Note; this list is not yet complete, more fleet members will be/have been promoted, plus some additional promotion rules will be posted this weekend. Stay tuned.

There have been a large number of demotions; Captains that have been AFK for more than 6 months have been reduced to Commander rank. There were so many – and those in question are afk anyway – that I have not provided a list.

From now on the rank of Captain will be granted only to players that are really active, and that Captain rank will be void if afk for +6 months.
This only concerns Captains, so Commanders and Lieutenants will be unaffected.
Basically we’re going back to the old fleet rank system where everyone maxed out as a Commander.
Only now everyone will have an equal chance to become Captain.

There is no real penalty for a demotion; fleet store access will be unaffected and only some minor fleet privileges will be reduced (fleet invites for new members, reduced fleet bank withdrawal for example). Captains’ rank is just a reference to those that are true hard-core STO lunati- err… fans. 😆

What is unchanged is the removal from the fleet roster after being AFK for 1 year. If a player returns he/she will be reinstated with the rank of Lieutenant in the 44th Fleet, regardless of previous rank. This again will still mean full and unrestricted access to the fleet stores. If this returning player continues to be active he/she will rank up normally with privileges unlocking along the way.

This new system will have little if any effect to 99% of the players in our three fleets, but it will allow dormant members to be either removed or demoted more easily to make room for new members in our maxed out 44th Fleet, aka That Place With All The Sweet Goodies.

Further fixes to fleet ranks including demotions to Commander rank of those Captains that are afk for 6 months or more.

Slowly the number of (fleet) Captain ranks are slimming as this rank will be reserved to active players as a small recognition to those online at least once a month.

Please check your (dormant) alts if they received the same rank as your (active) main. If not, pm me or Sargon and it will be fixed asap.

The usual disclaimer; STO’s admin tools are notoriously unreliable so errors will occur. Post here or pm in-game if so.

Next round of promotions will be up as usual, first weekend of the month.

Well he was afk from the game ( not just the fleet ) for a year or more. If he returns he will be reinstated with LT rank and (limited) fleet store access.
