Here is your 57th Sunday Supplemental for August 8th 2021.

This is how we communicate between our (4) Fed and (2) KDF fleets. It isn’t a rule or requirement, but things will seem very quiet in the fleet without it.

Fleet Housekeeping
Howdy folks, I have quite a bit of important roster info to share in this housekeeping. In the next coming days and weeks, we (Breakingforce mainly 🙂 ) will be sending out comms to members who are severely over the character limits for the various 44th Fleets letting them know that they will need to select some of their characters for reassignment across the other 44th Fleets.
As a reminder, here are the current character limits by Fleet:
Federation Fleets Character Limit KDF Fleets Character Limit 44th Fleet 2 44th Assault Squadron 3 44th Delta Fleet 3 44th Honour Guard No Current Limit (Within Reason) 44th Gamma Fleet 3 44th Epsilon Fleet No Current Limit (Within Reason) So, you may be asking why we are doing this now. Well, the simple answer is that 44th Epsilon’s and Honour Guard’s rosters are filling up fast (it is only a year old) and we feel that it would be best to get our roster in order and have a better and more fair distribution of characters rather than slap a band aid (or a plaster if you are British) on things by creating yet another 44th “insert name” Fleet.
Keep in mind that the ONLY reason we have so many fleets is because there is a 500 character cap on the fleet roster and the Mighty 44th has grown quite large over the last decade! If it were up to us, we would only have one Fed fleet and one KDF fleet. Unfortunately, we have limited space to work with and we want to give all of our members fair access to all of our fleets.
So in addition to asking members with too many characters in a particular fleet to spread them out more, we are also asking that ANY member who has made it to the rank of Commander ALSO spread their characters around our various holdings as well.
The character limits exist not only so that you know how many characters you can have in a fleet, but also how many you can put into a fleet. And we DO want you to put your characters in the other fleets so that poor Epsilon doesn’t overflow 😀
So as always, just let us know (whether it be in Discord, in the 44th-diplo or here on the forums) which characters you want to go where. We will ask you to leave your current fleet and invite your character(s) to the fleet(s) of your choosing. Easy peasy.
And just to clarify further. You won’t hear from us now unless you are severely over the roster limit by something between 8 or 16 characters in one fleet. If you are in one of the fleets with no current character limit, you are fine. But we do encourage you to spread your characters around.

The Captain Fleet Rank
In the past the Admiralty has (and still does) nominate members for promotion to Captain. In the 44th Fleet, the rank of Captain has generally been awarded as a “thank you” to fleet members who have gone above and beyond. This includes large contributions of dilithium, doffs, expertise, EC, etc. Or consistently helping other fleet members with missions or teaming up for TFOs. Crafting items for fleet members. Demonstrating unselfish generosity. Offering to help fleet members get their new alts into the fleet. Answering fleet members questions and trying to help out in general. Has been active in the fleet for several months. The list goes on and on……
The current and official criteria are the following:
Since the criteria have not been all that clear and because we have such a large and active fleet, some deserving individuals may have been overlooked. So, if you feel that you or someone you know in the 44th isn’t a Captain and you feel you or they deserve to be, feel free to contact an Admiralty member and tell us about it. We will certainly look into it.

Yes folks, please keep an eye on your alts and spread them around a bit. And repeating it once more, there is ZERO difference having your character(s) in several fleets as it has no impact on your rank, access or other priviliges – it’s a pure roster space issue (thank you Cryptic).
We’ve been asking Cryptic to expand the roster from 500 to 750 or even 1000 for years now to no avail. Cryptic figures it’s a relative easy database tweak but since there are so few super-large fleets (…) it’s not worth their trouble. Plus for them it’s more lucrative to have us create a new fleet since it requires upgrading which means more playtime required which means more customers online.
I don’t begrudge Cryptic an income (STO is free2play afterall) but it does gets annoying doing even more paperwork each year we create a new fleet.
The Fleet Starbase personnel office down the hall is already stacking their PADDS two decks up.
