Sirius and his team have been closing to the deck which contained operations center of the station. They were one deck away when they heard the same sound like they’ve heard before when the horrifying creature chased them up the ladder and brutally slaughtered one of their teammates.

It’s coming after us again! – Daniel yelled.

Everyone started climbing faster towards the half open door of the turbolift shaft. Creature screamed in rage as it was closing fast to them.

Hurry up people! I don’t intend getting ourselves killed in a damned turbolift shaft. – Sirius said loudly to his officers as he was moment away from reaching the doors. As soon as he managed to climb to them, he pried them open with his both hands, so they could get into the corridor. Then he quickly climbed out of the shaft and started helping others to climb up inside the corridor as fast as possible, before the creature would be able to reach them. The last of team members barely avoided from being pulled down by one of the creature’s newly generated tentacles.

Are you alright? – Sirius asked bolian female security officer.

Terrified, but otherwise fine. – she answered while trying to catch her breath.

Suddenly they could both hear M’Toui’s sharp Klingon voice: Move aside!

They did as instructed momentarily, so the Klingon officer could throw two photon grenades down the shaft towards approaching creature, and to quickly close the door after.

Fire in the hole! – someone yelled right before a violent explosion shook several decks of the station. At the same time they heard horrifying scream coming from the creature, which just a few moments before chased them through the shaft. Sirius and his crew members hit the wall at the opposite side a second before the explosion.

Is it dead? – Daniel asked right after the station stopped shaking from the blast.

A reply from M’Toui came almost instantly: It should be!

I’m not going to be convinced about that until we check it out. – Lissan said while moving towards the doors which were slightly bent outwards due to the explosion. She tried to pry them open, but without apparent success despite her incredible strength. However, when Sirius and M’Toui quickly ran to her help, they managed to slightly open them with their combined effort. As they looked down, they could easily conclude that creature was blown to pieces. There were parts of tentacles and rest of it’s limbs and body all over the place and there were large amounts of both glowing purplish liquid as well as yellow blood all over the walls.

Well, I think this answers it. – Sirius said as he turned towards Daniel and waved with his right hand towards him so that he comes over and see it for himself.

Daniel slowly approached to them and was visibly relieved when he looked down just as Sirius, Lissan and M’Toui did: Oh, good. I thought we were done.

And we probably would be if it wasn’t for M’Toui’s idea to throw the grenades at it. – Lissan logically concluded.

Alright, now that we dealt with it, I suggest we continue to OPS. – Daniel suggested and then pointed down the corridor while adding: I believe we should go in that direction?

Sirius answered right away: Yes, that would be the shortest way. Let’s go!

After saying that, everybody followed him throughout a little less damaged, but stil quite messy corridor. It took them about a minute before they ran into next obstacle.

Crap! – Daniel cursed when he saw a spectacle just a few meters in front of them. The part of the corridor, or better said the part of the station was completely destroyed and it was open to a vacuum of space. Only a flickering forcefield was keeping the air inside the rest of the corridor in which they were currently standing. It was truly a sight of heavy devastation previously unseen by most of the present Dragonstar’s officers.

What shall we do now? Is there an alternate route to OPS? – asked a young human female ensign standing now next to Lissan.

Daniel answered first as he was familiar with the layout of the station: Unfortunately there isn’t, but I believe that if we go back past the turbolift shaft we came from, that there is an armory which should contain environmental suits.

Lissan spoke then without hesitation: Then we should go there.

I agree. – Sirius nodded in confirmation before everyone turned around and started heading back towards their previous position. About 20 meters away from the turbolift there were supposed to be a door of mentioned armory. However, there were a pile of debris in their place.

Oh great! An another obstruction. – Sirius sighed with a desperate expression of his face.

Don’t worry, sir! I’ll take care of it. – Daniel said as he bent down and started setting up one of the spatial charges he was carrying as a part of his standard equipment.

Wait a second! – Lissan shouted while pointing her tricoder and scanning the area behind blocked door. I’m reading a very faint life sign behind the debris. It’s Bajoran – she said.

What?! How we couldn’t detect it with Dragonstar’s sensors? – asked Sirius curiously.

I’m not sure, perhaps because those creatures were jamming us. – Lissan replied to him with uncertainty in her voice. I believe they have an ability to emit jamming fields around them so they could move unnoticeable towards their prey. – she added.

Well, that makes sense. But if that is true, then we might as well presume that there are more survivors on the station. – logically deducted Sirius.

Probably… – said Daniel before making a little pause and then he suggested: In that case we should hail Dragonstar to help us locate them and beam them off the station.

Sirius nodded in agreement and tapped his commbadge: Sirius to Dragonstar!

T’Luminareth responded as usual: Dragonstar here. What is your current situation?

