I have my own plans for Tahna so I’d rather have him live so better find someone else for your twisted plans, hehe. Since he has some background, I’d rather have him developed even more as character. I know it would be convenient for the story since he was on DS3 but maybe some other NPC that was rescued from the station could be used. Or maybe Tahna could be healed in the end after *insert evil idea* was used for the plot.

Alright, I won’t use Tahna then for the plan, since such event will be irreversible. Probably one of my ”redshirts” will fall victim to that ”little scheme” 😈

I’m really happy to hear we will get new writer for the story! I will wait for his message. Going to send a message to Marcase to see if he could get Diplomat purple color since he won’t be member of the fleet in-game.

Nice. He should contact you soon.

I know Horrid is taking a little break from the game so he is probably still not ready to return to the fleet activities. It is also summer so people are usually less active during this time. Ildin, who also created his character hasn’t been online in game for some time so it is not likely he will join the story at this time.

I get that, however, there’s no reason why they couldn’t write a story with us as it doesn’t really have to much connection with game and it isn’t that demanding either. Now I can live with Ildin not joining us for a while since he didn’t introduced his character(s)/ship into story yet, but Horrid did so his absence makes things a bit complicated. Same goes for Kylar. I wouldn’t like to have to turn their characters and ships into NPC’s, but I might be forced to do so if they don’t intend to continue with writing at all.

Than this story is good training for that book you are writing, maybe even good background for your main character or some of the crew members. Although it would maybe be too much if Sirius encountered two badass super strong aliens that pose threat to do galaxy in such a short amount of time.

Actually this story is some kind of a test for another book which would be a sequel to the one I’m working on currently. And yes, there will be some downtime period between the books. Btw the aliens we are dealing with in this story are more powerful from once in the mentioned book. And unlike them, they are ultimate evil beings

Nice post, it motivated me to continue my story right away. I’m at 15% at the moment, will continue tomorrow. I’m still missing something BIG that will make the whole return to the past thing well connected so hope I’ll be illuminated in the coming days (or tomorrow in best case scenario). If I wait, pace of the story goes down and I’d like to see it go forward.

Cool, I’m looking forward to your next story. In my next post I will deal with Dr. Tahna and your characters on my ship. And if it’s ok that we consider Tahna an NPC I will reveal something else about these aliens which is even more frightening than anything else we encountered so far 😈 Sure, I can always sacrifice some other character if you want Dr. Tahna to be well…intact would be the best choice of words if we are to consider that other option of what might happen to him

Oh and btw, my friend that I was talking about before has already registered on forums, so he should contact you soon about participation in RP as I told him already. Anyway, he’ll be a very good addition since his writing skills are on our level.
Besides that, I’ve tried to contact Kylar, but there was no response, and I’ll also try to contact horrid, since as you could read at the end of my last post, I could use help from his away team.

Yeah, two more. I am at the beginning of them. Well, I wrote the first one since my high school, but I didn’t liked how it turned out, so I’m ”rebooting” it now

I’m sure you are more experienced now and life has shaped you in a way no redshirt has seen before! Good luck with the reboot, hope lense flares won’t be only thing you add.^^

That about experience and everything you said sounds about right. And no, lense flares definitely won’t be the only thing, however action still stays a large part of my books  But besides that, there are some significant, but promising changes in storyline, better characters, and far more dangerous villains with interesting backgrounds as well. To put it simple, this rebooted book is going to be about the war of galactic proportions (yes, the aliens from another galaxy will come, but they are not Iconians). A one that will be far more devastating and longer than Dominion war. But due to that, there will be also a creation of grand alliance between some of the major powers in alpha and beta quadrants. And majority of that will be written from the perspective of Sirius Verax and his crew. Besides all that, it is important to mention that all of that will be happening several years after the Nemesis (10+ years after the end of Dominion war) in original universe 😎

As I am watching Andromeda, she gets more and more better with each episode:

    Trance Gemini:

She’s good, very smart, mysterious, can glow like a sun (in a way she actually is a little sun), and very cute too  And she can be badass too when situation desires it 😎

Oh yes! This is indeed a great weapon I’ve been using a lot while I was flying my Galor class cruiser. And I also put it aft to avoid getting damage from AoE.

