- Why join the Mighty 44th? I’m looking for a fleet to allow me to get into higher tier ships so that I can get into PVP. I’ve had troubles finding PVP matches as well, so I figured a fleet would help with matchups as well! I’ve got a level 65 Tac Officer, but do not know much about meta. I’ve just started looking into builds.
- Tell us about yourself: I’m career-oriented in my late-20s, so I don’t have a ton of time, but do try and log in an hour or so each night. Definitely more on the casual side, normally watch one of the series while I play.

Join our 44th chat channel “44th-diplo” by typing the following into the chat window: /channel_join 44th-diplo.
This is used to communicate with our 44th Fleet, 44th Delta Fleet, 44th Gamma Fleet, 44th Epsilon Fleet, as well as our KDF fleets; 44th Assault Squadron and 44th Honour Guard – we don’t use the in-game fleet channel. We are six fleets acting as one.
As a new 44th Fleet Ensign you will be stationed for 6 weeks in the 44th Epsilon Fleet, while KDF warriors are assigned to our 44th Honour Guard for 6 weeks. For a promotion to Lieutenant and fleet store unlock you just need to meet 2 requirements:
1) Must have either logged into the game or posted on our 44th forum at least once during the review period of 2 weeks (which starts today);
2) Must be in good standing with the fleet.The fleet rank of Commander is earned after you’ve been with us for 6 weeks. Upon earning this rank, up to two of your characters can be transferred into 44th Fleet or 44th Assault Squadron, and up to three can be put into 44th Delta Fleet or 44th Gamma Fleet at your discretion. Our promotion schedule is hosted publicly at our Trello Board.

Hi Dan,
PvP is overall on a low burner in the game due to a certain trait imbalance – you’re at a real disadvantage if you don’t have the Invincible trait for example – but we can certainly help to get the max out of your build. +100K DPS is doable if you are committed enough!

One thing I’ll mention, though, on the chance that you haven’t heard it yet.
PvP in modern STO is less than an afterthought. I guess you could consider Competitive Wargames PvP of a sort, but that’d be stretching it a bit. And, of course, Exchange PvP (who can make ec the fastest?!). Beyond those, all PvP in modern STO is privately organized matches, gives no rewards (beyond whatever the player organizing the pvp might offer), and isn’t really balanced for (as far as I can tell).
At launch, the game had (iirc) non-consensual PvP, but you had to fly KDF to initiate it. KDF were the PvP faction. They didn’t have missions and I don’t think they could really run tfo’s or any other content. But those days are gone. Mostly for the good, but not so much for those who WANT PvP.
To your intention to get higher tier ships for PvP, while you can get fleet t5 and t6 ships from us (once you hit Lt, after two weeks in the fleet), and those ships do have an additional console slot over their baseline counterparts, they also don’t have the unlockable starship traits or universal consoles their baseline counterparts would give you access to. With one exception. The Dranuur Scout Ship, which doesn’t exist as a non-fleet ship, and so comes with both.
If you do stick around, we can help you get a better grasp on the game’s mechanics, help with builds, etc. Which will help if you can find any PvP to participate in. And you’ll get access to fleet gear and ships (again, when you hit Lt)
