I think your ideas to tie the rewards into regular content are great. I wasn’t disagreeing with that at all. I apologize if it seemed that way. These grindy events that require daily logins are just not practical for many people and it would be good if they addressed that.
I was just commenting that what they are actually doing is good start in terms of getting ships to people that fit their play style. I hope they can expand on the available ways to earn “coupons”, and I hope the program is continued so that those unable to complete this over the 3 TFO events can earn a ship as well doing other content.

lol , no I never played the table top game but love the Art,Lore,books, pc games, etc, not painted any figures in many many years but this https://hachettepartworks.com/warhammer-40000-conquest?sortOrder=&size=200&loading=true got me buying a few issue and have started to dabble in painting again.
On topic, 5 days with bonus tokens is at least something, 500 token is halfway towards the 1050 goal, so looks like if we complete every day we can get 1300 vouchers per event assuming the same for each event. Why not just have said this yesterday, suppose the are called cryptic.
My main concern was that it appeared they we being generous on one hand offering a free T6 ship that all players can get, which is a boon for people who can’t spend much or any money on the game, and then making the grind so that you have to play every day or you cannot get enough tokens, knowing full well that not all people can play every day and then saying oh you missed a few days and can’t get the free ship, here buy the tokens you missed.
We don’t want the game going down the EA path to the dark side.
It just reminds me of the Freeview ads we get in the UK saying watching TV is FREE, no subscription cost, oh yeah, so what’s this £150 a year TV Tax called the licence fee then, something you HAVE to pay to watch FREE TV lol

Lots of games are going the gamblelootbox/event/microtransactions/attendance rewards route… so I feel a bit like Canute, tbh. Old. Stretched. Like butter scraped over too much bread. I still think it possible to make a ton of money from an entertainment product that is fun, engaging and non-repetitive… and that focusing on bums-on-seats (if they’re chained to us, even if unhappy, they’re not chained to another game) over content isn’t the best.

I had to google Canute. I thought the reference might have something to do with Bilbo Baggins, who also felt like butter spread over too much bread, but as usual I was wrong.

That pack has been one of my best purchases. The Vanguard Dreadnought Cruiser has been a blast to play with. I highly recommend it, when you have enough, ChaosYes I have to agree on the EA point, it is a path that a lot of gaming companies seem to take. But I am going to try this and maybe get a T6 ship.
I have the T’Pau Scout Ship, but I have not figured it out yet and seen to many YouTube videos on it.
So if I get there, I going for a KDF T6 not sure which one yet. Sorry I like Star Fleet, but I really enjoy Klingons.

I agree it could be better implemented, but theres another thing also in my personal opinion, so don’t be offended.
We get free ships leveling, the last will be a T5 upgradable. To have fun in this game you don’t NEED a T6 ship, you can do all the content on advanced easy in your T5U ship, and some elites also.
If you want to be a top dps’er then it might be usefull to get a T6, but piloting is important to, im sure there are pilotes who can get more dps out of their T5U ships then me in my fancy T6.
The problem i have is that there is something FREE to get, no matter what you have to do its FREE, they might aswell do nothing, if i was giving away free stuf and i would read all this hate and complaints on the forums (the official forums not here) i would pull it back.
Star trek Online gives the most of any MMO for free, you can do everything in the game for free, expansions are free etc.
I read a lot on the forums we cannot afford a T6 ship, i just cannot believe that, if you save 50ct! a week you have 26 $ at the end of the year, combine this with a ZEN sale and ship discount and you have your T6 ship, it would take some time but its not” i cannot EVER get a T6 ship from the C-store.” , while saving enjoy the game in your free ships most of them are better looking anyway 🙂
So in short , play the game have fun !

First off I am not offend, but saying that I really do have reasons real life reasons that I have to watch my budget and how often I can play (which I have explained to the two of the members of the Chain of Command), and I am saving for the stuff I want in game, a nickel here, a dollar here.
And I know a lot of you do not know me, and anyone can say anything they want on the World Wide Web.
And no I am not a French Model – LoL.
But I am the type of person you speaks/types with as much honesty as I can (no real personal stuff), I always have been and will always try to be.
Heck you should see some of my posts on the World of Warships Forum, I.E. I took a bit of grief for refusing to change teams in a special event – LoL, but I stuck to my word and played Team Eagle to the end.
I will most likely never be the Greatest Player on STO, but I will always try to be honest with everyone of you. And I be loyal to the 44th until you all ask me to leave.
Now put this back on track: Yes the Free T6 Ship is not the best planned idea I have seen, but right now from my personal view point it is a nice step. And I would love to be able to ask 101 questions to the Design Team about the whole idea.
Would I like to see other changes? Yes, heck I think there should be a way to earn Loot boxes Keys for free, will it happen? Most likely nope. But at least this TFO is a chance, it is a small bone that Cryptic is offering for us, and all of us not just a small group of us. And I think it is way better than say what Wargaming offers, heck a Premium Tier 9 Warship on there can cost close to 80.00 bucks or more, ONE SHIP, not a pack of ships, one ship!

On a slightly different issue. Now that the event is live, at least I think it is, where do you find these coupon progress tokens tabulated? I cannot find them in any of the usual places like inventory or the assets window.

Never-mind, I found them. Bottom left of the reputation window. Of course the first place anyone would look. Honestly the UI in this game is a cobbled together mass of straw and bailing wire.

I refer to the many ways Cryptic has stated it, including the splash screen – “Earn A T6 Ship”
It’s never been – ‘we’re gifting you a T6 ship’ – and that’s the distinction a lot of forum posters have missed
Yep, their methodology of earning the ship is steep and grindy, and it might be out of reach of some people, due to a whole range of reasons, but that is true of just about anything – missed holiday events, Delta Recruits etc – all of which I missed unfortunately.
The grind is possible for most players, that’s reasonable. Some players won’t be able to earn their T6 and that’s regrettable, but that also reality. I personally think its a good move, get players involved in FTFOs (which you’ll do anyway – the console is pretty sweet), get players primed for the next one, maybe make a few bucks from the Commendation Pack, end of August you have earned an extra ship.
My fear is that the epic level of forum hate about this system means they won’t do it again.
I might get a ship or not. I’m not sick of the event yet; Give it time 😀 . On the bright side it is limited to one a day which isn’t too painful a play schedule. I remember trying to earn gidgets and gadgets for EVERY captain I have on mirror events so I’m OK with this. I will try to pull my weight on runs to the best of my (and my captains) abilities 😛 . I hit a run this morning where I don’t think they were even trying. THAT I hate!

Cool thanks for the link, I not sure if I will be able to get the free ship. With R/L interruptions I normally only get one Special TFO done a day.

I’ve certainly not been hammering at it but at present have 1,200 coupons… so I guess, at my rate of middlingish involvement, I should hit 3,000 in @just shy of 3 months since intro… IF there continue to be events running that reward coupons. I’m sure there are people with more and some with less. I still don’t like the system/implementation, even if I appreciate the move. No need to slap me as I’ve done it myself 🙂
