Greetings 44th !
It’s that time of year again, the time that a certain itch starts to spread through the fleet. Challenges are made, reputations are at stake, and bets are set for the –

Here they are, 12 gladiators that will duke it out in both space and ground. This tournament will officially start on April 1st, and will end no later than July 1st. Hopefully we can finish it before then, but scheduling matches across the globe remains a wibbly-wobbly timy-wimy affair. You can set dates or just start a fight when you happen to be both online, your fleet will accomodate as much as possible, but it will end after 3 months. Fights don’t have to be in the order listed, and space and ground fights can be on seperate dates as well, your choice.
So here they are, the 44th’s Top Guns; all powers, all cloaks, all sneaky tricks are allowed. This is a tournament that is supposed to be hard, so be warned.
Those that Join the Tournament earn the offical “I kicked your aft hangarbay” PvP ribbon:
.Winning the Tournament means earning the unique Red Squad ribbon
and a unique 44th forum title (tbd). The winner will also be listed at the front fleet officer page as one of the the 44th’s Elite Red Squad, and be forever recognized as an official 44th bad a$$.

Win = 3 pts, Stalemate / Tie = 2 pts, Lost = 1 pt. Forfeit = 0 pts (and no pvp-ribbon).
Stalemate = 2 pts each, in case of no kills after 30 mins (eg tanks vs tanks). Tie = equal kills at end of battle.Some basic rules:
# Have fun !
# You can use any ship and change it for each battle, but you can only enter with one character; that single one has to be used in both space and ground batles throughout the entire tournament.
# Maps are players choice, alternatively default maps are Briar Patch (Space) and Deserted Facility (Ground).
# Battles have a timelimit of 1 hr, or whoever gets 15 kills first (don’t forget to slot pvp dailies for the extra dilithium).
# If both players agree, spectators are allowed in space – if you watch, do not slot any team bonuses, remain cloaked if possible and keep +20kms away. Any interference with the match will have consequences.
If there is a tie at the end of the tournament, the total amount of kills will be the deciding factor.
In case of doubt or a ruling is needed, there are two strict rules:
#1 Marcase is always right.
#2 in the unlikely case Marcase is wrong, Rule #1 automatically applies.Post the final scores on this thread, so the scoreboard above can be updated.

"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."First fight of the Tournament, Marcase vs Veratisu – a gallant fight by a courageous captain ! However the Tholians meshweavers were a bit too hungry and took one bite too many out of his Manticore. Marcase wins in space 15/0.
Ground was fun – including a bare-knuckles fist fight ! Some sneaky kills by Veratisu’s TR116 too, but Marcase wins 15/5.
Well fought captain, respect.

Paradoxical vs Veratisu:
Space: In a 30 minute battle of frustration and bordem, stalemate 0-0.
Ground: In an epic fight that ended with fisticuffs on the bridge, Paradoxical wins 15-1.
After a nasty, vicious, grueling, and all together embarrasing ground fight, Paradoxical vaporized Marcase 15-0 (that is, zero).
In space, the only thing my Recluse killed was time, as the Vanguard was running circles around me while its captain was having coffee and a snack with his feet on the desk. Yeah…
Space 0-0 meaning a stalemate, 2 points each.
One day Vanguard, one day… 🙂

Space: In 30 minutes of life that we both won’t get back, neither could do any damage to the other. Stalemate 0-0.
Ground: In an epic ground battle that ended in fisticuffs that no one could win, Paradoxical wins 15-0.
First part of an EPIC battle ! Marcase vs Bilrost has got to be one of the most interesting, annoying, brilliant, nail-biting and hairpulling fights I have ever been in. Basically we used up all science magic in the universe trying to battle eachother.
After an hour long fight, end score was 2-0 and that was purely due to luck.If our ground match is going to be anything like this space match, I don’t have to worry about any grey hairs, because I will have pulled out everything already.
Respect captain (and a little fear) !

Space: As per usual in this tournament, the Vanguard could not be killed and could not kill its target. Stalemate 0-0.
Ground: In an epic fight where Stompar bent beams and got some good kills, Paradoxical wins 15-7.
After a truly Epic battle, my Recluse was shattered by Stompar’s Andorial pilot escort: 5-10, win for Stompar. And yeah we were at for +1 hr with me having enough sci wizardy but not enough dps (curse you Invincible !)
But I got my revenge on ground: Marcase vs Stompar 15-5.

Beta vs Paradoxical:
Ground: After getting some Ferengi whip kills, epic match ended with Paradoxical winning 15-3.
Space: After being the first ship to proc Invinsible on the Vanguard, Beta submitted and decided to try to kill the Vanguard with no shields and still failed. Stalemate 0-0.
Ferengi whip kills… So Beta ^^
