like to see my ship warping in and then have to make the approach to DS9 (for example). And I’m sure it helps server stability. If STO had millions of players all paying a sub then I’m sure they would have the resources to make space like you want. My favorite space game prior to this was Freelancer and it used a similar system of having dedicated zones instead of vast nothing; I find STO to be a true successor (though it’s certainly not trying to be) as it is equally as playable and fun.
I also like seeing all the ships in the instance. However, I do think that introducing a new faction where all they want to do is fly the biggest junk wagons imaginable was not the best idea for sector space. But hey, whatever turns a profit benefits a total f2p player like me.
So yeah, STO has flaws but I really don’t feel those flaws kill the game.

I must say I’m excited for this and it’s good to see the importance of fleets elevated. Whenever we find out costs and mission requirements I’ll be ready to contribute.
On a side note: That forward base, if it’s powerful enough and I understand it correctly, will make any space elite STF a joke.
