Okay, today’s post means my lobi/lockbox ships get an auto upgrade. Otherwise it’s going to be 500-1000 Zen upgrade to get what amounts to a fleet ship stat boost. Most of the bells and whistles of tier 6 will be unavailable.
For some odd reason my Mobius doesn’t qualify for an upgrade while every other temporal ship does (hopefully a typo).
EDIT: The Mobius was added to the list of auto upgrade ships. Seems like I’ll be flying that while I level.
EDIT 2: Bonus XP event on calandar changed to end on October 14th. Seems like a good release date to me.

September 3, 2014 at 9:28 pm #160364Well… here are the latest release notes from Tribble:
New PVE Queue Difficulty Options:
– Standard Difficulty is unchanged.
Players level 51 – 60 will be scaled down to level 50 for this queue– Advanced Difficulty replaces what was previously called Elite.
Players level 51-60 will be scaled to level 60 for this queue.– Elite Queues are now level 60 versions of PVE queues.
Only level 60 players can queue for this difficulty setting.
***Currently, Borg: Disconnected is the only PVE queue with this setting.Hour long ESTF runs once we hit level 60. Also, this may have some implications for whether T5U/T5FU will actually be “competitive” with T6 at the new elite difficulty. Knowing this game, that just means higher HP enemies with more one shot kills…
In light of that, here’s the Delta Rising pack announcement: http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7003323

September 3, 2014 at 9:54 pm #160380Finally the difficulty change. It will be interesting to play the old content in order to see the difference between old and new elite.
After seeing the descriptions of T6 ships, I think I will not spend my ZEN on upgrading T5 ships…We still have to wait for the info about ship stats but I think I know where will my ZEN go,hehe. Hope they give us an option to buy upgrade tokens at the exchange.
September 3, 2014 at 10:25 pm #160381AndresFleet MemberI really hope some of those Tier 6 ships can be acquired freely for the FTP players or the Tier 5 ships become free and the Tier 6 pay only.
September 3, 2014 at 12:42 am #160382The Tier 6 Fed Eclipse and KDF Qib certainly caught my eye – that Fed Phantom is clearly an escort Defiant kit-bash sort of job; too much of a flying disc for my taste.
This new “Intelligence” feature sounds a lot like a Science vessels Sensor Analysis. What I’m a bit nervous about, regarding this new flashy Intelligence Boff trait, is that it’ll be a selectable on/off trait which they introduced with the Dyson ships; I hate giving up a Sci/Eng Boff power to activate a Tac power. Have to wait and see how that plays out.
So the Delta pack is priced 119 euros, which would equate to about 1250 zen, give or take – and I hope that pack will be available for zen at one time, just like the Legacy of Romulus pack, as I’m fanatically stockpiling zen, hoping I’ll have about 10,000 zen worth of dili by the time Delta goes live – rumor has it it’ll be Tuesday Oct 30th. Again, just a rumor, but sounds plausible (source: GandTshow podcast).
Andres, I think it’s going to cost FTP players – Cryptic has to make money somewhow 😉
I suggest you start stockpiling your dilithium for zen so you’ll be able to buy and upgrade your ships a month or so after Delta has gone live; by that time hopefully the zen/dili exchange rate will be more favourable, that’s what I’m gunning for anyway.
Re T5-U upgrade; I’m treating that in a similar fashion as we treat our current T5 Fleet ships; you have to buy those with 1-4 Fleet Ship Modules which costs zen (or dilithium converted to zen), or just ec on the exchange. With some luck the future T-5U token might be available via the exchange as well.
The Devs (Geko) said in several interviews they don’t really mind that Ship Modules or Lockbox Keys are being sold on the exchange as someone has to buy them (with $$$) in the first place to sell them there. So I’m mildly optimistic on that front.
"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."September 3, 2014 at 7:28 am #160383• 5/21 Legacy of Romulus went live.
• 7/18 Legacy Pack brought to c-storeSo you will have 2 months waiting time. Can you wait until next year to try out new ships? 🙂 I can’t tell for sure if I could wait, hehe.
But 12000/8 ships=1500 zen per t6 ship and you get those bonus items is really tempting.. They will earn a lot of money by selling the discounted pack in pre-launch period.Bonus Experience event ends in 10/14 so could be we will get an Expansion on that day. Hope it will be as you said so they can fix everything in time, clean the bugs.
Actually, I think prices of dil to Zen will now go up. When they announced the T5-u blog, prices went to 200dil per zen, than on 8/29 we got Zen sale (15%) and prices went to 176. Promotional time is over today and I can see less Zen on the market – prices going up with all the excess dilithium from CCE event. More t6 blogs will help with price of Zen going up. Hope I’m wrong.
September 3, 2014 at 9:39 am #160384I’m hoping that item upgrades will be tied to dilithium, or a new fleet holding tier (though I expect that to come later tbh). But crafting didn’t turn out to be an appealing dilitium sink like they wanted, so who knows.
They definitely want the conversion high, so I’m probably going to wait for T6 if there isn’t some major deflation.