We have just found a survivor here. It looks like that those creatures do not only mask their own signatures, but they are also able to emit jamming fields around them. That’s probably the reason why you haven’t detected any additional life signs. I suggest you do another sweep with dispersed multi-frequency beam and if you find any signs of other survivors on the station, except from the one near us, then beam them directly in sickbay, and have the doctor put them under strict quarantine until she’s safe that they are not contaminated by any kind of unknown matter or bio agent. – Sirius thoroughly explained and gave her instructions how to resolve their problem.

Understood, sir! Is there anything else we can help you with? – she asked with her indifferent tone of voice as usual.

No, that’s all for now. Any news from your side? – he asked curiously.

Yes, there are. A Bajoran vessel just arrived into system and it requested information about what happened to station. Apparently they arrived to retrieve the Bajoran doctor by the name of Tahna. – Vulcan female replied. Also the USS Curtana arrived in the area and they already sent their away team.

Very well. – Sirius was somewhat relieved by that information, but then he quickly came up with the next question: Is Bajoran ship still in the area?

Negative, sir. But we detected another brief appearance of the anomaly we encountered on our way here. – T’Luminareth replied.

Any idea to what that anomaly might be? – he asked her now even more confused then the first time by this revelation.

No. The appearance was too brief to get any relevant data. The only thing we know about it, is that it lasted approximately the same time as a standard transportation. – she answered.

This puzzled Sirius even more, but he couldn’t think of any ideas what that might be connected with. Sure, it was a possibility that those were transdimensional rifts Scarlett told them about, but their time frame was too short for anything to come through and nothing even did so far.
Very well, inform me if anything else occurs. Sirius out! – he ended communication and focused his concentration on his chief engineer who was awating on his next order: You may proceed subcommander. – Sirius told Daniel just before he yelled through the pile of debris in order to warn Bajoran there to get clear from the blast area: Doctor Tahna, do you hear me?!

Yes! – a male Bajoran voice was barely heard through all the rubble.

Good. Move as far as possible away from the door then, because we are about to blow them up and there’s no other way we can reach you. – Sirius explained to him loudly.

Alright, just give me a minute please. – Dr. Tahna yelled as he slowly crawled away from the door.

Meanwhile Daniel was finished with setting up spatial charge on debris which were blocking doors to armory and then he instructed everyone to fall back. Moment later everyone was far enough from what would become a blast radius.

Fire in the hole! – Daniel shouted while simultaneously detonating the charges. Explosion was powerful enough to vaporize debris and clear the way into armory.

Thank Prophets for your arrival! I was almost sure that I’m going to die here. – Bajoran said as Sirius and his officers stepped through a hole made by explosion.

Sirius was the first to address visibly injured Bajoran: I’m glad we can be of assistance. Then he turned towards one of his officers and instructed her to help the poor man.

A young female quickly ran to him and pulled out her medical tricoder in order to scan the wounds. One of the wounds appeared quite deep and it was spreading from side to side of his stomach.

Dr. Tahna tried to speak again, but young female officer unintentionally prevented him by reporting his medical analysis to her captain: He is badly injured sir! I’m reading massive internal bleeding, damaged spleen and several ribs broken with two of them puncturing his lungs. He should be transported to sickbay and receive proper medical treatment as soon as possible, sir.

And he will, as soon as I ask him a few questions if that is alright. – Sirius was looking at Tahna with compassion, but he knew they desperately needed more information about how they got in this mess.

I don’t think that’s smart, given his condition… – woman started explaining, but was soon interrupted by Bajoran: It’s fine. I survived this far and I’m certain I can survive a few minutes to explain what happened. Just give me something to ease my pain.

Do it. – without hesitation Sirius said to a woman standing next to injured Bajoran and she injected him with painkillers.

Meanwhile, M’Toui and Daniel were looking around the place. There were a lot of discarded phasers and rifles scattered around all over the floor. Some of the environmental suits were missing, while majority of them were still inside open closets, and some of them were visibly damaged. On the opposite side of the room, there were several corroded scars and something that looked like a large hole from which peeped out one of the severed tentacles. Aside from that, there were blood, body parts and puddles of creatures purple glowing acid all over the floor. In addition to all of that, at a place where should be a bulkhead which was separating armory and vacuum of space, now there has been a giant hole. Only a flickering forcefield was standing between them and open space. They were stunned by the sight in front of them, but soon their attention was back on the Dr. Tahna as he started telling the story about events which taken place before their arrival.

