Do Ships Change?

i was not real happy with the performance of my regent and put it aside for awhile. i change ships regularly. i had one ship, my tac oddy, that was always a killer. i always did very well with this ship.

recently, i seem to do much better with the regent and my tac oddy does not seem to be the super hero it once was.

i have had both of these ships set up the same way for quite some time.

this is just one example of what i have experienced. i guess there are a lot of variables at play here, but i was just wondering if anyone else had the feeling that a ship got better or worse for no apparent reason.

and i am super bored at work today with little to do. 🙂

When they change ships, they tend to tell us.

E.g. The Heavy Escort Carrier got +2000 hull points before S6, the MVAE and Patrol Escort got +1000 hp and +1 turn rate before S6, and the lockbox ships got boosted at S6 start. Also, the Mobius is getting nerfed in S7.

That being said, don’t believe that the regeant or odyssey have changed. Perhaps it’s you who’s changed 😉

you are probably right about me changing. i have been trying to warm up to escorts and i have been using cruisers less.

also the “mix” of players i play with has a big impact on it probably. this past weekend playing with the fleet i was getting optionals on everything and getting blown up very little, if any at all.

the past couple nights in pugs have been horrible. in bad pugs i seem to do better with lots of hull and heals. although i do at times get lucky and get in with a good pug group.

i got too focused on getting ships. i am changing my focus now to maximizing the potential of ships i have. i’m in no rush to get any new ships. i won’t lie to you though….i think about the bug ship a lot. i am saving up ECs.

at the rate i’m going i should have enough in 3 years. 🙂

bumping this back up. i think maybe things do change. before season 7 i had 2 ships i almost never used that are doing much better. one of them is the ops oddy with upgraded reman set. it is the most durable ship i have now.

some of my other ships that use to be tough are like glass now. i’m still trying various set and console combos to find something that works good. so far the borg set seems best.
