- Previous fleets: 4th Republic, hopped through two disappointments over the last week (cannot remember those names).
- Why join the Mighty 44th? A mysterious stranger whose name I cannot remember recommended the 44th. I had offered 1M EC to whoever could help me find a good fleet, he turned down the EC but gave me your info. The moment I clicked the link for your site, I knew immediately that this is where I wanted to be, that kind of effort never fails to impress me.
I’m tired of the mostly inactive, half-baked attempts at STO guilds. I’m tired of always having the burden of building someone’s group for them thrust upon my shoulders. I feel that here, I can maybe finally be a regular guy making friends and having fun in a game. The 44th seems to be a properly managed, fully functional MMO force of nature… that’s something I want in on.
- Tell us about yourself: I’ve been playing STO off and on since 2014 but haven’t gone all in, until a few months ago. I have played other MMOs like EVE Online, FFXIV and I guess PlanetSide 2 if one can consider that an MMO. I played EVE for 8 years, was recruitment director for a mid-sized “Goonswarm Federation” corporation. I got burned after taking a break because “In EVE there are no friends, only present or future enemies”. So 8 years of gaming wasted and a lesson learned haha.
IRL I am a Disabled Army Vet with PTSD and Schizoid Personality Disorder, probably too much information but I don’t care really. Basically with the whole Schizoid thing, it’s nearly impossible for me to form connections with other people.. it does and can happen, just takes time. MMOs have been my way of interacting with people (because my brain is still human and occasionally needs socialization) without all the social pressure to look and act a certain way… and all from the comfort of my home.
It doesn’t take too long for me to open up, if I see people on comms I’ll hop in with them but I’ll never be the first. I do not censor myself but I’m good at reading a room (I don’t curse like a sailor). I try my best to not offend and I can count on one hand the times I’ve offended people in my life. Even if I don’t like someone, I am always nice. Every human being deserves respect and dignity right up until the jury finds them guilty 😉
I like long walks on the beach under the pale moonlight, getting caught in the rain and blowing stuff up is fun.