Now I don’t know is this really a secret but I’m going to write it anyway: When you take some of the daily missions and skip playing it for a day, next time you can play it two times in the row. Very useful if you need dilithium or xp fast

(OOC: Sorry for the long wait, I was waiting for someone to join or for some of our current participants to write something. And I’ve been waiting for inspiration to resume story as well. Besides all that, there are problems in RL too which had to be taken care of, so I hope you understand the delays 🙂 Now let’s get back to story  )

Last time in Star Trek – Into the Mouth of Madness:

It’s coming after us again! – Daniel yelled.

Fire in the hole! – someone yelled right before a violent explosion shook several decks of the station. At the same time they heard horrifying scream coming from the creature, which just a few moments before chased them through the shaft. Sirius and his crew members hit the wall at the opposite side a second before the explosion.

Crap! – Daniel cursed when he saw a spectacle just a few meters in front of them. The part of the corridor, or better said the part of the station was completely destroyed and it was open to a vacuum of space. Only a flickering forcefield was keeping the air inside the rest of the corridor in which they were currently standing. It was truly a sight of heavy devastation previously unseen by most of the present Dragonstar’s officers.

What shall we do now? Is there an alternate route to OPS? – asked a young human female ensign standing now next to Lissan.

Daniel: Unfortunately there isn’t, but I believe that if we go back past the turbolift shaft we came from, that there is an armory which should contain environmental suits.

Wait a second! – Lissan shouted while pointing her tricoder and scanning the area behind blocked door. I’m reading a very faint life sign behind the debris. It’s Bajoran – she said.

T’Luminareth: Dragonstar here. What is your current situation?

Sirius: We have just found a survivor here… Any news from your side?

T’Luminareth: A Bajoran vessel just arrived into system and it requested information about what happened to station. Apparently they arrived to retrieve the Bajoran doctor by the name of Tahna.
Also the USS Curtana arrived in the area and they already sent their away team.

Sirius: Is Bajoran ship still in the area?

T’Luminareth: Negative, sir. But we detected another brief appearance of the anomaly we encountered on our way here…The only thing we know about it, is that it lasted approximately the same time as a standard transportation.

Sirius: Very well, inform me if anything else occurs…

Dr Tahna: Thank Prophets for your arrival! I was almost sure that I’m going to die here. – Bajoran said as Sirius and his officers stepped through a hole made by explosion.

Female medical officer: He is badly injured sir! I’m reading massive internal bleeding, damaged spleen and several ribs broken with two of them puncturing his lungs. He should be transported to sickbay and receive proper medical treatment as soon as possible, sir.

Dr. Tahna: It’s fine. I survived this far and I’m certain I can survive a few minutes to explain what happened…

Sirius: Alright, you all heard now what we are dealing with. That ship might return at any moment and station is crawling with these creatures. I suggest we get to the OPS immediately, get a record of attack and get the hell out of here as soon as possible.

T’Luminareth: Captain, we have a serious problem here.

In an instant, Sirius turned around his axis and he was momentarily frozen at the sight before him. Through the hole he and his teammates could see what appeared to be transdimensional rift (the one just like the anomalies they detected before) from which started pouring out numerous tentacled ships of various dimensions, including ones described by Dr. Tahna.

Sirius: My God! This is a full scale invasion!

    And now the continuation:

After he recovered from the initial shock he got from the horrendous fleet he saw through a hole in station’s hull, Sirius quickly started giving orders to T’Luminareth: Get behind the starbase and go to full silent mode immediately! We are going to get to the ops fast and return back to ship. In case some of those ships vector towards you before we return, beam us out and go to warp as soon as possible.

Understood sir. – T’Luminareth responded without hesitation and asked immediately after: To where exactly shall we warp to?

Having a good knowledge of this part of space, Sirius quickly replied: Starbase 514. It’s the closest starbase in our vicinity.

Aye captain. – acknowledged T’Luminareth and then added: And before we end this communication you should know that we have saved two more Bajorans besides doctor Tahna and have them placed under quarantine.