As soon as effects of painkillers got in motion, Dr. Tahna started explaining what happened to station and how, from his own perspective:

I was just writing a report in my quarters when first alarms went off. Only a moment after I heard Admiral Holt’s voice over the station’s intercomm, and he told everyone to stay in their quarters so I did as was requested. It wasn’t long before the whole station started shaking from devastating detonations. I quickly ran towards window and then I saw it – a ship, unlike anything else previously recorded in history. It had numerous black appendages which looked like tentacles and several long spikes at it’s front side. At it’s aft side there was a glowing red ball of energy. It’s bright red beams of energy were literally draining station’s shields and tearing apart huge parts of the hull. Maybe two or so minutes passed before the stations shields were completely drained and then the strange vessels started spewing out something which looked like a projectiles of some sort, and in one moment it got close enough to the station in order to reach it with it’s tentacles. Both projectiles and tentacles started tearing the station apart and literally melting her hull. Station unleashed entire arsenal of her weapons at hostile vessel, but without success. Her phasers and torpedoes barely scratched vessel’s shields and at some point I heard noises and terrifying screams right above my quarters. I took quickly my hand phaser and stood in one of the corners looking what was going to happen next. Just a moment later several tentacles burst through the ceiling and tried to reach me. Without hesitation I adjusted my phaser to maximum setting and started firing on the monstrous tentacles severing two of them after few shots. Creature retracted itself back and I stood beneath the Jefferies tube in order to see the rest of the creature and kill it if possible. After firing several more shoots creature once again tried to reach for me with it’s tentacles, but I threw myself aside before it could catch me. As I realized that my phaser shots have a little effect on creature I set it on overload, threw it into the tube and put the cover on. Moment later phaser exploded and I heard creature screaming in pain. After that I quickly decided to evacuate from my quarters and go to the armory in order to obtain phaser rifle before heading for a station’s docking hangar as the entire crew was instructed by one of the officers from OPS. When I was running through the corridor towards nearest turbolift, a large number of tentacles started moving right on me at incredible speed. I threw myself quickly in the turbolift which was opened by one of the station’s officer. Unfortunately poor man haven’t made it inside and was violently teared apart by the different set of those disgusting tentacles. I did the only thing I could at that point, so I closed the turbolift door and told the computer to take me to the nearest deck containing the armory. It was this deck. At one moment as the turbolift was heading up, something started pulling it down violently so I had to get out through the roof and continue by ladder all the way up to the desired deck. And as soon as I climbed up, I’ve seen bright red light filling the corridor on the right of me. I ran a few meters towards it to see what actually happened and saw how a large part of corridor was being vaporized almost instantly and getting opened to a vacuum of space. As I did not wanted to be sucked out from the station I ran in the opposite direction and finally got here. Then I took the rifle and once I tried to get out, part of the corridor collapsed and blocked me inside. Soon after, one of those ship’s tentacles teared apart this bulkhead and I reached for hazard suits locker as quickly as possible, but before I got to the locker one of creature’s tentacles popped out from the wall and slammed hard into my stomach as you can see. I blasted it several times with phaser rifle I picked up earlier and severed it. Thinking it killed me, creature pulled back and left me in peace. Meanwhile, forcefield formed in the place of that hull breach and saved me from being sucked out into space.

Everyone including M’Toui were shocked by Tahna’s story and for a good minute or so they were left speechless. Young female that gave poor Bajoran painkillers opened her mouth first and addressed her captain: We should transport him to sickbay now, before he’s gone for good.

Without hesitation Sirius nodded to her and then he contacted Dragonstar by his communicator: Sirius to Dragonstar – we have one to be beamed up directly to sickbay!

Dragonstar’s transporter chief, lieutenant Riley quickly responded: Aye sir!
Moment later Dr. Tahna dematerialized from the floor of armory and rematerialized in Dragonstar’s sickbay.

Sirius now stood up and addressed his entire team: Alright, you all heard now what we are dealing with. That ship might return at any moment and station is crawling with these creatures. I suggest we get to the OPS immediately, get a record of attack and get the hell out of here as soon as possible.

M’Toui was first to speak after him: Agreed! I also suggest that we blow this place to hell before we leave.

Lissan spoke next: M’Toui has a good point. We should take out the station so that no one encounters and gets killed by those monsters again.

Daniel also agreed with them and others followed too. The case was closed and they started putting on environmental suits in order to cross the destroyed part of corridor which led to station’s OPS.
But at the very moment they started heading out of the devastated armory, Sirius’ commbadge beeped.

Oh! What the hell happened now? – he thought before answering: Verax here, go ahead!

T’Luminareth’s cold voice was heard over communicator: Captain, we have a serious problem here.

Yeah, tell me about it! – Sirius sighed sarcastically while stopping at the exit of armory. However, knowing that Vulcan’s haven’t really understood sarcasm he quickly asked: Ok, what is it now?

I suggest you look outside one of the windows. – she simply replied to him.

