    Greetings fleet !

    It’s that time again where we present a quick review of the Mighty 44th’s activities.
    As usual, first a welcome to our newest fleet members who joined last August;

    @Kinscar11 from Sweden
    @bettypage (Dezeray) from southern California
    @wesseclipse from Florida
    @CKolbrek from southern California
    @jamiedoe86 from London, UK
    @sirnat1 from Alaska
    @Moonshadow101 from New York City
    @Ryike from South Carolina
    @wayfairer50 from Alabama
    @tayvojetrix33 from Texas
    @NavChief from Oregon

    Also your Command Staff welcomes a new Commodore in our midst; Defcon1776 has been with our fleet since 2012, and as a STO veteran has proven to be a solid member of the 44th, and has earned the respect and support of the full command staff. He will be assisting with promotions and projects and overall supporting fleet activities where needed. So if you think you’re due for a promotion, and/or want to be moved from Delta to main fleet, you can ask Defcon in addition to the current Command Staff members.
    Congrats sir, well earned !

    We’re quite pleased with the progress of the new Krenim Research Labs; completing two Federation and a Klingon one simultaneously is quite an enterprise, and compared to other fleets (including those in our Armada) we’re ahead of schedule.
    Thanks to everyone who keeps donating to projects – it’s quite an investment but it will be worth it; extra Space, Ground, Doff and R&D slots is stuff to drool over.

    As you all may know, buying fleet kit is relatively unrestricted. Buying requires Fleet Credits, and those can only be earned if donations (either actual fleet marks or other resources) are made to fleet projects.
    We don’t want to restrict withdrawals, but provisons for the new Research Lab kits and consoles are still quite low, and we ask that you withdraw only one or two items for now. Slotting provisioning projects eats up space and time for actual R&D “grow” projects and that delays full completion; and the best kit only unlocks when the Krenim lab fully completes.
    Give the temporal research lab a bit more time. 😉

    I’ve had some contact with Armada members, doing some STFs, but that’s all incidental. There’s not a large amount of interaction, especially compared to the drama that we went through hooking up with other fleets (don’t get me started on that). So far, it’s just handy to have access to the holdings of other fleets to earn some extra Fleet Credits, but it’s not looking like we’re getting a bunch of like-minded ‘allies’ to play with regularly, something that was touted as an additional major Armada advantage. This too, takes time.

    This month our teamspeak server closed down. Grimman understandably stopped his subscription due to lack of activity. I’ve commented before that STO is not CoD or Wow; a MMORPG often gets confusing when you’re talking doing ground when others are in a space STF or just doffing.
    Still it can be usefull, and if there is enough interest we could look for an alternative (Skype etc can fill in if absolutely needed).
    Once again I’d like to thank Grimman for the years (!) of selflessly subbing our TS server.

    Speaking of which, you may have noticed a paypal button on this website. Intrepid hosts the site and he too pays for it out of his own pocket. With especially our forum a treasure trove of usefull information, if you’re able, consider a small voluntary contribution of say $2; anything would be greatly appreciated to help keep this site up.

    On activities, the Tier 2 PvP tournament has hit a bit of a snag due to afk’s from competitors. I hope to have that resolved soon so the prizes can find a new home.
    As usual, a new “Search for Soolin” will be up too this weekend, continuing with the new normal of smaller prizes for more players.
    Our latest RP thread has ended, so if anyone out there likes a new RP story and has any ideas, post it and we’ll run with it.

    Also a salute and thanks to TindyB and Damix for organizing the last fleet Meet & Greet which had a good turn out. We’re going to try to organize one every last weekend of the month with some more activities, with maybe a KDF Role Play or other theme. Exact time and date will be determined in advance (right now we’re looking at Sept. 27th) and pick a timezone that will work for most. Like last time there will be some sort of reward/prize/give-away as well.

    We expect to see the final episode in the Iconian War arc to be released this month, so that’s something we can be looking forward to. Hopefully the new season will hit this month as well, as we’re already being teased *Spoiler* with the new Mirror Invasion battlezone/queues starring Chase Masterson as evil Empress Leeta.

    Comments or questions are always welcome, here or elsewhere on the forum, so don’t hesitate and hit your communicator.

    We’re looking good 44th !

    Thanks Marcase. Damn, how did I not know about the Meet & Greet, that would have been fun.
