I know people like all different ways of playing this game. For me, even though I’m a science toon, I like maneuverable tactical ships that aren’t glass cannons. I’ve been using escort carriers for a long time now. Long story short, I just got an Icarus Class Pilot Escort…. This thing is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I’ve been using plasma weapons for years but switched to a full Herald AP set. I’m cutting thru gaggles of enemy ships like a hot knife thru butter. Does anyone else use this ship? If so what are your loadouts?
stupid question: been hitting prn scn to get screenshots. can’t find them and all google searches are a dead end. Can anyone enlighten me so I can share my loadouts? Thanks.
December 27, 2015 at 8:11 am #163626I loved the Icarus. I’ll probably hop back in mine after I’m done trying to make the Fleet Arbiter into a semi DPS partgens hybrid. The Icarus is good, but ultimately imperfect for what I am going for. It is defiantly a good step up from my Mobius though.
I’ve been a Sci captain that pretty much always out DPSed your average tac captain. A sci in an escort is a powerful thing, especially in PvP of old. Subnucleonic Beam and Sensor Scan were the ultimate “I win” buttons. These days anyone can tank, debuff and DPS in virtually any ship with any class, so play how you like.
Anyway, to find your screenshots go => STO/Star Trek Online/Live/Screenshots. But your HUD will be disabled, so if you want to share screenshots as you see them (and have windows), press the windows key + the print screen key. These screenshots will be in with your pictures, likely in a folder labeled screenshots.

December 28, 2015 at 9:31 pm #163627That’s what has me flummoxed. I have no screenshots directory in there!
December 28, 2015 at 10:12 am #163628Hmm, maybe create the folder, press printscreen in game and see if something shows up? Or maybe there’s a setting in STO that changes the target for saves on your machine. Beyond that, I don’t really see any further remedy.

December 28, 2015 at 11:54 am #163629From STO wiki: “…To take a screen shot with the User Interface, use the command /screenshot_ui (for TGA) or /screenshot_ui_jpg (for JPG) in the chat box.”
December 28, 2015 at 12:04 pm #163630This I find handy for screenshots http://www.capture-screenshot.org/snipping-tool/
"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."December 28, 2015 at 5:00 pm #163631You inspired me to get back in my Icaurus. Here are some screenshots of mine:

December 29, 2015 at 7:22 pm #163632This is something that’s been happening to many lately. Including myself. The prtsc key no longer puts screenshots in the proper sto folder. I’ve even typed in the command to rebind the prtsc key in game and that still does nothing. I’ve just been putting the screenshots into paint as i take them and edit them before taking the next one. So far, I’ve seen no answer as to why this is happening.
December 29, 2015 at 7:36 pm #163633Thanks fatman! What shield is that?
to the rest- I’ll try that link and if it doesn’t work, I’ll maybe try something that NEVER works and put in a support ticket! lol
December 29, 2015 at 8:02 am #163634Nukara Resilient from Nukara Rep. My stuff isn’t cutting edge anymore. I hear the Iconian Space Set is the way to go. But 2pc Nukara has served me well.
