“Military Assault Command…”
“Captain Archer said he wanted the best.”– Hoshi Sato and J. Hayes, 2153 (“The Xindi”)
Military Assault Command Operations (commonly abbreviated as MACO) was a United Earth military organization in service on Earth during the 2150s, prior to the founding of the Federation. The MACOs (pronounced “MAY-ko”) were not associated with Starfleet. MACO weapons and technology were three years more advanced than those of Starfleet. (ENT: “Harbinger”)
The military official that oversaw the MACOs was General Casey. (ENT: “The Expanse”) MACO posts included Atlanta, Georgia and the Janus loop. Training posts included West Point in New York. (ENT: “The Xindi”, “Hatchery”, “The Council”)
A detachment of troops commanded by Major J. Hayes was assigned to the Enterprise NX-01 for its mission into the Delphic Expanse in 2153. Admiral Maxwell Forrest was surprised that Captain Jonathan Archer had requested military officers aboard his ship. They saw their first action six weeks into the mission; in September, Hayes and a six-man team rescued Archer, Commander Tucker, and Kessick from the clutches of a trellium mining planet. (ENT: “The Expanse”, “The Xindi”)
Military Assault Command Operations (MACO) has been an important Military Arm of Starfleet for centuries, since the first were simply Earth Infantryman stationed on the first Enterprise under Captain John Archer. As before the MACOs serve within Fleets as Boarding Parties and Away Teams in the most dangerous situations; augmenting other Crews or even commanding their own in support roles. 44th MACO’s are no different. Serving as augments to our Science and Diplomatic Vessels, or serving as our Combat Assault Arm.
(This will be mostly done in an RP capacity, but MACO’s may b for Players who wish to focus on Ground Combat and Gearing. I will edit individual MACO patches for Ships as requested. This is still in proposal form, even though suggested in game and at least initially accepted. As son as officially accepted here, I will look into accepting Recruits.)
These are the Vessels of Lieutenant Michael Garza.

It’s no news that many favor Space over Ground, but Ground is still a good chunk of STO and untill recently we ran daily ground STFs/PVEs (nowadays it’s usually just buggy Defera) – a return to the Hard (Borg) ground STFs would certainly be welcome. Accolades must be earned ! 😎
Run with it Captain.

"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."September 13, 2015 at 10:37 am #163330I frequent elite ground tours to rack up the marks/dil/salvage. Still join the infrequent borg ground as well for nostalgia (they are quite easy with 116’s or Zeph shotty, esp so if you bother to upgrade… but take too long for the rewards esp due to no salvage.
September 15, 2015 at 4:47 pm #163331I like the idea. Here is one picture from Delta recruit period:
