i’m considering a respec and don’t want to mess it up like i did the first time. i was eager and did not do any studying the first time and just started filling up rows and working across the columns. i only made it up to captain and then i figured out just how bad i messed it up. so i did a respec and got up to admiral, but i think i have room for improvement.
i’m a tac and would love to see screen shots of good examples for a respec. i have a lot of questions and i guess a picture is worth a thousand words.
like on tac to get to admiral do all rows have to have each column selected and many other dumb questions.
any advice, suggestions, links, etc would be appreciated.
November 12, 2012 at 2:53 pm #156984I wouldn’t mid seeing a few screenshots of some of the top tactical players setups. I know I did mine badly but haven’t done anything to fix it (yet).
November 12, 2012 at 2:59 pm #156985Well, the question is, who do you consider to be a top tactical player?
I can probably post mine once I get around to it if anyone’s interested in seeing my build.
November 12, 2012 at 3:35 pm #156986Anyone better than me?! Which I suppose is probably anyone lol
November 15, 2012 at 9:01 am #156987i think i have a better idea of how to do it now after doing some research, but as i said, a picture is worth a thousand words. i did not know, but since i got the life time sub, i have 4 respecs, so i have 4 chances to get it right. 🙂
mrbruce….anyone in this fleet is pretty good, so even if you are at the bottom with me you are better than 90% of those in pugs probably.
November 15, 2012 at 2:50 pm #156988I’ll post mine this weekend then. It will probably need some explanation once I’ve posted it.
November 15, 2012 at 5:02 pm #156989very cool. i would appreciate it a lot. thanks.
November 16, 2012 at 9:22 pm #156990Here’s my build
Most of it is pretty self explanatory. The only notes I would add are the following:
– maxed flow capacitors, as they buff tetryon weapons and tetryon glider (from the 2pc Omega Bonus)
– Power insulators to combat power drain in pvp

November 16, 2012 at 1:24 pm #156992Since the only important power levels for an escort are generally weapons and engines, I run this:
Weapons: 125
Shields: 44
Engines: 74
Aux: 44November 16, 2012 at 4:16 pm #156994bodgeupFleet Memberhave you checked out that online skill planner? I use that before commiting to a real respec.
http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/
here is what i have at moment:-
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/41348479/bodgeup-skill.jpgNovember 16, 2012 at 6:04 pm #156993I’ve got more points into power skills. I’d say what power is important depends on certain things. Engine power is more important in PVP than PVE. Often times in PVE, i end up just parking in front of the target and blasting away at the target (think nanite probes or a very slow moving cube). Engine power does me no good in that situation, unless if i need to evasive out of there.
I find more use in shield power, especially since I’ve started running the full borg set. The borg shield is regenerative, and the rate of regen depends on shield power. A shield power of 50 will give the standard rate. Shields do not regenerate at all at 25. They regenerate double at 100.
So my power levels running borg set is:
Weap 125/95
Shd 77/55
Eng 53/25
Aux 53/25And skill point distribution is found here:
http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/index.php?build=Matrix_90Actually, there are few things that I been meaning to change, like putting more points into Maneuvers and Targeting, and less into Aux performance. Just been too lazy to do it. I think I still have a couple of free respecs.
Also, keep in mind that I DO play ground missions, so I’m not maxed just for space combat.
