Have to agree with the above, though I can’t really cally myself a proper “trekkie” but SF/F has been a part of my entire life and Trek has been a significant part.
I do really like the universe and setting very much. I’d forgotten how gorgeous the ship designs are, especially considering the age of the engine.
The storytelling is pretty top-notch as well, if fairly typically in some cases using SF tropes, just like the original writers.I love good storytelling… and few games that I like do it as well.
April 23, 2019 at 2:59 am #422945So this should pave the way for getting rid of the various tiers altogether so we just have ‘ships’ of varying types, all available at any level.
This is excellent. It both simplifies things and gives something to players.
April 11, 2019 at 6:05 am #422622Yeah, I must admit I’m a little worried too. Still, it’ll be worth a look.
April 11, 2019 at 5:07 am #422613I agree, mostly, with Anukis post above.
I quite like Disco, and I even like Burnham’s character as well as Pike and Spock. I like Stemts a lot and also Saru.
I would love to see a Section 31 series. Michelle Yeoh’s Georgiou is really good and interesting.
What I really want though is a post-Voyager series. Move forwards, not these seemingly endless prequels.
The new Picard series might be good in that regard.
My own personal favourites are DS9, Voyager and TNG.
April 8, 2019 at 7:55 am #422436It’s about time I got back into STO.. been awfully distracted by PoE and FFXIV recently. I’m giving this D3 season a miss since the theme doesn’t interest me.
March 28, 2019 at 4:06 am #416503Well, if ‘Serving’ means 6 weeks of basic and 3 days on the Enfield .303 I guess so..
March 27, 2019 at 5:46 pm #416485Respect, to you both. And yes, Subs are always Boats, not Ships. Probably for some reason only known to Admirals.
Historically, A ship was a vessel that could carry cargo. (Yep, Sea vessels carry CARgo, road transports are SHIPments. Go figure)
Anyway, so anything big enough to carry substantial cargo is a ship. Given the size of modern submarines, they probably qualify but I suppose it’s too late to change.
My only service was infantry reserve so not much to boast about. Still, as they say, Infrantry holds.
March 14, 2019 at 4:27 pm #411116On the 31st of March it will be my 1 year STOversary. Not sure entirely what I’m going to do yet, but I’ve been thinking about a severely challenging scavenger hunt type thing for a while now.
If I can come up with a way to do it in my (not) copious free time, there could be a couple of million EC in it for someone.
I’d also just like to say it’s been a pleasure being in this fleet for the last year. I don’t get to play as much as I’d like at the moment, basically, get on, do the endeavours if I can, and get off. Hopefully that will change in a couple or three months.
March 5, 2019 at 5:27 am #399182I was actually considering getting to grips with it. Had in mind a story about a Catian and her search for the Holy Plant (Catnip) but beset by all sorts of obstacles (Dogians). Now, it’ll never see the light of day.
March 4, 2019 at 2:11 pm #399086Yep, the Eneavours are going to be a complete pain in the arse to do daily now.
February 11, 2019 at 6:08 am #379837Cecelia@bazz7916 can move to Gamma.
January 25, 2019 at 6:36 pm #370205Ahh Tuna… it will be sadly missed.
Sorry, the cat got on the PC again.
December 4, 2018 at 5:00 pm #320243Are we done yet?
November 5, 2018 at 11:11 am #293986Yep, makes you wonder… Mike Moorhaim, co-founder, leaves the company, spends the last 10 minutes enjoying crowd adulation.. leaves. Then Wyatt Chang pisses off 30,0000 people, live on stage.
November 5, 2018 at 3:36 am #293978Since it was free I decided to give it a try… looks Ok, but it really just reinforced why I don’t play FPS games.