In an instant, Sirius turned around his axis and he was momentarily frozen at the sight before him. Through the hole he and his teammates could see what appeared to be transdimensional rift (the one just like the anomalies they detected before) from which started pouring out numerous tentacled ships of various dimensions, including ones described by Dr. Tahna.

Everyone was left speechless from this new horror unleashed upon them except Sirius who just said: My God! This is a full scale invasion!

    To be continued…

(OOC: First and foremost I’m truly sorry for the long wait, but I was pretty busy in RL and it was hard to find any kind of inspiration with all the problems on my mind. However, I hope that the wait was worth it, since this time I revealed a lot with what exactly we will be dealing with. Now I know that this is a large cliffhanger, but I think that is more exciting this way and that you’ll be eager to write your stories as soon as possible. I really hope you like this one and the way I described events that transpired before our arrival. Btw, here’s how the described ship looks like: http://i.imgur.com/1e6tgFQ.jpg

@Damix: Very good post! I wonder if the being in the jefferie’s tube was alive or dead? But as far as I am concerned it could be both. Now there is a thing I haven’t mentioned about those creatures (it would be to huge spoiler), which I intend to describe in my next post  However, I will wait just a little more on horrid to post before I decide to write mine.

Just about two days ago completed FEAR Perseus Mandate (the last of the original trilogy) and it was great. Very good game! Moving on to the FEAR 2: Project Origin 😎

Been playing C&C Generals (Zero Hour) for some time also. I never get bored from playing that game. It is one of my first and best RTS games ever!

Sorry for not writing something a earlier I got a new job and it was taking up a lot of my time. Next the crew of the dauntless plans to analyze the tentacle they took and the decrypt the data they copied but I have no idea what they will find (of if the data is intact)

No problem. Just take your time. Quality is more important here anyway, than quantity.
Now about that data, I would say it is the best that your character managed to recover only a pieces of it since the majority of data should be in ops where my characters are heading atm. Once my characters manage to reach the ops and deal with anything that might be awaiting on them there (hint: giant life signatures  ), then the most of the data will be revealed. I hope that’s ok.

Glad you like it. I’m really having a good time incorporating personal story of the character with the DS3 station. I hope Captain won’t find out but you never know, story twists could go anywhere : )

Yes, it’s very enjoyable to write this story for me as well. This is as I said, actually a reboot of already written RP on original STO forum back in 2009/2010. close to the launch of the game, but this time it is starting to develop even better and aliens also seem more aggressive and horrifying as well

I only hope that Kylar and horrid will post something soon too, and that the new people will join also.

Btw good that your captain is heading to starbase 514, because later in story, that will be most likely our base of operations 😎

I think you haven’t mentioned sickbay specifically as the location of the large entities. You said key parts of stations like on engineering deck, hangar bays, ops. I will edit my post and transport them to personal quarters of Doctor Tahna.

True, but the sickbay can be also considered one of key points, however the station may have more of them so I’ll leave this choice up to you to made. Since there is only two of your characters, I wouldn’t recommend sending them in fight with ”boss” creatures. There must be at least four of characters plus dozens of redshirts in order to fight those things. Yep, they are really badass

WOW !!! GREAT storyline. Wish I could type like you guys do. ENJOY reading it. Cant wait to see what happens.

Thank you very much! The next thing(s) that are going to happen will be even more horrifying

    @Damix
: Wow! Beaming straight to sickbay I see? You’re officers will have pretty hard time getting out of there, since if you remember there is one of the larger life sign signatures Dragonstar detected. I suggest you correct that and beam yourself in the vicinity of sickbay if you don’t want to give your characters insta-death

Once you reach the sickbay I will give you description of what your characters will see and fight there. The creatures are very different from one another and their forms may vary, but not by much. Some will probably have more tentacles, while other may have more legs or eyes.
One more thing. The corrosive liquid isn’t their blood, but rather their weapon (like a venom in snakes for example). So that liquid is purple colored with a slight glow to it (like some radioactive materials), while their blood is yellow and it is not corrosive, but it is dangerous in other way which I’m not gonna reveal yet as it would be an extremely huge spoiler
And since I’ve noticed that I haven’t described color of the creatures, I’m gonna tell it now. The creatures don’t have skin and their flesh is crimson-black. On some of their tentacles they carry translucent pockets which contain the corrosive fluid I mentioned earlier. And that’s pretty much all I could think of now and besides, I don’t want to reveal any more information so I don’t spoil the story any further. Hope this will do

Btw it is very likely that in my next post I’m going to introduce (one of) their ships which do resemble their appearances 😎

It took some time for the Sirius to speak after he and his team saw what happened to one of their security officers. Lissan pointed her tricoder to a remains of young officer and his phaser rifle that was damaged by purplish corrosive fluid.

