I’ve been in love with the 40k universe for years and can nerd out on lore w/ the best of them, but have never had the chance to play – in my (relatively) rural area it can be hard to find a decent D&D game – 40k wasn’t happening anywhere nearer than Dallas. Nowadays of course, it’s easier thanks to the internet, but the hobby’s expense and my limited artistic skill coupled w/ lack of friends willing to invest in it have kept me out. Someday I’d dearly love to build and play some armies – my dream forces are an Ultramarines company and some sort of Guard mechanized unit (the proverbial scalpel/sledgehammer combo, to be used as the situation requires)…
This them?
Gone, but not forgotten
My great-uncle Pete Waller fought in Normandy, as well. Part of the 116th RCT, 29th Infantry, he survived landing in the first wave at Omaha and fought on until D+32 (if I remember correctly), when he was severely wounded by mortar fragments outside the town of St. Lo. I met him when he was in his eighties and I was perhaps 12 (he lived several states away from me); even at that age he spent his days mowing his also-elderly neighbors’ yards and fetching them groceries, meds, etc… anything to help. Great guy.
Yeah, I’ve seen him in the news before with the Zumwalt.
If this man doesn’t wind up in command of the new Enterprise when she is commissioned in a few years, I will be most disappointed with the folks at the Pentagon…
Guides? Here’s quite a few.
I believe it’s “Kal Durak@sanoval”. He PM’d me this evening to inquire about joining, so I directed him here…
I see Resto’s already created a discord server (good job!), but I wanted to go ahead and “officially” express my interest in a voice server.
Thanks – I hadn’t even cosidered “building” for the race – it’s so much easier now!
Have you tried using this keybind app?
http://ifes.us/index.php/keybind-application
It seems to have the functionality you seek, though it’s found under “Experimental Combo Keys”, so your mileage may vary…
I see myself (Ander15) in the Commander list here, but on the in-game roster I’m still a Lt. Commander. It’s absolutely not a big deal, but I thought I should perhaps mention it here.
