Phoenix Box Event 7/18/18 – 7/25/18 – Just a FYI!!!

Plus the unique ‘back to the future’ hoverboard and some other titbits. Excelsior total revamp ? Plus a Wednesday patch instead of the regular Thursday one. Interesting.

Breen Chel Boalg warship and not the Plesh Tral (which has the better aux2bat trait) which I thought was next in line, pity.

Should have seen this coming with the surprise Keyring sale yesterday – a common tactic from Cryptic to force us to spend all our saved zen. I wouldn’t be surprised if after the phoenix event there will be another (ship?) sale, or even something like a surprise upgrade weekend to make us spend/buy more zen.

Mind you, I don’t really mind this – as a very generous free2play game Cryptic needs to make money somehow, and these promotions are certainly nice and can rapidly become expensive, but they are not a must to just continue to play the game as you currently do.

I agree.  I’ve no objection to spending some cash on it occasionally.  I’ve been waiting for another Phoenix event. I need the Red Matter Capacitor and the Crystalline Torpedo 🙂  And you never know, there’s always the chance at another ship if you’re lucky.

I was really waiting for the Cold Hearted trait. Too bad.
What other things are worth getting there? I know the red battery device is good, Cochran’s shotgun too, anything else?

The UR and Epic odds are very low.

I have probably opened about 600-700 boxes over the last several events. I have gotten 3 UR and no Epic.

Not sure what to do with the URs since the rewards are all T5 ships – they just sit in the bank. I was thinking of the JH bug ship for the pet unlock, but I think the new JH pets maybe better now anyway.

The boxes are great for the just the upgrades. I get all of the Doffs, Red Matter Capacitor and admiralty card on all my alts. Also a couple nice items for anti-proton builds with the torpedo and console.

Still a great value. The chance to get a ship is just a bonus if you are lucky enough to get one.

Thanks for the link. If you claim it on Romulan character, you get two liberated borg bridge officers: Human/Klingon Eng and Romulan Eng boff. Haven’t done it, but it is verified it works.