Alright. How are they? – asked Sirius with a tone of concern in his voice.

They are badly injured, but hopefully our doctor will heal them. – T’Luminareth answered to him with confidence.

Very well. Keep me informed. Sirius out! – he said before ending communication and moved out from the armory into the corridor. Alright people, let’s get to that OPS as soon as possible! Follow me. – he shouted while moving through the heavily damaged and blood stained corridor.
It wasn’t long before they were crossing a destroyed part of station open to a vacuum of space. To the right of them they could once again see alien vessels pouring through the extradimensional rift.

Oh man, this looks really bad! – Daniel commented on the sight before them.

Lissan agreed with him by saying: Yes, and especially if what that Bajoran doctor said is true.

I don’t doubt that one bit. Haven’t you’ve seen what that creatures are capable of and what they’ve done to the station?! – M’Toui protested loudly while they were approaching another end of the corridor.

We all have seen it, but right now I don’t think we should discuss it. – Sirius now interjected and added right after: Instead, we should focus on the task at hand so we can get the hell our of here as soon as possible.

With that being said, everyone went silent and kept walking towards the OPS door. Two minutes later, they arrived on their destination. The door leading to OPS were inoperable and their lower part was covered with blood and guts. Sirius tried to pry open the door with his hands, but without any success.

Make some space, sir. – M’Toui said as he approached the door with intention to help Sirius so they can open stuck doors. Sirius did as he was told and with their combined strength they managed to slide doors’ sides half the way, but at that moment a large spiked tentacle tried to reach out for them.

Look out! – Lissan yelled so both Sirius and M’Toui at the same time threw themselves aside, barely avoiding getting stabbed by the tentacle’s sharp spike.

Damn it! An another close call. – Sirius sighed while getting up from the floor.
Meanwhile, M’Toui has been already on his legs ready to strike at tentacle with his bat’leth.

Looking at darkened OPS through half-opened doors, Daniel asked them then: So, what should we do now?

Well, we obviously can’t get into the OPS without getting ourselves killed by that creature. – logically deduced Lissan while trying to think of solutions to the newly arisen problem.

Can’t we try to get inside unnoticed through one of the Jefferie’s tubes? – after some fast thinking asked bolian female security officer.

That’s not a bad idea. But what if there’s another one of those things? – Sirius asked with an expression of serious concern on his face.

I don’t think that we will, because creatures that big can’t move through Jefferie’s tubes. – Lissan replied somewhat uncertainly.

Yes, but they can still get their tentacles through them. – Daniel protested and then continued: And besides that, you should not forget their corrosive fluids capable of melting almost anything extremely fast.

I’ll take my chances. We got to find out more about this beings, and OPS is the place where we can do that. – M’Toui volunteered first, while switching bat’leth with disruptor assault minigun from his back.

Sirius agreed with him by saying: Mr. M’Toui is right. We need that information and besides, we can’t quit now that we got so far.

Oh what the hell! Let’s go! – Lissan joined them with brief hesitation.

Meanwhile Daniel looked at them and then he to decided: While I’m not eager about getting myself gruesomely killed, I still agree about that part with information so count me in.

After him, everyone else followed and they’ve all headed for the nearest Jefferie’s tube entrance.
Sirius removed the plate that was covering the entrance with ease and looked inside the tube.
It’s looking clear. – he said as he have not seen any tentacles in it. Just as he then tried to crawl inside, M’Toui stopped him: I should go first sir.
As you wish. – Sirius agreed and passed him through. Few moments later, all of them were crawling through the Jefferie’s tubes towards OPS.
As he turned around one of the corners one of the mouth-edged tentacles found itself right in front of him. Although he was Klingon, M’Toui felt a chills going down his spine from the sight he’s been seeing.

Hold up! – he loudly warned others behind him while observing tentacle which appeared to be dormant. Sirius took a look over his shoulder and said: I think it’s dead.
Yes, me too. – Lissan overlooked too over another M’Toui’s shoulder.
Right, let’s proceed then with caution. – M’Toui now agreed with them and resumed crawling through while moving tentacle aside at the same time.

