There is a great and by great i mean amazing RPG group on youtube and twitch. They don’t have a name or title per se, because they are friends that just play for the love of it.
Hosted by Eric Campbell (almost always, look him up for the search) they created a show called Shield of Tomorrow (available on youtube and twitch) that used the Modiphius System for tabletop star trekking. Their ship, the Sally Ride is actually available as an admiralty card (go to the Narendra system) and on DS9 you can talk/sell stuff to stupid, sexy Zazrit- an NPC from said tabletop game.
The crew have another show called Clear Skies (trek based) that i hope will be implemented eventually into STO. Great characters played by even greater players who love role-playing all things trek and dnd. I love these guys, there isn’t enough i can say about their passion and love for roleplaying and expression of creativity.
Anyway if you’re looking for inspiration i highly recommend these guys. They’ve done trek, dnd, doctor freakin who and a superhero rpg (callisto 6) that i couldn’t get enough of, among many more.
Twitch is a great source of inspration. I recommend Geek and Sundry, Quetimes and of course the penultimate dnd group, Critical Role. Eric and co. has a special place in my heart though.
If you like puzzles then i have seen no-one better than Deborah Ann Woll (DAW) when she hosted Relics and Rarities. You may know her from shows such as true blood and daredevil, also available on YT and Twitch- R&R, not TB or DD obviously. It’s totally dnd though, DAW is a master at fun, exciting puzzles that she usually uses as an end-show predicament. Her DM’ing on the Stream Of Many Eyes (wizards of the coast yearly stream) was limited in time but not in creativity, the puzzle was basic so don’t look it up just for that. R&R, amazing btw with a lot of great 1-off players (every single episode in fact)- Charlie Cox or Kevin freakin Smith anyone?
If you’re looking for sci-fi and magic systems then check out exalted, eberron (dnd4/5e magicpunk), cypher system and world of darkness. Vampire the masquerade for example is great but they also have sci-fi magician/space sorcerer shit that is mind warpingly weird. Starjammer was an attempt by wizards of the coast (makers of dnd) to fuse magic and sci-fi but it really never clicked. There are rumours of a revamp this year though (fingers crossed).
Unfortunately i have other things to recommend but they are stuck behind subscription bullcrap that doesn’t make much sense seeing that the channel(s) are all but dead. Another source would be traditional games or /tg/ on 4chan but be warned, avoid the rest like a zombie infested plague, there is little good on that board. Just a lot of broken and twisted individuals. I cannot stress this point enough, don’t get mired into their bullshit you will never be able to wash it off and what you see you can never unsee (! {seriously}).
If you need a player or 1 off pc let me know. I’ve actually never played tabletop games but i’ve always wanted to. i know most of the systems i mentioned due to my love for worldcrafting.
Anyway i hope this helps but i realise it’s more of a shotgun and see what sticks approach. Sorry about that, it’s how i roll, pun intended.

June 10, 2020 at 6:51 am #427077I too have a corona story-
I got sick in November from what i thought was the flu but my lungs felt like they were being smothered. For 3 days i couldn’t sleep, if i laid down it felt like i was drowning. Now i’m a pretty stoic guy when it comes to illnesses, i get over most flus/colds in a couple of days but this one stayed around for a couple of weeks and the cough for almost a month afterwards. My cousin and his gf who i was living with at the time was sick for almost a month after he got it while the gf was hospitalized for a short time- she was pregnant and the veracity of the sickness really worried him and me. She didn’t get over her cough till April (!)
It’s been confirmed that Covid-19 was in Poland in November and although i didn’t go and get tested because such a thing was as yet unheard of i believe that’s what i had.
Research suggests that Covid-19 acts differently with regards to blood type and some are more susceptible to respiratory infection than others.

Stay safe people.
