Hi all! Shaw here,
After the release of “Legacy of Romulus”, I noticed that my bridge officers weren’t appearing on my starship bridge whenever I would visit the interior of my starship.
It took a while for me to figure out how to fix this, so I wanted to pass it along for the sake of anyone else having the same problem.
First off, though, for anyone who doesn’t know yet that you actually can visit the interior of your starship, here’s how you do that:
Look for the upside-down triangle icon on the far right, underneath your mini-map. Click that, and you’ll see a menu option named “Visit Starship Bridge”. Click that option, and you’ll be zoned to the interior of your starship. When you leave the interior, the game will put you back to where you were before you visited.
Okay, so, getting back your bridge officers, post-Legacy …
The first thing I did was unslot all my bridge officers from their stations in the Stations tab of my Character sheet window.
When you visit your bridge, most of your available stations on your bridge will be filled by random NPCs (if not every station).
Exit out of your interior, and re-slot your Stations list with appropriate officers from from your bridge officer list.
Visit your bridge again. The boffs you slotted should now be visible on your bridge. If not everyone is there yet, don’t panic. The game randomly places available bridge officers on the bridge “set”, based partly on the size and type of bridge interior you’re using.
Also, one special bridge officer from the early days of the game — the Photonic Medical Officer — won’t show up in your ship interior, no matter what. I have no idea why not.
From this point on, you want to keep exiting your bridge interior, and re-slotting your Stations slots with any and every bridge officer you possess — whether or not you would actually want those boffs at those stations.
Once you’ve got all Stations slots full, re-visit your bridge interior again.
What you’re doing, basically, is “reminding” the game of who your specific bridge officers are, for the purpose of populating your bridge interior.
Once you’ve slotted every boff you have in this manner, and visited the bridge with them slotted, you should be able to exit the interior and slot the boffs you actually want at their specific stations.
After this, the next time you visit your bridge interior, the game should populate your bridge set with all your available bridge officers first, and no NPCs unless you have spaces left over.
Hope this helps someone,
Shaw

This seems to be a random bug. Sometimes I see them. Sometimes not. Sometimes I see my ship. Sometimes I see my shuttle (even though I haven’t used my shuttle in months). Sometimes I am wearing my current uniform. Sometimes it shows me in a different uniform. I made a post on the STO forums some time ago, and I was not the only one with this issue. No word on fix that I’m aware of.

I find this bus particularly painful as my toons are very fashion aware and spend a lot of time with the tailor co-ordinating their looks with their bridge crew, and to then show up in the ‘family portrait’ in the wrong outfit is quite soul crushing….

I _think_ (not sure) that the appearance of your bridge officers in the start-up screen _may_ be linked to whether or not you also have your chosen officers slotted correctly under the Department Heads tab in your Duty Officer menu screen.
What complicates this is that I’ve been noticing my Department Head choices sometimes get randomly changed by the game — often after I zone. Although, now that I’ve made the game “remember” my bridge officers, it seems to happen less.
Hope this fixes things for you, captain!

June 13, 2013 at 9:47 pm #158752I think those officers at starting screen depend on your choice of ground team. I was alone at the starting screen until I slotted officer in ground (away) team section.

My own investigations suggest that you are absolutely correct. The boffs you have slotted for your Away Team are indeed the boffs you’ll see on your startup screen.
Thanks for catching this, and for sharing it here!

For what it’s worth, once I made the game “remember” my bridge officers, and after I made sure my Away Team default choices were set, the problem stopped entirely. I hope it does the same for you!Shaw