September 3, 2014 at 2:26 pm #160385Based on the recent crafting revamp testing on Tribble, the Intelligence Boff abilities added today will be the powers we see at launch.
Short story, they’re mix of tactical and science abilities which are largely PvP centric (an AoE subnuc for example).
Link to come.

September 6, 2014 at 4:14 am #160388September 7, 2014 at 12:58 am #160386I am a master of procrastination and it may have been to my advantage rather than misfortune for a change. I don’t have a master plan that is going to allow me to hit the ground running when the latest expansion hits nut as it approaches I do have room to grow with all of my characters so I have something to do.
I have been a dinosaur in the meta since I started playing. I came to the party late (2012) and hadn’t collected the best gear there was to had then. I still haven’t managed to catch up and from the practice drubbings I took from the Fleet PvP community prepping for the Olympics it’s likely I’m further behind than I ever was 😆 . At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter as long as I’m having fun. I enjoy new content and stories especially so the prospect of an adventure in the Delta Quadrant excites me whether I have the best ships or even if Voyager was my favorite Trek; It wasn’t (Across the board it is my least favorite incarnation of the series).
Moving toward DR I have decided to build better Captains and have some fun with them. I will try to lock down some nice traits and tweaks for my officers and their crews but I’m not going to stress over what ship I will be commanding more than a month down the road. I look at my captain him/herself as the unchanging component. Whatever I do to further develop them is to my advantage. Even if I do tweak things out all the flashy traits in the universe are useless when I slackjaw in the PvE queue and neglect to change up my ground traits for the space mission I just committed to .
September 7, 2014 at 10:06 am #160387I think you have the right attitude horridperson.
In all fairness, PvP is kind of an irrelevant part of the game. It’s a bizarro version of STO. DPS doesn’t matter, things like scramble sensors and feedback pulse are useful, Scimitars are laughed at.
So don’t put too much stock in the Fleet Olympics. As long as you think your build is fun, and your not trolling PUGs, you’re doing fine. Most of us are stockpiling because we want new shineys, not really to be the “best”.
Back on topic, we get grappling/zipline guns. Time to be Batman or James Bond in Delta Rising. I’m a big fan of themes, so I’m liking this spy thing.

September 8, 2014 at 9:54 pm #160389To the Pancakemobile…Let’s go!
September 9, 2014 at 2:26 am #160390Is it just the bad wording in the blog or is the Heavy Phaser Lance the only Universal Console that can be equipped on another ship? All other console types in the blog state it is only for use on the ship it comes with or the Fleet variant.
Just an accidental omission perhaps?
Reading all the ship stats and abilities in the blog the intel ships sound quite interesting.
Admiral T'Liis [USS Endeavour]
@rebnaiSeptember 9, 2014 at 3:18 am #160391I wondered about that myself. The blog clearly states Universal and mentions it can be moved around. That will be an interesting extra shot to have, though I half expect it to have a 5-min cooldown, making it less than stellar.
Most phaser lance types, like on the Galaxy-X and the Vesta, are ‘nice to have’, not game-changers. I expect this one to be the same. Still it’ll be nice to have 😉
"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."September 10, 2014 at 2:51 am #160392It was a mistake in dev blog, Phantom console will be bound to that ship.
Seems like Delta reputation is on tribble:

– He said the upgrade t5-u token will be tradable so we can probably sell/buy them on the exchange.
– There will be no smaller faction packs, only Delta Operations pack that is currently out.
– There will probably be some kind of Voyager bundle in the future but he didn’t wanted to say if it will be based on ships, or similar to DS9 bundle that we currently have on C-Store.New sector space map.
