Here comes Tellarite Santa!

Two pictures.  One in Winter Wonderland with a snow man.  And another with his best friend, the molten snowman, Yarnek!  He stopped by Excalbia on Christmas Eve to deliver a gift of a Pizza oven to his friends Yarnek and Honest Abe.

This is a good question and one that over my time as a player of STO I came to the self realization of the type of player I am happiest at being.

I started the game with my TOS Tellarite as my main and exclusive toon.  All the time playing the one toon resulted in building up a pile unrefined dilithium and that bothered me.  I felt I had to get it all refined.  So… I started up alternates. Got up to six

But as I played the alternates, I missed playing my main. As I played story arcs and events, I kept saying to myself I wish I was doing it with my main. I figured I was doing this because the pile of growing unrefined dilithium was bothering me.  It turned out to not be a good enough reason for me.  After all, STO is supposed to be fun

End result, I cut down the alts and play them for only specific things and put most of my time on my main.  Now my main’s unrefined dilithium is piling up and probably no chance it will ever get refined unless I take a long break from STO.  It does not bother me at all now. Let it pile up.  I just want to spend my time on the character I enjoy most.

For those who enjoy multiple alts and doing the grind- great!  It is so important to play how you enjoy.  There are so many ways you can enjoy STO

I came to the realization putting most of my time on one character is how I enjoy the game.  Unrefined dilithium piling up does not deter that.

So my advice is to not worry about it. Figure out how you enjoy the game most and just do it. Do not let things like unrefined dilithium bother you or deter how you want to enjoy the game.

Thanks for sharing both link.  I never liked Picard much as a captain and found the Picard series awful.  I watched through all of them hoping it would get better, but got worse for me with each episode.  I think I will skip the second season.  Same experience with Discovery.  I really tried to like both, but neither series worked for me.  Just my opinion.

I would like to run a TOS themed event, it just a matter of how and when.  I have some ideas.  Maybe it is just set a date and time in advance and post it, and go with whoever shows up.

K-13 is my go to place.  I love the TOS atmosphere there!  I dock my starship at the end of activities there every day and do most of my banking/exchange activities there.  I also make plan on all the good stuff there I want to buy if I can get just enough fleet marks converted to fleet credits.

Coming back to this post after awhile.   Maybe 23c too restrictive  a theme.

Maybe just getting together at a certain time slot and running TFO’s as fleet members  would be a good gathering event.

This upcoming Saturday May 9, I will put out a call around 11am UTC (7am EST) on the 44-diplo chat channel and repeat every 30 minutes until 1pm UTC.  We will run TFO’s together with whoever is interested.  If we can get 10 people over the time period, maybe a 5 versus 5 PvP match.  A 44th (FED) versus 44th Assault (Klingon)  PvP would be something fun to do.

I am in Gamma Fleet.  I see there is an Events tab on the Fleet tab on the game screen.  I will try to set up something there. Never done this before.  I am also not sure if it is visible  to just Gamma Fleet or all of the 44th.

I have been in the fleet now for a few weeks and happy I joined.  I did some PvE action with fellow team member.

I have a second Starfleet character that I recently created and am using as well.  I would like to have him sign up for the 44th fleet as well.  The handle is Albavogg@diocletian284#8701.  Can he get an invite to join the fleet?
