So Some of those are aware that I have my own fleet, a dead fleet at the moment that started out thriving but then members just left because they preferred a more ‘built’ fleet. This dead fleet is no doubt still Level 0, sad to say, I have tried but have not been heavily committed to it. So it’s essentially MOTHBALLED until I come up with an idea to Re-Purpose it.
Being that it will be some time, longer than I really wanted, to return to the Service, I figured I try to find ways to Re-Purpose the dead fleet, which is called The Free World, which I will be renaming shortly (time of this message, STO was still undergoing Shard maintenance, was suppose to be done by 12:30 pm PST but then they added 2 hours to it. Yay)
So far I only have one idea, and being that I am still on the 2 week probation (11 days to go, woot, lol) I figured I’d Re-Purpose it for a more fun kind of thing or for 44th or I don’t really know at this point just something. But basically…something.
ANYWAYS.
First Idea, and the Only idea I have at the moment is:
Drozana Task Force – New Name of the Fleet
Reason: Why the hell did the Starfleet abandon the Drozana Deep Space Station, where it is clearly in a prime location better than K-7, and at the time of the 23rd century, it was larger and in my honest opinion, far more capable of defending itself than the K-7. (I mean it had a Constitution Class Heavy Cruiser, in that 23rd Century Era anyways, as it’s support ship. :/ )
Only reason of Drozana’s current owner is: Starfleet Abandoned it. The data on it so far: http://sto.gamepedia.com/Drozana_Station
To Quote:
“Dating back to the 23rd Century, Drozana Station was built as a Federation Deep Space Station and still runs on a duotronic computer core. By 2409, Drozana Station had been abandoned by Starfleet and the Ferengi took over the installation.”
So Starfleet keeps an old relic like K-7 (game wise because of it’s relation in TOS and Kirk :/ go figure) and upgrades and maintains it but with the Drozana Station, as big and most likely far more useful than K-7, Starfleet abandons it with no real good explanation. Thanks Cryptic, I highly doubt Starfleet would really keep K-7 and abandon the Drozana Station. Probably keep both but still….
In such cases, my dead fleet The Free World will be renamed to the Drozana Task Force (being a Starfleet Fleet) tasked to reclaim Drozana Station in full rights of Starfleet, being that it was built, maintained and commanded and crewed by Starfleet back in the day. Plus the Ferengi have neglected the station, being so darn picky how they spend/save their money, maintenance is hardly their top priority. I mean, it still has a duotronic computer core? Good lord man, that poor station! Not to mention one of the support pylons to one of the smaller complexes is gone and the complex is dangling by what? Huge cables? Makes me want to take a hyper sonic drill to Belan’s ear, considering how sensitive their ears are, that’s a perfect torture method for Ferengi.
When STO is up and ready, I will go through the list of characters I have (which ever is still in The Free World, all of them are Commander’s/Fleet Admirals of the Fleet so…and which one is higher level) And station them on Drozana for the time being. I’m offering to incorporate it to 44th but at the moment, I will wait for my probation to end first before fully suggesting. Plus I know there be a lot of work I would have to do if it was considered, linking the website, changing fleet description here and there and of course staying in touch with proper Rules and Regulations.
That’s the first idea so far, I will mention a 2nd idea when ever I think of one. Otherwise I will be listing personnel (all my toons that ARE in the Dead ‘The Free World’ Fleet and what not.)
For now when I do it, I will put in the Fleet Description ‘Under Construction and Under New Management’ considering what I am about to do with it and such.
Yup, I made this 😛
April 7, 2016 at 3:10 pm #164142The only way I can think of to revive your dead fleet, is to incorporate it into a Fed Armada, so Armada members can donate to your projects and build it up – unfortunately our Fed Armada is already filled. You could try and find another willing Armada, but if your fleet isn’t very active (lacking daily projects) it’s going to be tough.
So I’m not quite sure what your plans are, but unless you can get about a dozen or so solid (donating) members you will have a hard time building it up to unlock the coveted Fleet stores since the requirements are so ginormous; even our 44th Delta Fleet isn’t fully complete yet after a year and we skipped all the amenities, just saying.
I know there were more multi-fleeting questions in general, so allow me to elaborate a bit on that.
We value any player’s membership, and in return we provide a very generous fleet with unrestricted access to Fleet ships, Fleet weapons, shields, Doffs, Boffs etc etc and unrestricted access to our Fleet starbases, Mine, Embassy, Research Lab and Spire, and ofcourse this forum.
The Mighty 44th has its extra 44th Delta fleet to park your secondary alts and we created a high level Armada for easy access to extra Fleet project.Unlike other Fleets/guilds, we do not demand any weekly x-amount of in-game donations (though obviously needed to earn Fleet Credits), no real $ forum donations (though always very appreciated) and we have no ‘must attend’ meetings where you are evaluated or some such.
In return we do ask a level of loyalty; if you join the Mighty 44th we expect the 44th to be your homebase. If you spend most of your time in other channels, always play with other non-44th members and basically don’t interact with 44th members at all either in-game and/or on our forum, or we find some are here just to raid our fleet stores, then perhaps it’s better to move on.
The exception to the rule is if you’re a fleet leader of a dead fleet as Jamesmaxwell; we won’t demand that you give up your own private fleet which you may have worked very hard on, but is virtually dead / totally inactive because of zero members.
In a case like this, the 44th Command Staff will make a decision in each individual case.
