So I have played Romulan, Fed, and Klingon characters. Each seem to have advantages and disadvantages. My question is what happens after level 50? Right now, you cant level up after that and that seems to take the enjoyment away. How do you keep the game interesting after level 50?

You start grinding the four reputations, get better gear, then get even more gear.

Maybe you do some Pvping, then you just keep your toons up to date, maybe abandon a character or two. That’s pretty much it.

Setting goals helps a lot once you hit 50. I have 4 alts at level 50, so I decided to get all of them lobi ships. I’m now working on all tier 5 rep. Sponsoring makes that super easy and I’ll have to find another goal.

The game is what you make of it.

Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." - Marcus Cole, Babylon 5

For me it’s building the best “builds”; best toons, best ships, best skill tree etc.
I have a Fed, KDF and Rom KDF all at level 50 and with all tiers complete (close on Dyson); each Reputation completed gives access to better weapons, gear and kits. Try them all out and match your alt accordingly.

For example you can totally re-do a character and turn it into a power drain (“leech”) build, a tank build or a pure DPS murder boat captain. Switch ships and let your sci character pilot an escort.

You could also go accolade hunting; kill x amount of Jem’Hadar, investigate x amount of anomalies, execute some wicked space maneuver etc etc. There’s still so much to do and discover “out there”!

Once you completed all Reputations and reached level 50, the game really takes off 😀

For me it is bit of this and that… and there is always something new around the corner that they are releasing. I always keep small goal or two, like getting zen to buy some ship, now it is farming for fleet credits for new consoles, i love the doff aspect of the game, and it is a shame it isn’t developed more. I have 3 chars, 3 different ships. STO has plenty of small details all around that are easy to miss. I think that is why i like it.

One of the things I’m doing is patrol missions in all the sector blocks. Just making sure I hit every planet so I can say I did so…