Sirius with lowered voice said to them: Everyone stick closer together and move faster. We can’t take any more chances or we’ll all get killed.

Then he tapped his commbadge to hail their ship once again: Sirius to Dragonstar! Please confirm the negative readings for a life signs aboard station?

Scarlett replied to him in her usual tone of voice: There are none, captain. Why do you ask?

Are you one hundred percent sure about that? Because it looks like we are not alone here. Something just killed ensign Sanchez. – Sirius explained the situation to her.

I’m positive, there are no other life signs except for yours… – a console beeped just then informing her of new lifeforms. Wait the second! I’m just getting readings of several Romulans on the station.

Those are probably the ones from the Warbird that followed us. – logically concluded Sirius before asking next question: Where exactly on the station are they anyway?

They are on completely other side. You shouldn’t have any problems with them. – Scarlett confidently answered to him.

Well, I didn’t said we will. However, we might have a very big problems with whatever that killed Mr. Sanchez. So I need to be sure if there are any more of those creatures on station aside from that one. – Sirius was trying to explain the best he could.

Scarlett immediately responded to him while typing at her console: I’m sorry, sir, but our sensors are not getting anything else besides you and the Romulans.

Yes, but that’s not possible, since we all just witnessed a brutal slaughter of our officer. – protested Sirius before another idea came to his mind: Perhaps if you would scan the station again, but this time by using focused multi-frequency beam. Those creatures might have some sort of masking their signatures, so the only question now is how strong their camouflage really is.

Scarlett replied after a bit of thinking: Alright. I’ll try to do that sir.

Good! If you find anything notify me at once. Sirius out. – after he said that, Sirius ended communication and addressed his team: Alright people, let’s move out of here fast!

Everyone started moving then quickly towards the turbolift that was just a few meters away ahead of them. While they were moving suddenly a large tentacle popped up from the ceiling and tried to grab M’Toui, but he quickly dodged it and severed it with his bat’leth. A yellow blood started pouring out of it and creature quickly retracted back it’s tentacle before M’Toui could damage it even more.

That was close. – M’Toui sighed with an expression of surprise on his face.

Lissan looked down at the floor and said: At least now we have a piece of that thing.

Don’t touch it with bare hands. – Sirius quickly warned her when she reached for the severed part of tentacle covered with yellow blood. Here, take the gloves. – Sirius handed her a padded gloves.

Right after she putted on the gloves on her hands, she took the tentacle part and put it into the sample box which one of their teammates held.

Just a moment later, Sirius’ commbadge chirped and Scarlett voice was heard over it: Lieutenant Miyazaki to captain Verax!

Go ahead lieutenant. – Sirius said to her almost instantly.

Scarlett started explaining then: I’ve managed to get some additional readings on the life signs using your method, sir. However, you will not like the results.

Why not? – Sirius asked her.

Scarlett resumed: Aside from your and Romulan life signs, there are thirty more of unknown ones spread throughout the entire station. To make things worse, some of them are really huge, and those ones are usually in the key parts of stations like on engineering deck, hangar bays…

Ops? – Sirius interrupted her with an expression of serious concern on his face and in his voice too.

Yes. – Scarlett replied to him.

Before he spoke again, Sirius let out a deep sigh: Alright, we’ll do what we can since we need to get more information about this whole situation. However, be ready to beam us out at any moment. Also, send a message to the all ships that responded to our hail about what we came across and tell them to hurry up.

Aye, captain. – Scarlett acknowledged his orders and then she closed communications channel.

Meanwhile, Sirius and others managed to get to the turbolift without further incidents. However, when they opened the doors, turbolift wasn’t there anymore.

This just keeps getting better and better. – Sirius sarcastically said while looking in the empty turbolift shaft.

Daniel: Don’t worry sir, I’ll try to call turbolift.

Good, just hurry up. I want to leave this place as soon as I can. – Sirius was becoming nervous which was understanble given the position they were in. Others shared his feelings too and Daniel expressed that verbally: Believe me or not captain, we all want that.

After trying several times to get the turbolift to pick them up, Daniel finally gave up and said: I’m sorry captain, but this damned thing won’t move. It looks like we’ll have to go by ladder after all.

Yes, it appears we will. I just hope they are still in one piece. – M’Toui added right before they entered the shaft and started climbing up the ladders.

How many decks we have to go up? – one of the engineering officers asked them while they were climbing.

Lissan was first to answer him: About ten I think.

Pfff…, that’s just great. My arms will fall off before we get there. – Daniel complained.

Tell me about it. – one of the female security officers agreed with him.

Sirius then expressed his opinion: As long as they don’t get torn off by one of those creatures we’ll be fine I think.

They will not live enough to do that, when I cut them apart with my bat’leth! – M’Toui said with determination and bravery in his voice.