It’s good thing we have those environmental suits so that we can’t come directly in contact with it. – Daniel said while crawling beside the long tentacle.

Sirius responded to him positively: Yes, that’s definitely a good thing.

After several minutes of crawling, they have finally reached the panel which was covering passage to OPS. M’Toui successfully opened mentioned panel by kicking it with his both legs.
Being unable to see anything through due to the darkness in the OPS, he turned his head towards his crew mates and asked: Flashlight anyone?

Sure. – Daniel responded him immediately and handed the flashlight.

In the name of Kahless! – M’Toui said moment after he turned on the flashlight and saw a giant creature in the center of the OPS with at least two dozen of different tentacles wriggling all over the place. They were lucky that the creature haven’t noticed them already despite its numerous red and yellow glowing eyes on its large bulbous saucer-like head with bulky, but somewhat smaller torso and about dozen of long flexible legs.

Look at that thing. It’s enormous! – Lissan said while observing the creature over M’Toui’s shoulder.

Sirius deduced the same: Yes, and that is not good at all. We have barely managed to killed that smaller one in turbolift shaft. I don’t know what it will take to deal with that monstrosity.

I think we should wait for the Curtana’s away team. They should be here soon. – Daniel wisely uttered.

Agreed. I’ll try to contact them. – said Sirius and tapped his communicator: This is Captain Verax from USS Dragonstar to Curtana’s away team. Please respond!

The only thing they could do now was to await on response from Curtana’s away team and hope they should get it soon. Otherwise it might be too late for all of them.

    To be continued…

Ok, once again I must apologize about delay when it comes to this RP storyline continuation. However, I have finally managed to present the RP to the official STO forum community.

So I’m presenting you now how it is done: http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums#/discussion/1195039/looking-for-play-by-post-rp-participants

Btw, I’m intending to continue with story sometime soon when I found enough time and inspiration for it. Yeah, I’m kind of perfectionist so that’s why it takes me a little longer to do so.

I grew up watching Babylon 5 and Star Trek: TNG.

They would be my top sci-fi shows that I would enjoy watching; other shows that I’ve caught would be the redone Battlestar Galatica — I liked it a lot, despie other peoples complaints and concerns. I liked watching FireFly too until it got canceled.

I would of liked to get into Voyager and DS9, but I have not been able to bring myself to do so. I binge watched Enterprise; which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Stargate series is another series I can’t bring myself to get into….they just don’t seem to draw my attention.

DS9 is a great series which I strongly recommend to watch. Ok, first two season are not the best and brightest of ST franchise, but from season 3 things are starting to get really good and there’s a lot of action and large scale fleet battles which are always great (like the ones in B5). Besides DS9 has some specifically good individual episodes like ”In the Pale Moonlight”, ”Trials and Tribble-ations”, ”Homefront” and ”Paradise Lost”… Also, DS9 has one of the best characters depicted in ST franchise and that includes recurring characters. So it is really worth watching.

Voyager on the other hand may not be as good as DS9, but it still has it’s qualities and good characters. And that whole plot of traveling through entire unknown area of space is kind of exciting and interesting.

As for the Stargate, I would say that it’s pretty much the same thing like it was with DS9. First seasons are somewhat slow and uneventful, but with time show develops some great villains and we get to know and start to like protagonists better than we did at first. The best show in SG franchise for me is Atlantis, while many others worship SG-1 which is the very first show. But both shows are great in their own ways, including the third show which is Universe. Unfortunately, due to it’s premature cancellation Universe never really managed to develop further and cannot be really compared to other two shows, but it surely had a lot of potential.

Anyways, recently we just got some new SF shows like Dark Matter and Killjoys which haven’t been out for long, but for me they are promising so far. What do you think of them?

On several occasions I’ve been without internet or even computer. In times without internet I would mostly focus on playing single player games, working on my ST novels, creating and editing pictures in photoshop…
When I was without computer, things were even more difficult for me, so I had to find another ways of entertainment and the most common ones were going out with friends or girlfriends, watching TV, drawing spaceships (which I still do from time to time  ), cycling and so on.

