i now appreciate the STO devs and/or programmers more. Let me start at the beginning…..
i believe it was bodgeup talking about playing a female character because he got tired of watching a guy’s ass running around all the time. playing a female character gives a much nicer view.
this made perfect sense to me, so when i decided to add an alt, i started a female sciecnce officer. a hot vulcan chick in a mini-skirt (Shar’Kali). very attactive and a much nicer “rear” view.
but what i really found to be a super nice touch is the way she beams in and out. the skirt goes first revealing her panties. i appreciate this kind of attention to detail.
i know it is just pixels, but who doesn’t like to see a girl in her panties?
maybe i’m perverted, but i love it. 😀
October 19, 2012 at 9:17 am #156707I think that was me who brought that up the other day. I historically make male characters because in an RPG it’s easier to identify with being a male and all… but I made a female science officer when I got my lifetime sub. I have to admit, I understand why men make female characters. It really is about aesthetics.
That being said, my female characters wear pants, and appropriate uniforms (even the Orion). It just doesn’t make any sense to me for my character to go on away missions, representing the Federation (or KDF) in anything other than a proper uniform. For me, professionalism is proper.
As for the beam out animation, I had a character with a beard. I find it odd that his beard beams out before the rest of him does. I mean where does it go? Does the transporter chief see this floating beard materializing on the transporter pad for a second before the rest of my character shows up? Just bizarre.

October 19, 2012 at 10:16 am #156709Honestly, i think the beam out effect is just from the way that uniforms are designed. Like in photoshop how a photo has ‘layers’, each piece of uniform part is a layer, whether its a skirt or a beard. Nice that the panty thing works out that way, but it’s probably not intentionally designed to be.

I wondered what made guys choose female toons as there chars? I play with a male toon but all my away team is female with big busts & short skirts! ( the TOS nurses skirt).
nice to have some eye candy! the KDF orion girls r def best!
