Looks like half of Europe is unable to play STO, me included, sob sob 🙁
Anyone else affected, and for you lucky s.o.b’s who haven’t been is it looking noticibly sparse in game?

Hello Captain!
We are aware of an issue with the launcher where some players may be getting an error upon launching it. Our team is investigating your reports and we hope to have a resolution as soon as possible — it is our top priority. Again, not all players are affected, but if you are, please read this post.http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=7682171#post7682171
Thanks you and we hope to have you back in-game ASAP.

January 28, 2013 at 4:44 pm #157571Aye I’ve seen the message and read through abuot a hundred pages of BS.
Apparantly patching the game through your smartphone (my phones about as smart as I am I’m afriad) will work, and the other suggestion is a VPN connection.
I’m trying these instructions which seem to have worked for a few posters over there:

Install and connect ( you can also use any VPN)
Load the launcher, login and let it patch.
Make sure auto patching is off under launcher options.
Click engage and go into one of your characters.
Dissconnect from your vpn or private tunnel.
You will see that you are dissconnected, but leave the window open!!
Wait a couple of mins for your own broadband to reconnect.
Log back into game.
Voila