So yeah, there are always alternatives, you just need to find which ones are best for you.

True, that spatial charge explosion haven’t been as strong as the one from photon grenades

Well, if Haznir haven’t managed to be transported to Dragonstar, then he is going to be in a world of hurt, unless he somehow managed to kill off the creature which isn’t particularly easy. But if the creature was already injured before then it could be killed easily.

Huh…yeah, it appears I have forgotten about him. However, that is not surprising at all, since besides this RP I’m writing 2 more ST based books and sometimes it happens that I mix up characters or forgot them, like I did with Riley in this case.

Good, I’ll hope you’ll post soon and I hope someone else will too. As I said, I’ll wait for a week or so until I post my next part of story.

And thanks 🙂 It took me quite a while to get up with all that stuff, but I did the best I could. And in case I forgotten about something I will mention it in the story.

Nice post Damix! So it looks like your characters ended on my ship. Well, at least they are safe now (or maybe not? ).

Anywayz, I’m curious about the mentioned explosion? Is it the one caused by M’Toui’s photon grenades which he threw at the creature in turbolift shaft, or is it the one of that spatial charge planted on debris in front of armory to unblock the door by Daniel?

Also, I don’t remember Lieutenant Riley from my ship. Did you come up with him, or I forgot about him?

Now I’ll wait a little (week max) for Kylar or horrid to write something, or if anyone else joins in the meantime, and then I’ll go on with story and the things are going to get really really nasty 😈 Like Sisko said in ”Pale Moonlight” episode, we are going to get ourselves in a very bloody, very messy business  (HINTS: alien ships and one huge alien in the station 😈 )

Anyone interested in posting new stories anytime soon? It would be a shame if this RP would die so soon, and I would prefer that we continue writing. Besides, we just started the real fun part

Oh, maybe I should have given more info on alien ships first. So here it goes now.

Fighters (Swarmers): About 50 meters in lenght, coming with at least two tentacles, but if necessary can spawn more of them. They share a standard design configuration as their larger counterparts. They also come with two spikes, one sensor appendage and a number of their bio-projectile launchers. While being rather small, they have a firepower capable of destroying Intrepid class sized vessel. Unlike their larger counterparts, fighters do not have visible power-sources.

Destroyers (Interceptors): Essentially larger than swarmers (about 400 meters long) these are truly dangerous vessels. Armed with up to ten tentacles, four spikes and twice the number of projectile launchers these ships are capable of destroying capital vessels without much trouble (like Nebula or Galaxy classes for example). Their power-sources are at the back of the vessels in form of glowing balls of light.

Battlecruisers (Hunter-killers): With more than 1 km long, these large vessels are consisting from more than two dozen tentacles, 8 spikes, numerous launchers and two power-sources in the middle, and the back of the ship. Being rather powerful these ships are capable of taking down the more powerful capital ships (like Sovereign and Prometheus classes) and even some smaller fixed installations like outposts.

Battleships (Behemoths): The third most powerful vessel in species 10647’s armada. Armed with up to 4 dozen tentacles, 16 spikes and high number of bio-projectile launchers, these ships are capable of destroying even the mightiest vessels of Milky Way galaxy (like Scimitar, Borg cube, Dominion Dreadnought and such). They can also take on medium sized installations due to their impressive firepower and ability to launch swarmers as well. Even their size of more than 3500 meters in length is terrifying.

Dreadnoughts (Leviathans): More than 9 kilometers in length, these ships are capable of fighting with dozens of capital enemy vessels with relative ease. Having more than twice the number of tentacles, spikes and projectile launchers compared to battleships, and a large number of swarmers and interceptors that they carry, these monstrosities have enough firepower to destroy entire planet. They come with six lighting ball like power-sources and eight of sensor appendages.

Dreadnought Carriers (Nemesis’): Approximately twice the size of dreadnoughts, these are the most powerful vessels which species 10647 have in their fleet. They have ten power-sources, over hundred of tentacles, over 50 spikes, numerous bio-projectile launchers and a dozen of sensor appendages. Aside from that, they can also carry a large number of swarmers, interceptors, hunter-killers and sometimes even behemoths. With that kind of firepower and a large number of support craft, these vessels can fight with hostile fleets consisting of hundreds of vessels.