I hope you’re right about that lieutenant. – Daniel added with a dose of skepticism, right before they heard something moving through the shaft.

Wait, be silent! – Lissan said a little louder to warn them about possible impending danger, but still low enough not to reveal their position.

Daniel then quickly asked her with almost whispering tone of his voice: What is it first?

I’m not sure, but I think I’ve heard something moving down the shaft. – Lissan replied with an obvious expression of fear in her voice.

The moment after she said that, Sirius uttered: Well, let’s hurry up then people.

As they started to climb faster than before, a noise of movement below them started getting louder and louder, until they were finally able to saw the glimpse of a creature that has been closing fast on their position. The last one of team members in the row climbing up the ladders was a middle-aged security officer which pointed his flashlight down the shaft so he could see the creature. Everyone, look down there! – he said terrified by the sight.
When Sirius and everyone else turned their heads down towards the direction of flashlight’s beam, they could see a shape which looked like it came straight from hell. A creature that was moving towards them had a cone-like shaped head with several yellow and red eyes. From it’s head extended six very long limbs which were supposedly it’s legs, accompanied by a dozen of various tentacles. Some tentacles had sharp spikes on them, while others had mouth at their ends containing dozens of sharp needle-like teeth.

Once the creature came dangerously near to them, Sirius yelled: Ok, fire at that thing everything you have! Now!

A bolts of phaser and disruptor discharges were quickly fired by all of the team members while they were holding onto the ladders with one hand simultaneously. It slowed down creature, but it couldn’t do a serious harm to it. At the same time creature prolonged one of it’s tentacles and threw the security officer holding flashlight down the shaft by cutting of his both arms. Only his scream could be heard when he started falling down the shaft, but before he could have fallen any further, creature picked him up with tentacles that had mouth on their ends, and ripped the poor officer apart with them. It was truly a sight of ultimate horror for Sirius and his crew mates.

Increase power settings! – yelled M’Toui while raising the power setting to maximum on his disruptor assault minigun. Others listened to him and did the same with their weapons increasing effectiveness of damage dealing to a creature. After some time, they’ve managed to cut off few tentacles and two limbs, what sent creature falling back down the shaft.

Finally! – exclaimed Daniel visibly sweating from fear.

Yes we did, but let’s get out of this shaft before that thing returns for a revenge. – Sirius said and everyone including him continued their ascent towards the deck on which station’s ops were.

    To be continued…

(OOC: As you could read, I finally revealed how one of the creatures looks like and some of it’s capabilities. In the next post I will probably reveal one of their ships too and one of these ”boss” creatures. Unfortunately I haven’t come up with some name for them yet, so we’ll just have to call them things/creatures for now. Hope you like the story so far  )

I think I’ll go with FED tactical or science. I’m not sure yet which one to chose, because I already have ROM tactical (FED side). However, I’m more fond of escorts than science vessels, so I’ll probably go with the first choice. Might as well make a KDF character. Who knows

Babylon 5 would be at the top of my list, second to TNG. Seasons 2-4 are fantastic. The Vorlons, Kosh really, are cool, but Morden and the Shadows are more interesting to me.

SG1, Atlantis, Space: Above and Beyond, Seaquest, Sliders, Treks, Firefly… there’s probably more I liked but can’t think of.

Yes, now that I’m almost finished with B5 I can say that it is one of my top 5 shows. And yes, Shadows are very interesting too, but when I saw movie Thirdspace, those aliens called Harbingers became my favorite (yes, it has something to do with Lovecraftian monsters and Cthulhu  ). Too bad they weren’t used anymore.

Babylon 5 still absolute on top, Dr Who, Star Trek (era depending on my mood), BSG old and new, Farscape, Firefly… the usual suspects.
Very fond of Stargate Atlantis too – I always liken it to a pre-ENT era Star Trek. I even like Stargate Universe; real pity they cancelled that just when it seems to really take of.

I watch Defiance when I see it, but not really hooked enough to actively follow/record it.

Yes, it is said how SGU ended, and while I don’t think it’s possible anymore, I still have a little hope that in the future they might continue it’s story. I would be satisfied with two more season, and perhaps even with one to wrap things up properly.

    EDIT: And now, the continuation!

    Deep Space 3

Sirius and his officer were transported from USS Dragonstar to Deep Space 3 station. While they were aware that station was attacked, they had no idea what was awaiting them until they have seen it with their own eyes.

What the hell happened here?! – Sirius said with an expression of shock and disbelief on his face, and in his voice as well.

Lissan said to him with a lowered tone of voice: I’m not sure, but whoever or whatever did this must have had incredible amount of rage.

