i will go first to let you know what i am interested in knowing about your crew.
FED
i have 2 characters on the fed side, a male human tac and a female vulcan sci. the human is Sargon, my main.i started my sci, Shar’Kali, for pvp primarily, but have come to appreciate playing a sci character all around. i pretty much just pug pvp anymore for the dilithium.
KDF
on the kdf side i have a female klingon tac and a male romulan engineer. my klingon is Auloh. i used a klingon name generator and loaded it with my wife’s name (Stephanie) and some other info and Auloh is what came out. my primary ship for Auloh is named Sar’Gon to help associate this character with my main.i decided to go with a male romulan as an engineer. i named him “Sargun” i really wanted those ground toys. so far i like. can’t wait to get orbital strike. i am also really liking the romulan part of the game so far. i have not made it far since there has been so much maintenance.
basically, i have a very balanced group. 1 male and female on each side all different races. not sure about grinding for 4 characters. i am in no hurry for sure.
i play all characters and don’t use any just for farming.
and now for the lowly end of the spectrum…..
I have an engineer, Sabre, for my fed char. He’s currently flying a Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier which I’m starting to lean towards PvP rather than PvE.
My Klink is a tac, Torok, and he’s having a lot of fun in a Fleet Norgh BoP. I’ve always intended this char to PvP but I’ve still got a long way to go with the rep system, fleet weapons etc etc.
As for a Rom/Reman, well if I do it’ll be a sci allied to the KDF to take advantage of the elite fleet weapons. But at the rate I’m going it will probably be about 2015 when I get there.

FED – Jerin, male Trill Science officer, the one that has almost all accolades and will one they have maximum crafting. I hope I won’t spoil him with all the attention he gets over my alts. He is currently flying Narcine but plan is to return to science ships when Secondary deflectors come to life. You can check his biography if you see my on ground map.
ROM – Damix, male Reman Tactical officer, my second toon created, allied with kdf so he can get access to contraband missions and Elite Disruptors.
KDF – Garwan, male Klingon Tactical officer, created when KDF faction got new tutorial. As I already had 2 toons, I created him just to try out the new story where I would walk next to legendary Worf. But in the end I maximized all reputations with this toon too as I really liked flying kdf ships.
So I’m missing Female and Engineer career. So that will be the next step in order to cover all areas. Current plan is to roll Bajoran toon inspired by Ro Laren, my favorite Bajoran. I was thinking of doing it during this xp boost period but I will postpone it as I don’t have enough Zen to buy those character slots and I will have enough things to do when DR goes live with current number of characters.
I used to have more alts, but I decided to keep and focus on just these three.
And they are spoiled rotten. Maxed tiers on all, and each having a fleet of a dozen ships and a cadre of boffs to keep another dozen alts busy.Ardala is a female Andorian, inspired by one of the first STO art pictures coming out, showing an Andorian female security / Tac type on an away mission. Named after Buck Roger’s hottie princess which I was watching on an episode while installing my very first copy of STO. As such, I had no idea about racial traits or bonus abilities, I just went for the blue look. Andorians are tough in ground and that means she can hold her own in ground combat even being a sci.
I have about 16 ships on Ardala, but these are her fav ships; Gal-X Dread, Recluse, Flt Avenger, D’Kora.
Val’Kriss is a female alien KDF Tac. I tried a ‘real’ Klingon once, but I like the customization alien characters provide – you can model aliens to match any race, even Cardassian. Had I known this in the very beginning, Ardala would’ve been an alien as well. Named after Kruge’s lover/wife/boob-toy in Search for Spock, she’s my hardest hitting DPS focused alt.
Fav ships; Fleet Mogh, Jem Dread. (For a tac KDF I still don’t like to put her in BoPs, just not my playstyle).
Tishara, another female alien, is my Rom Sci. When Legacy of Romulus came out there was talk about a change to captain / racial traits. I gambled and made her alien, thinking that unique traits wouldn’t be so unique anymore; which was the wrong bet. In hindsight I should’ve made her a full Rom to take full advantage of Rom traits. Tishara was named after Tishara Lee Cousino, who was a lot hotter way back than today.
Fav ships; Scimitar, Fleet D’Deridex, Mirror Ha’nom.
"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."My focus is on my Federation Science Captain, T’Liis, as my main. When I first started playing at launch I created a human female Science Captain called Katy Janes who flew an Intrepid class (guess the inspiration?). However, I then was fortunate enough to enjoy the arrival of my little lad as a bouncing baby at the end of 2010 and I stopped playing STO for a couple of years.
When I came back so much had changed that I created a new alt to play the game through with, who ultimately turned into my main and has all overtaken the progress I had made previously with Katy J.
T’Liis is a female Vulcan Science Captain, shamlessly inspired by T’Pol (the lovely Jolene Blalock) from Enterprise. Using the character creator alongside a google image of T’Pol and Jolene’s stats (e.g. height) to get as close as I could within the limitations.
After maxing T’Liis I again took a decent break only coming back to STO in the summer this year and working my way through the new changes, including the LOR additions, the reputation mark system and the new R&D and DOFF systems.
I only have 3 ships, a science focussed Nebula (Fleet), a tactical focussed Chimera and my new Excelsior cruiser (Fleet). Currently really enjoying flying the Excelsior.
Li’ara is a female Orion KDF Tac. Recently hit level 50 and hardly spent much time with her at all, very much a casual alt to enable me to experience the KDF ships and storyline.
I have almost exclusively stuck to BOPs throughout the levelling process and rather enjoyed it as a change from what I am used to flying with T’Liis.
Kimara, another female and this time Romulan, also a Tac. Very much like Li’ara she is very much a casual alt with little focus who I am mainly playing to experience the Rom storyline and the different ship types. Also only just hit max level with her.
Not really feeling the Rom ships currently and still looking for the type I enjoy flying.
Finally, here is my token male alt who is an Engineer Captain called Quousi who is an Alien made in the image of a Bolian. Not much to be said, he is very back seat and occasionally I will level him a bit.