NOTE: All of these vessels have high ability of regeneration abilities and their shields are able to absorb large amounts of energy. Such abilities are increased proportionally to a size of species’ 10647 vessels.

Now that I explained somewhat, their vessels, I could as well give you some better insight in their weapons, defensive and propulsion systems.

    Offensive systems:

Beam spikes – used for firing powerful bright red colored beams which are able to quickly drain opponent’s shield and also severely damage both it’s armor and hull. They usually require several seconds of cool-down before they could fire again and they can’t fire simultaneously.

Bio-projectile launchers – capable of launching highly corrosive bio-mechanical warheads which are able to literally melt down both opponent’s armor and hull. However, they have no effects on energy shielding. Mentioned launchers cannot fire more than two torpedoes per one minute, but unlike beam spikes, they are able to fire simultaneously.

Tentacles – As there are several different types of them, I will cover them one by one. So here we go:

Ripper tentacles – these tentacles are covered with many sharp spikes and are used as sheer force to tear apart the target’s armor and hull apart. As such they are not able to inflict damage to energy shields and therefor are not used until the target’s shields had been collapsed.

Devastator tentacles – type of tentacles containing same corrosive liquid which the creatures and bio-projectile warheads have. They are used to spray their target with acidic liquid in order to melt down it’s armor/hull and thus allow boarding actions. These type of tentacles have limited use, as the liquid in them can be expended and it takes a lot of time for the beings to recreate it. Just like the ripper tentacles, these are also useless against opponents with energy shielding.

Energy draining tentacles – capable for quick shield draining as well as for draining of remaining power from target when it’s shields have been collapsed.

Devourer tentacles – tentacles with extremely sharp-teethed mouths on their ends able to literally devour and consume anything in their range (even the non-organic materials). They have a purpose of processing material which is later used in ship breeding.

NOTE: All of the tentacles can be regenerated and elongated if necessary. The bigger the ship, the more tentacles it has and additional ones can be generated as required.

Sensor appendages or so called detectors – special appendages created specifically for scanning surrounding area. Their effective detection range is increased by the number of them.
    Therefor:
1 appendage (Swarmer) – effective senor range of up to 100 light years and effective scanning range of up to 100 000 km
2 appendages (Interceptor) – effective sensor range of up to 200 light years and effective scanning range of up to 500 000 km

Propulsion: Transdimensional hyperdrive and sublight engines.

    Medium absorbing shields – Interceptor
    Heavy absorbing shields – Hunter-killer
    Ultra-heavy absorbing shields – Behemoth
Primary and secondary absorbing shields – Leviathan

And that would be pretty much all for now when these comes to these horrendous extra-dimensional aliens. If anything is missing or if something doesn’t seem right, please feel free to let me know. I’m also open to suggestions on improving details and ships in general so feel free to give your advises on how to do it.

No worries for the wait, RL first. This was really interesting and I like how you connected the stories. It was really exciting, hope I’ll write my part asap.

Thanks! I’m glad you like it.

I was thinking that it would be the best if Tahna was made survivor since he is your character you came up with and I hope you liked how I made him really capable of surviving even against such odds
I also hope you like the design of that ship I come up with  I’ll try to draw other type’s of their ships, but that ship is a base design for others too. They have some type of fighters, destroyers (shown in the drawing), battlecruisers, battleships and dreadnoughts.
By the description in the story, their ships are so powerful that even their fighters are capable of destroying capital vessels (like Intrepid class for example) without much trouble.
In order to drive them back to their dimension we will have to unite with every major power in our part of galaxy, otherwise we won’t stand a chance. Yes, I can say I was inspired by that B5 Thirdspace movie, but I made my aliens even more powerful and somewhat different as well 😈

Btw I corrected most of the mistakes I made in that last post of mine, and did some minor changes so if you wish to re-read it you can do that. And I’m hoping you’ll post soon your story, because I’m looking forward to reaction of your characters on the situation development
