- Why join the Mighty 44th? I’m returning to the game after a military deployment. The fleet I’m in has great holdings, and I’ve invested an incredible amount of resources (hundreds of millions), but no one has been on in days. While I could just stay, or even take over (assuming no one else logs on), I would like to be a part of an established, active fleet. I’m happy to contribute to strengthen the fleet and earn vendor access. I like the sound of the 44th, and the rules lay out a mature, friendly environment I think I would enjoy being a part of.
- Tell us about yourself: I’m a Major in the Air Force, planning on retiring soon. I flew the F-16 FIghting Falcon, and have some great stories to share about being in the skies. I still fly sometimes, but my responsibilities have put me behind a desk more often than I like. 🙂
My family and I have lived all over the place, but are currently in the Midwestern US. Our favorite place was probably Okinawa, Japan. We were there long enough for me to complete become fluent in spoken Japanese. Written still looks like gibberish to me most of the time. 🙂
I love animals, and have enough to justify calling my house a zoo. In addition to our two dachshunds, I have a large collection of reptiles, many of which I breed and sell. My wife is a veterinarian, so it works out well.
I’ve always had a deep love of Star Trek, and have enjoyed watching it grow and develop over time. The newer movies blow me away compared to some of the earliest tv episodes I remember. I found this game in 2012 I think, and it was my first experience with an MMO type game. I love “space sims”, and strategy games. I also play Elite: Dangerous, Stellaris, and have quite the collection of games on Steam.

Thanks for applying to the mighty 44th. You should receive your in-game invite next time you log in.
Join our 44th chat channel “44th-diplo” by typing the following into the chat window: /channel_join 44th-diplo.
This is used to communicate with our 44th Fleet, 44th Delta Fleet and our 44th Assault Squadron (KDF) – we don’t use the in-game fleet channel.
As a new 44th Fleet Ensign you will be stationed for 2 weeks in the 44th Delta Fleet, (KDF’s go directly to our 44th Assault Sqn). For a promotion to Lieutenant and fleet store unlock you just need to meet 2 requirements:
1) Must have either logged into the game or posted on our 44th forum at least once during the review period of 2 weeks (which starts today);
2) Must be in good standing with the fleet.Full access to the 44th forum has now been unlocked, feel free to look around. See the recent September State of the Fleet to catch up.
We use Discord for voice and we are also on twitter.
As a mature, no-drama fleet the 44th caters to casual and hard-core players, so I’m sure you’ll fit right in.
Especially if you’re also interested in Star Citizen – we’re building up a fleet there as well and we can always use an extra tailgunner 😉 Go Viper !
