- Why join the Mighty 44th? I’ve been playing STO off and on for about a year and a half now, and the only fleets I’ve ever joined have been ghost towns. I really want to learn to get better at and enjoy this game with an active, social group that’s OK with me asking some very newbish questions despite having played for a little while. Star Trek has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid, and after searching around on the official forums, in-game, and on Reddit I came across a post from about a month ago that mentioned the Mighty 44th as an active, friendly group that’s OK with certified Filthy Casuals like myself. It sounded like exactly what I’ve been looking for – in particular the guides and events to identify where I need to improve my playstyle (spoiler alert, at this point I have a feeling it’s everywhere).
- Tell us about yourself: I’m a lifelong Trekkie who grew up watching TNG, some TOS (mostly from my dad’s collection), all Trek movies, and later on Voyager. Rediscovering DS9 on Netflix a few years ago brought me back into the fandom and led me to STO, and to this day DS9 and VOY remain my series that I can binge from beginning to end and never get tired of. I’ve been playing Trek games since the Generations tie-in Doom clone, favorite up till this point however was Elite Force.
