if you plan to play your alts at all, we’ll also take them. just speak up in our custom chat channel to ask for an invite. or our discord if no admirals are online atm when you do.

essentially, we view you the player as a fleet member once your application is accepted, and will take all of your alts in one or more of our fleets 😀
nah, just ask in our ingame chat channel. if someone who can invite is around, we’ll get you taken care of. our official character limits are 2 in main, 3 in delta, and unlimited in gamma. that said, we’re getting a touch full on gamma and so are placing people in delta who would otherwise be in gamma.
As for the Borg, I contend that they’re a really badly designed enemy. Their big skill is just periodically saying “no” to you having any shields at all. There are ways to mitigate this ability to some extent, but as with most things in STO, if you can kill them fast enough, it becomes less of an issue to deal with 🙂
Welcome to the 44th!
It sounds like the “mechanics guides” linked in Akula’s post (which were typed up by one of our Admirals, Paradoxical, and are still very valid information), might be a good place to start your exploration on how to STO well. Also, maybe take a look at our New Players Guide/FAQ, which, while parts are maybe a bit out of date, is still overall pretty good advice. In particular, take a look at the section on Keybinds (the “How do I get (much) better in space combat?” question).
Next, if you join us in our discord server, there are always people hanging out there who can answer most questions you may have.
Finally, one of our guiding philosophies is “the only dumb question is the one you don’t know the answer to and don’t ask,” so if you’re curious or confused about something, by all means speak up here on the forums, in in-game chat, or on our discord.
We have a lot of members who are willing to help with information and advice, physically being a wingman in missions that allow it or tfo’s, with crafted gear, etc. etc.
My ships don’t have mottoes, because I cba to think of them :D.
My main’s (Asano) ships are all named after mysterious places on Earth.

etc. I can make a full list if anyone cares to read it, but @mguyver expressed a desire for brevity, and she has 40 active ships, so I’m not right now 😀My Rom-KDF alt’s ships are named after birds. Usually predatory ones. That said, I’ve now specialized her into one main ship, the Faeht Intel Warbird. And it’s name is R.R.W. Shrike.
My other alts pretty much use the same naming convention as my main, but are also specialized into their own ships of (my) choice.

There’s a minor hitch in inviting you: you haven’t provided any character names. I’m assuming the “Cleo#8618” is your account name, and that is half of what we need to send an invite.
I tried “Ivy@Cleo#8618” and “Cleo Currier@Cleo#8618” and “Cleo@Cleo#8618”, and those didn’t work, so I have no other guesses as to what your character names might be.
You can post them here, and we’ll get you set up 🙂
It does not appear that you have applied to join the fleet. You evidently HAVE created an account on our website, which is a step required for applying.
To apply, while on our website click “Join” in the bar at the top. That’ll bring up a page that includes a “Quick Application” for you to fill out and submit. Basically, it’ll have you tell us a bit about yourself, give us your character and account names so we can invite you easily, and have you confirm that you accept our rules.
Once you apply there should be a fairly short period before one of the Admiralty sees the application and accepts you (or denies you and gives you a reason for the denial) (don’t stress about this: as long as you’re 18 or over and accept our rules, we accept almost all applicants I’ve ever seen).
Once we accept your application, we’ll get invites sent to your characters ingame and answer any questions you may have for us as best we can.

Join our 44th chat channel “44th-diplo” by typing the following into the chat window: /channel_join 44th-diplo.
This is used to communicate with our 44th Fleet, 44th Delta Fleet, 44th Gamma Fleet and our 44th Assault Squadron (KDF) – we don’t use the in-game fleet channel. We are four fleets acting as one.
As a new 44th Fleet Ensign you will be stationed for 6 weeks in the 44th Delta Fleet, (KDF’s go directly to our 44th Assault Sqn). For a promotion to Lieutenant and fleet store unlock you just need to meet 2 requirements:
1) Must have either logged into the game or posted on our 44th forum at least once during the review period of 2 weeks (which starts today);
2) Must be in good standing with the fleet.The fleet rank of Commander is earned after you’ve been with us for 6 weeks. Upon earning this rank, up to two of your characters can be transferred into 44th Fleet, and up to three can be put into 44th Delta Fleet at your discretion. Our promotion schedule is hosted publicly at our Trello Board.

Tried to send an invite to Teal’c, but am told that the character is already in a fleet. You’ll need to leave it so you can be invited.
When you’ve left whatever fleet Teal’c is in, or if another fleet has blind invited that character when their invitation is declined, you can ask for an invite for them in our ingame custom chat channel, on our discord server, or here.
Hans Olo has an invite waiting for you next time you log him in.
one minor issue: you haven’t given us a character name. “@Korbaan” is your account’s name, but to invite any characters to a fleet, we need those character’s names (whatever comes before the “@”). you can post them here, join our discord and ask an Admiral there for an invite, or join our custom ingame chat channel (instructions to do so are in the welcome post above) and ask for an invite there.

thanks for the intro. you got some new forum ribbons for doing so, including one for being a Veteran (current/former active duty military for any country). we have a fair number of you folks around, and are, of course, happy that that is so. thank you for your service.

so at Christmas, we (I live with my parents) had a get-together with a bunch of folks from church.
one of the attendees had gotten back to the US from a vacation in Australia in late November, and had some form of respiratory illness.
so my parents and I all got sick in mid-January. my mom got pneumonia which is just now clearing up for good. she went to the hospital (again, mid-jan), but this was before testing for covid was a thing. heck, it was before the US knew like…anything about it. China was probably still saying that there was no human to human transmission.
Everyone’s fine now, but mom’s doctor is like 99% sure that what we had was covid (a thing i suggested in like march, but was told it was a ridiculous idea). the testing available still has such a high false positive rate that her doctor said it wasn’t really worth getting tested, so we haven’t bothered.
but yeah, glad that both the Marcasefam and the Patrickfam are ok now 🙂