One of the younger female security officers that arrived with them threw up at the sight of dismembered body parts and spilled blood over the corridor. At the same time, one of her teammates jumped to help her and asked her if she was ok. I’ll be fine. – she replied to him after wiping her mouth with hand.

Meanwhile, Lissan pulled out his tricoder and started scanning all around the place, when Sirius addressed his away team members: Alright people, listen up! It seems that we are dealing with very malevolent beings or whatever have done this and I suppose you are in lot of fear now, myself included, but we have to investigate how and when this happened. Therefor I want you to be extremely careful and to not separate at all cost, because while we don’t know if some of the attackers are still here or not, we do know that station is severely damaged and that some of corridors are open to a vacuum of space, or simply non-existant anymore. Also, if you find anything suspicious notify me about it immediately and if you are attacked do not hesitate to call for help. Whatever we are dealing with here is extremely dangerous, so I suggest you to keep your eyes and ears wide open, and your weapons prepared. In case we find ourselves in more trouble than we can handle, I’m going to call a Dragonstar for emergency beam out. Is that clear?

Yes sir! – everyone acknowledged his orders aloud.

Alright, let’s get to work now. – Sirius said more for himself before turning towards Lissan: What do you got, Number one?

Reading an incoming data from her tricoder display, Lissan replied to him: According to this readings these are remains of station’s personnel. Most of them were teared apart by sheer force, while some have a serious bite marks, and others were spilled with the same corrosive liquid which Mrs. Miyazaki detected on the hull of station.

Just what I was afraid off. – Sirius stated with an expression of deep concern in his voice. Then he reached with his right hand to his communicator to hail Dragonstar: Subcommander, are you there?

I’m here captain! How can I be of assistance? – a cold feminine voice was heard over Sirius’ commbadge.

Sirius made a deep sigh while trying to think what to say: I don’t know how to put it, but whatever we are dealing with here is beyond anything we have ever encountered so far. Perhaps Mrs. Mizayaki was right after all, and while we haven’t found out enough of clues yet about it, with this little data we have, I’m afraid all hell has broken lose already.

I understand. Is there something else you needed, sir? – T’Luminareth asked while trying not to reveal any signs of distress in her voice.

After a brief moment of thinking, Sirius replied: Yes I did. We are going to further investigate this…slaughter, and I want you to keep tracking our life signs, as well to be ready to give us emergency beam out if need arise. And be on lookout for hostile ships, because they might arrive anytime.

Acknowledged sir. – T’Luminareth said, before Sirius concluded their conversation: Alright, we’ll send you more info later, and you will immediately notify us when Curtana or any other of our ships arrive in the system. It seems we will need more help very fast and very soon. Sirius out!

When he closed communication with Dragonstar, Lissan spoke: Captain, I suggest that we head for the station’s ops. We should find more information there.

I agree. – Sirius said to her with a brief nod of his head. Alright people, let’s move carefully towards the nearest turbolift. Follow us! – he ordered and then the whole away team started moving throughout the messy corridors. While they were moving slowly and carefully, they still couldn’t anticipate that something was closing to them at the fast pace. When they passed one of the corridor crossings, something quickly moved behind them. For a brief moment, M’Toui noticed a large shadow with several limbs and tentacles that moved quickly behind corner.
Captain, I believe that something is preying on us. – he said while pulling the bat’leth from his back.

Yeah, I’ve noticed it too. – Sheppard whispered with an obvious expression of fear on his face.

Sirius quickly ordered to them with somewhat lowered voice then his usual when he gave orders: Everyone in circle formation back to back, now.

Only a second later, they were all standing back to back and shoulder to shoulder, prepared for anything that might occur next. Or maybe not…
Suddenly something grabbed one of the younger security officers and quickly pulled him in the darkness through the ceiling. The rest of the away team could only hear his scream and moment later there was a stream of blood dripping at the floor. Terrified by the event, everyone stood still and speechless.

Chapter 1: Horror of the unknown

USS Dragonstar has been less than 15 minutes away from her destination – Deep Space 3 station. Her crew was prepared for anything that might be awaiting on them ahead.

Scarlett Miyazaki initiated another tachyon sweep, but like the last few times, she expected that nothing would show up. She knew she was wrong the moment her console beeped and showed her something she didn’t expected. Captain, I’m detecting a cloaked Romulan warbird on a course to Deep Space 3. – she said.

Suprised to hear that, Sirius asked: Romulans?! What could they possibly do in this part of space?

His first officer Lissan responded to him while trying to explain that to herself at the same time: Perhaps they intercepted your transmission about communications blackout with the station, and they decided to investigate.

Yes, perhaps that is right. – Sirius agreed with her before she asked him: Should we contact them sir?

After a little bit of thinking Sirius replied: No, at least not yet. Let them think we don’t know they are there at all and proceed with our mission on hand. We can’t let anything to distract us at the moment and I’m sure that Romulans will mind their own business if it is a simple communications problem.

