I’d add this: they occasionally put Experimental Upgrade Tokens into the Phoenix store in the Ultra Rare category. 1 UR token for a 2-pack of -x upgrades. This is usually going to be more useful to more people than a t5 ship. But they’re not in there all the time, so you gotta bank your UR tokens till they’re available.
I tried to invite your characters, and duket’s invite went through just fine. Bold and Jibak, however, both throw errors. Are they rom/jem and haven’t yet chosen a side? or maybe one or both of them are TOS characters and are not out of the past yet? Or their names are spelled incorrectly? Idk. when you’re ready for them to be invited, the best way is to speak up in the custom chat channel described in the post above and ask for an invite.
The game throws an error when I attempt to invite you.
Are you sure the spelling of your character name and @handle are accurate?
What platform do you play STO on? The 44th is a PC-only fleet: not because we have anything against the console players, but we’ve been around since before the game’s launch and PC was the only option back then.
Alternatively, the issue may be that you’re currently in a fleet. You’ll need to leave that fleet to receive an invite from one of us. To do so, open your fleet window, go to the “Roster” tab at the top, and at the bottom right of the window should be a “Leave Fleet” button. Let us know when you’re ready for an invite! The best place to do so is in the custom chat channel described in the post above this one.
As you and Marcase both said, we don’t allow multifleeting for a variety of reasons. But we will give all of your characters (within reason) a home.
Normally, we have a two week trial period before we promote a new member to Lieutenant and allow them to access our fleet stores (including for fleet ships). We’re willing to offer you that two weeks as a trial of the fleet. If you’re not sold on being part of the 44th by the end of that two weeks, we wish you well both in STO and life. If you are sold, we should have all of your characters before the end of that two weeks.
Also, awarded Veteran ribbon. Thanks for your service!
i just always keep sto’s voice chat disabled. options, voice chat tab, first checkbox should be “Disable Voice Chat”.
if i need to talk with someone in the fleet, we have a discord server to do so with.
Heya and welcome!
I tried to invite James Hetfield@stefan#7269, but the game throws an error saying that “James Hetfield is already in a fleet”. You’ll have to leave your current fleet for invites to be able to be sent.
Open your fleet window, then go to the “Roster” tab at the top. Then, in the bottom right corner of the window should be a “Leave Fleet” button.
For the fastest possible service, please join our custom chat channel as instructed above. Then, speak up there asking for a fleet invite.
awesome, thanks for the correction. invites sent to Kip and T’ami. Inviting Dukal on either side tells me that he’s not a member of the same allegiance, which makes me think that he’s not yet to the point where you’ve chosen a side to ally with. once you get him there, by all means, let us know he needs an invite to a fleet on whichever faction you ally him with.
Heya and welcome!
I’m getting an error when I attempt to invite you. Please double-check the spelling of your @handle, and double-check that the number sequence is correct.
Or/and join our custom chat channel as instructed above and speak up in there.
when i need marks of any type, my preferred method is to just run advanced random tfo’s. you get not only whatever the tfo itself gives (which in some cases isn’t great, where tfo’s don’t offer all marks as options), but also a box which contains a pile of dil and a pile of your choice of marks. the size of those piles is dependent upon the quality level of the box, which is decided randomly…but even the common (white) box gives you 70 marks and 700 dilithium. the epic quality box offers 350 marks and 3500 dil. so for every queue you’re guaranteed at least some marks of the type you want and a pile of dilithium as well.
the drawback to this strategy is that occasionally you get a terrible tfo, like days of doom or gravity kills or the herald sphere. and you can also get ground tfo’s (which i don’t mind so much, but can understand people who do… like, i’d rather run a ground tfo like bug hunt or ri’ihho station than days of doom with randos. no contest).
welcome back!
Error inviting to fleet: Kalor is already in a fleet.
You can’t receive new fleet invites if you’re still in your old fleet (or got random-invited to a different fleet and accepted it).
Fleet window->roster tab at the top->bottom right corner of the window will be a “Leave Fleet” button.
Use that, and then join our custom chat channel ingame (instructions are in the post above) and ask an admiral for an invite. Or join our discord and ask one of us for one there.
anyway, welcome 🙂
when you acquire a ship, you also get an admiralty card for it. that admiralty card is static and will always be the same, so no you can’t improve it with gear.
you can get a free (and quite good) science admiralty ship card at the narendra system. in sector space just outside you’ll see an intrepid-class hanging out (think voyager). talk to them and they’ll give you the card for the U.S.S. Sally Ride.
otherwise, all tier 1-4 ships are available for refined dilithium. buy some of the science ones, and you’ll get their accompanying admiralty cards. you can then dry dock or discharge the ships you don’t want to actually use, and you’ll retain the admiralty cards.
In STO, think of the characters on your account as a family. Everything that comes after the @ sign is your family name. Everything that comes before is that character’s given name. So, for example, my main’s name is Asano, and my family name is @BreakingForce. My Jem’hadar character’s name is Eko’Tren, but his family name is still @BreakingForce. You’ve given us your family name, but we can’t invite characters unless we have both the family and given names.
You can post them here, or join our custom chat channel as described in the post above and ask for an Admiral to invite you. Or join our discord (invite link’s in the website’s bar above, under “Resources”) and poke anyone with an orange (or gold, depends on how your eyes see the color :D) name.
September 17, 2021 at 1:06 pm in reply to: Disappearing traits — Ways to maintain sanity in the era of layout doom. #434335It has started happening alot in the past few weeks. I am now losing traits, click panels and even specialist station clickies. I like the idea of print screening, unfortunately it also randomly happens when entering TFO’s – so I have to redo things as well as shoot. Bug pain.
I haven’t had it happen in months (knock on wood). I only save my loadouts in space, and I save two identical loadouts per ship, so if it does happen, I can swap to the other loadout on the fly and restore my build…and those two things together seem to make it a lot less likely to happen and allow me to minimize the impact if it does happen. maybe give that a try
