Stats are up. I haven’t looked closely at the Tholian ships, but the Krenim event ship and the Mirror dreadnought both look pretty cool.

Here is a quick stats comparison of the Annorax and the Paradox temporal dreadnoughts:
    https://www.icloud.com/numbers/000t3AGMDRQzwA6uK–2nmQkQ#Temporal_Dreadnoughts

The Annorax has the edge in a number of ways, but I actually like that the new ship has no lance weapon. The Annorax is kind of locked into Antiproton weapons (to buff the lance) or disruptors (to synergize with the pets, which apply a disruptor-specific debuff). You could use pretty much anything you like without feeling like you were wasting that potential.

Yeah, you can find the DDOS attacker on Twitter, @neverwintergod

I cannot begin to imagine how sad and lonely his life must be.

In an unexpected (by me, anyway) twist, the new temporal dreadnought is a Lobi ship. Very interesting. No word yet on stats on either ship, just brief descriptions of their consoles and traits, but I expect we’ll get detailed info tomorrow,

Preliminary info on the Temporal dread:

    ***
The Lobi Store now offers the Paradox Temporal Dreadnought [T6]. This Mirror Universe ship is one of the most powerful ships in the Terran Empire’s fleet, using advanced technology from the future to be both durable and nimble. This ship includes a Lieutenant Tactical/Command seat and a Lt. Cmdr. Universal/Intel seat, for extraordinary flexibility.

The Paradox Temporal Dreadnought [T6] includes a Temporal Rift Stabilizer, a console that generates temporal anomalies along the forward line of the ship. These anomalies slow enemies and cause kinetic damage as they warp and destabilize the timeline.

Additionally, flying the Paradox Temporal Dreadnought [T6] enables unlocking of the following Starship Trait:

    Unstable Anomalies

While this trait is slotted, your Gravity Well and Tyken’s Rift anomalies will cause heavy kinetic damage in a 5km area of effect when they expire. This damage is improved by Starship Particle Generator skill.
    ***

If this ship has a Sci commander seat, and if anything interest results from adding the consoles from the other two sci ships, it may replace my Annorax; I really like the aesthetic. And even if not, I may still collect the Lobi for it for the console and trait, if the console works in the Annorax. Yum!

One of the quirks of the Annorax is its ability (so far) to use any temporal console from any ship. So hopefully, whether this becomes a two-part set or not, it’ll expand options.

I’m also very interested to see if the new sci ship offers anything for the Annorax. Even costume parts or hull material would be welcome, but a console that makes a set with the Annorax console would be awesome.

There’s a slightly more detailed explanation in the store description than there was in the blog post. Separation pets count, but hangar pets don’t. Your ship itself also counts. So the Hestia itself would get 3 stack when solo, 7 in a group of 5 assuming no other separation pets and everybody targeting the same thing. An Odyssey or Exploration cruiser would get 2 solo, 6 in group. A Sheshar with both pet consoles would get 4 solo, 8 in a group. It’s possible that a Kumari would get 3 solo/7 group if the wing cannon platforms count.

No idea how big the bonus is per ally, though.

I think I’ll have mine on Sunday. Saw one a couple weeks back (someone must have had lots of Lobi to burn); the screenshots used in the blog posts about it really didn’t do it justice. It looks really good.

What are the stats on its trait?

It’s worth bearing in mind that this is a trailer made specifically to show in front of Star Wars audiences this weekend. It may well be that it’s put together from half an hour of action and ignores another ninety minutes of thoughtful story and dialogue.

But of course, it’s directed by a Fast and Furious directo, so I wouldn’t count on that.

I don’t believe this affects skill/spec point gains. Only, as Damix said, the speed with which you can progress through the two ten-mission campaigns.

I’m sure others can tell you a lot more, but the two things that jump out at me immediately are:

    – get a second omnidirectional beam (crafted) for an aft slot
    – get stuff upgraded. Mk xiv damage is much higher than mk XII. (But first make sure you’ve got the mods you really want!)

If you’re building an AP beam boat, you probably want to fill your Tac slots with AP vulnerability locators. Also, last I knew, the Polaric Modulator doesn’t work (you need to reslot it every time you change maps or the bonuses don’t take effect).

I’m enjoying mine quite a bit. I’m trying it with a phaser build, centered around the new Quantum Phase beam/torp/console set. Quantum phase beam and torp front, Andorian phaser front and two back, wide-angle quantum rounding out the back. I may ultimately replace the wide-angle quantum with a third Andorian phaser — I’m finding that the ship is so big, I need to wiggle it around to bring that 180° arc into play. Not an issue on smaller ships!

Andorian phasers are fleet advanced ACC DMGx3, and I’m using them because the visual and sound blends well with the Quantum Phase beam. The three-piece set adds a Vesta-like ten-second superweapon beam that looks pretty fantastic coming out of the carrier. (As a side note, both +phaser and +partg improve this beam.)

I’m using one wing of elite frigates and one wing of Yellowstones. The Frigates are unquestionably better (especially in terms of survivability), but I do enjoy crowd control even when it isn’t strictly necessary, and I had the Yellowstones on hand from my Vesta. In situations with a lot of small ships and torps moving around, I tend to keep the Yellowstones in intercept mode, which both helps keep them alive and helps keep the small crap off my ship.

I’m also trying the new Quantum Phase Applications set for deflector, impulse and shield (I don’t love the engines, but the three-piece bonus looks good), and the Terran rep warp core. Still have to collect those last two items.

I have everything up to Mk XIV, but I’m holding on further upgrades while I try to decide whether I really want to fly this as my primary ship over the Annorax. It’s a lovely ship (the design has really grown on me), and story-wise it’d have a lot of appeal to my captain, but…the Annorax is just so damn good (and I’ve put so much work into it!)

It’s actually grown on me, and now I’m thinking I may get one. More for non-gameplay reasons than anything else. I think this ship occupies an interesting place in the story we’ve been playing through. Design probably began early in the Iconian War, an attempt to build a new warship for the conflict. But the war abruptly ended before it was complete.

At which point, in my head canon, the design was repurposed for deep-space exploration. The seating and loadout focus shifted from tactical to science, and while the bays could still be filled up with fighters, they could also be filled with shuttles for detailed exploration of planets or nearby systems, or runabouts or even frigates to branch out to more distant or more hazardous systems.

So for a science-oriented character, a hero of the Iconian War, the opportunity to transfer her flag from an experimental warship to a proper Federation ship built for exploring uncharted areas of the galaxy might be too much to resist.

Transport Warhead gets a pretty bad rap on the forums. Not sure why.

I like the look of the Atrox quite a lot, myself! But that’s a ship and a character I built largely for solo amusement; it’s not terribly effective, but it’s entertaining.

    Here it is:

I like it, but not enough to buy it. Had the Delta design won, I might feel differently. But the truth is, I have a carrier captain, and she’s a Caitian, so she commands an Atrox.