Captain is right. We can’t be bothered by anything else right now. – T’Luminareth said without showing any interest in Romulan ship, after which Scarlett asked: Should I at least track Romulan vessel sir?

Yes, you do that, but don’t forget to keep scanning for that anomaly. – Sirius answered to her.

Scarlett nodded to him and kept scanning for anomaly while tracking Romulan warbird at the same time.
About 8 minutes later Dragonstar dropped out of warp just about 100 000 kilometers away from Deep Space 3 station.

What the hell?! – Sirius said with an expression of disbelief on his face as soon as the station appeared at Dragonstar’s viewscreen while getting up from his chair at the same time. Mr. Lukin, focus the view on station, maximum magnification. – he ordered to him, and Bronar zoomed at the station making her seem closer to the everyone on bridge.

The view shocked them all. Station seemed heavily damaged. She had countless scars all over her hull, some of her parts were floating around her, and all of her lighting was gone.

After a longer period of silence, Sirius turned towards Scarlett: I want full scan of the station, including tachyon sweep.

Aye sir! – Scarlett acknowledged and started typing next set of commands in her console.

Sirius then approached to seat of young Cardassian at the helm console: Mr. Lukin, try to hail the station. Maybe there is still someone to explain us what happened to them.

A few moments later, after several unsuccessful tries to open hailing frequency Bronar turned his head towards Sirius and said: I’m sorry, sir, but they are not responding.

Before Sirius could say anything Scarlett finished her scan: I have completed scan of the station sir. It appears they were in heavy firefight. There are multiple hull breaches, and their power has been almost completely drained.
I’m also reading unknown weapon signatures and remains of some kind of highly corrosive liquid at the hull.

What about the life signs? – Sirius asked with a tone of high concern in his voice.

None. – Scarlett replied to him leaving everyone on the bridge terrified including herself.

What do you mean none? There were more than 1000 of people aboard! – Sirius was completely shocked by this revelation.

I’m sorry captain, but our sensors are not reading anyone there. – Scarlett confirmed her sensor readings once again.

Sirius let out the deep sigh, before asking another question: Is life support still operational?

It is, but only in central parts of station, while most of the other areas are open to vacuum of space. – Scarlett answered to him.

Very well. – Sirius said before issuing next orders: Mr. M’Toui and Mr. Sheppard, assemble an away team and meet me in the transporter room 1. We are going to investigate what happened there and how.

Aye sir! – they both confirmed his orders and left the bridge and Sirius then turned towards Lissan: Number One, the bridge…

Lissan suddenly interrupted him: I’m apologize for interrupting, but I should go with you sir.

After moment of thinking about it he said: Alright. Mrs. T’Luminareth, you have the bridge then. As for you Mrs. Miyazaki, I want you to keep scanning this sector and continue doing tachyon sweeps. In case you notice anything unsual, or if attackers return report it to us immediately. (then he turns towards ensign Lukin) Mr. Lukin, as soon as Curtana arrives, notify them about situation.

Everyone acknowledged his commands and Sirius then left the bridge too, along with his first officer Lissan Endilev. Once Sirius entered his quarters, he quickly put got out of his uniform so he can put his personal armor beneath it. When he put his uniform back, Sirius took his personal shield emitter, two phaser guns, combat knife and a phaser assault rifle. Before storming out from his quarters he drank quickly a glass of Jagermaister he had in one of his cabinets. It took him about 2 minutes to arrive to the transporter room 1 and as soon as everyone was on transporter platform he asked: Everyone ready?

Most of his officers nodded to him, while M’Toui said with his sharp voice in Klingon: SuH!
Alright then. Energize! – Sirius ordered to transporter officer after what he and his officers started being dematerialized from Dragonstar’s transporter room and slowly rematerialized at one of the Deep Space 3 corridors.
When the teleportation was completed, all the members of away team team looked around themselves, and the sight they were seeing was extremely gruesome, even to Klingon security officer. Station’s bulkheads have been severely corroded, conduits were hanging from the ceiling and the walls, and the most terrifying things of all were enourmous amounts of blood and scattered body parts all around. It was truly the sight of horror, which could be easily read from expression of away team members. All of them have been left speechless by the sight they were seeing, except for the Sirius who just said: What the hell happened here?!

I added warp core to Bajoran ship. It is not canon so this prototype is Mk I, with maximum warp 5. Hope that is ok?

Cool. Join as soon as you can, because we’ll be going to action very soon and your character might be very useful in certain events.

Well, I was thinking about that option too, but since I’m more fond of Atlantis (don’t kill me for that, I like Firefly too  ), I decided to make her my science officer/doctor. But she’s good either way
