Afaik, most of the Star Trek roleplaying is dead. There were a lot of websites and other channels active, but I havent seen any jumping out or being active anymore. We tried some RPing in the 44th at one point (trying to branch out to other ST activities) but there was just no interest.

There is a great and by great i mean amazing RPG group on youtube and twitch. They don’t have a name or title per se, because they are friends that just play for the love of it.

Hosted by Eric Campbell (almost always, look him up for the search) they created a show called Shield of Tomorrow (available on youtube and twitch) that used the Modiphius System for tabletop star trekking. Their ship, the Sally Ride is actually available as an admiralty card (go to the Narendra system) and on DS9 you can talk/sell stuff to stupid, sexy Zazrit- an NPC from said tabletop game.

The crew have another show called Clear Skies (trek based) that i hope will be implemented eventually into STO. Great characters played by even greater players who love role-playing all things trek and dnd. I love these guys, there isn’t enough i can say about their passion and love for roleplaying and expression of creativity.

Anyway if you’re looking for inspiration i highly recommend these guys. They’ve done trek, dnd, doctor freakin who and a superhero rpg (callisto 6) that i couldn’t get enough of,  among many more.

Twitch is a great source of inspration. I recommend Geek and Sundry, Quetimes and of course the penultimate dnd group, Critical Role. Eric and co. has a special place in my heart though.

If you like puzzles then i have seen no-one better than Deborah Ann Woll (DAW) when she hosted Relics and Rarities. You may know her from shows such as true blood and daredevil, also available on YT and Twitch- R&R, not TB or DD obviously. It’s totally dnd though, DAW is a master at fun, exciting puzzles that she usually uses as an end-show predicament. Her DM’ing on the Stream Of Many Eyes (wizards of the coast yearly stream) was limited in time but not in creativity, the puzzle was basic so don’t look it up just for that. R&R, amazing btw with a lot of great 1-off players (every single episode in fact)- Charlie Cox or Kevin freakin Smith anyone?

If you’re looking for sci-fi and magic systems then check out exalted, eberron (dnd4/5e magicpunk), cypher system and world of darkness. Vampire the masquerade for example is great but they also have sci-fi magician/space sorcerer shit that is mind warpingly weird. Starjammer was an attempt by wizards of the coast (makers of dnd) to fuse magic and sci-fi but it really never clicked. There are rumours of a revamp this year though (fingers crossed).

Unfortunately i have other things to recommend but they are stuck behind subscription bullcrap that doesn’t make much sense seeing that the channel(s) are all but dead. Another source would be traditional games or /tg/ on 4chan but be warned, avoid the rest like a zombie infested plague, there is little good on that board. Just a lot of broken and twisted individuals. I cannot stress this point enough, don’t get mired into their bullshit you will never be able to wash it off and what you see you can never unsee (! {seriously}).

If you need a player or 1 off pc let me know. I’ve actually never played tabletop games but i’ve always wanted to. i know most of the systems  i mentioned due to my love for worldcrafting.

Anyway i hope this helps but i realise it’s more of a shotgun and see what sticks approach. Sorry about that, it’s how i roll, pun intended.

i defently gona have a look at those recomendasions. thank you. my game is a homebrew world with 2 players. one of those has 2 characters. and so far they both love the story. its my first time doing this. so im glad. One of the players is actualy my wife, but i can keep secrets. whe had more players but they had to work or did not want to play because dey had a fight between playeys. so i disided after our game bein shut down to gm one. for the players wo whantet to still play. and that was only 2 players. so we are now at lvl 3 and its getting fun.

<p style=”text-align: right;”>The advantage of Star Trek as a setting is that many worlds are your multi worlds.  Essentially your ship is your base while every planet/civilization is a new world waiting to be explored.  For RPG purposes TOS does it most blatantly where they did everything from gladiators, Romans, Nazis, Greg gods, , to outright magicians and magical beings.  More often than not there, “The magic of technology” behind the curtain but the diverse possibilities that kind of space setting offers are staggering.  That’s without hitting alternate dimensions and times.</p>
s more than enough on offer in a single genre. The fusion fantasy/space setting that’s most popular is either Spelljammer or Starfinder.  I’ve never been a fan but that’s just my opinion of mixed genre settings.  I’ve always felt that there more than enough in one genre to explore.  Old sci fi like John Carter of Mars is a bit of a blend that feels more fantasy than sci fi but it’s probably more pulp than either of those.

Back in college – late 80s-early 90s when roleplaying was still a big thing, I used to GM Star Trek: The Role Playing Game by FASA. I played it fast and loose – used to incorporate D&D elements into it as well since D&D was by far a better system, but we had a great time aboard the Constitution-class refit USS Challenger NCC 1715. The FASA game was based upon the 2D10 die roll (“percentage dice”), but had its unique elements.

Problem was TNG came out around the end of its run, and even though they had an expansion incorporating the first season (which I time-travelled my players to), it was impossible for them to keep up with the new material coming out on a weekly basis at the time. Then Star Trek pulled the license rights from FASA and that was the end of that. But I’m sure if you search the internet you can still find it. You can start here: Star Trek: The Role Playing Game – Wikipedia
