Tell us about yourself: Trek fan since there were only (4) broadcast TV channels to choose from. (Whhaat?) That’s right! Star Trek vs Hee-Haaawww! Yeah, not a hard choice. Been in STO since 2010-ish, not real sure. I’m an old dude with a Job, House, Wife, Kids, Dog complete with a Hey Buddy/Honey Do List! I’m also a 3-fingered typist so I won’t be talking your head off. But I will attempt to do my portions but I won’t be calling in “Sick” to work for a Fleet Mark event. I actually pay my bills 😉
Why did you choose the Mighty 44th: Was shopping “Find a Fleet”, Liked the add and thought that it might be nice to see what a “real” fleet would look like. Plus, it’s another aspect to the game as a whole. Once you go Fleet there’s no turning back.
Previous Fleets: One, do not recall the name. Was 1 of 5 Generals directly under Fleet Owner with about 50 members and was 1 of only 4 main contributors, earned over 4 million Fleet Credits. Took time off to live life, Fleet changed owners and I got the boot for inactivity.
Have you read and accept the <span style=”color: #e4c173;”>Rules and Regulations</span>: I have and found them to be acceptable.

Thank you for applying to the Mighty 44th. You should receive your in-game invite next time you log in.
Join our 44th chat channel “44th-diplo” by typing the following into the chat window: /channel_join 44th-diplo.
This is used to communicate with our 44th Fleet, 44th Delta Fleet and our 44th Assault Squadron (KDF) – we don’t use the in-game fleet channel.
As a new Federation Fleet Ensign you will be stationed for 2 weeks in the 44th Delta Fleet, (KDF’s go directly to our 44th Assault Sqn). For a promotion to Lieutenant and fleet store unlock you just need to meet 2 requirements:
1) Must have either logged into the game or posted on our 44th forum at least once during the review period of 2 weeks (which starts today);
2) Must be in good standing with the fleet.Full access to the 44th forum has now been unlocked, feel free to look around. See the recent State of the Fleet to catch up.
As a mature, no-drama fleet the 44th caters to casual and hard-core players, so I’m sure you’ll fit right in.

"Boldly bashing Borg to bits since 2012..."Thank you for the welcome. Let’s see. I may have misspoken. I went from free to a renewable 3 month for a little over a year or two, so now I am back to free. So if gold is lifetime then I should have said (previously silver). My mistake. When the question said “Are you Silver, gold or Lifetime?:” I was thinking that Silver was free.
Question: When joining the 44th-diplo channel. Having done so, is this a one timer or do I have to rejoin with each login?

When you join it is unlocked, so you can make a seperate “44th-diplo” tab on your chat menu – this is a more convenient way without getting clutterd with spam, and it allows different factions to talk on the same channel, as Feds and KDFs normally can’t.
This is an example of how I set up my chat; 44th-diplo only for Fleet/Friend/Tell and disabled the rest. Zone chat I disabled years ago and made my STO life a lot more pleasant. Seperate channels for Team when teamed up, DPS channels for looking for more teaming etc etc.
This is just an example setup obviously. Mix, match and mod as you see fit.
When you added a friend, you might get spammed by “x logged on, x logged off” messages when they’re switching toons. By untagging Friend in the channel menu that message will no longer show but you’re still listed as friends – handy as a quick-find tool when you want to team up.
And the most important 44th rule – any questions ? Ask ! We were all starters once and even (returning) veterans are often overwhelmed by STO’s options. Lot’s of knowledge in the fleet we’re happy to share 🙂
