- Why join the Mighty 44th? My current fleet doesnt help me to understand the gameenough to do most of anything. I have been playing for a few years now and am almost level 64 but i have a hard time with missions especially against the borg. Im looking to learn more and do events with people to get better

Join our 44th chat channel “44th-diplo” by typing the following into the chat window: /channel_join 44th-diplo.
This is used to communicate with our 44th Fleet, 44th Delta Fleet, 44th Gamma Fleet and our 44th Assault Squadron (KDF) – we don’t use the in-game fleet channel. We are four fleets acting as one.
As a new 44th Fleet Ensign you will be stationed for 6 weeks in the 44th Delta Fleet, (KDF’s go directly to our 44th Assault Sqn). For a promotion to Lieutenant and fleet store unlock you just need to meet 2 requirements:
1) Must have either logged into the game or posted on our 44th forum at least once during the review period of 2 weeks (which starts today);
2) Must be in good standing with the fleet.The fleet rank of Commander is earned after you’ve been with us for 6 weeks. Upon earning this rank, up to two of your characters can be transferred into 44th Fleet, and up to three can be put into 44th Delta Fleet at your discretion. Our promotion schedule is hosted publicly at our Trello Board.

Welcome to the 44th!
It sounds like the “mechanics guides” linked in Akula’s post (which were typed up by one of our Admirals, Paradoxical, and are still very valid information), might be a good place to start your exploration on how to STO well. Also, maybe take a look at our New Players Guide/FAQ, which, while parts are maybe a bit out of date, is still overall pretty good advice. In particular, take a look at the section on Keybinds (the “How do I get (much) better in space combat?” question).
Next, if you join us in our discord server, there are always people hanging out there who can answer most questions you may have.
Finally, one of our guiding philosophies is “the only dumb question is the one you don’t know the answer to and don’t ask,” so if you’re curious or confused about something, by all means speak up here on the forums, in in-game chat, or on our discord.
We have a lot of members who are willing to help with information and advice, physically being a wingman in missions that allow it or tfo’s, with crafted gear, etc. etc.
As for the Borg, I contend that they’re a really badly designed enemy. Their big skill is just periodically saying “no” to you having any shields at all. There are ways to mitigate this ability to some extent, but as with most things in STO, if you can kill them fast enough, it becomes less of an issue to deal with 🙂

Hello Darrell, welcome aboard.
As said above, we can help you level up and generally improve your build so that the game becomes more fun instead of a struggle – exactly that is the core business of the 44th !
So congratulations, melting Borg cubes will become much more fun and easier from now on 🙂

First welcome aboard as @BreakingForce, you can beat the Borg and you will find this is a great Fleet to learn, get help, etc.. There always seems that there is someone on who is willing to help.
They even put up with Grumpy Old Klingons like me 🙂
