- Why join the Mighty 44th? I played STO many years ago, but either the account got deleted or I used an old forgotten email address. So I’m starting new with a fresh account. I was looking around for active Fleets, and this one came up as an active group.
- Tell us about yourself: Father of 3, married, and a gamer for as long as I can remember. I generally game at night (9:00pm-Midnight), but occasionally I get online during the day if work is slow. I work for a tech company that doesn’t even have an office in my state, so I thoroughly enjoy working from home.
I’ve played almost every mainstream MMORPG that has come out in the last couple of decades, and some more beyond that. I have probably spent the most time in DAOC, WoW, Rift, SWTOR, ArcheAge, Eve Online, FFXIV, and Guild Wars 1 & 2. I’ve also dropped a few thousand hours into various survival genre games, 4X space strategy games (Space Empires, Stellaris, etc.), and space sims (Elite Dangerous, X4, etc.). Growing up I was a huge Trek fan, though I would say my favorites were Next Generation and Voyager. Honestly I’ve liked pretty much all of the various Trek shows over the years. Enterprise was the only one that I just couldn’t get into.
I’ve recently taken a hiatus from Eve Online and was looking for a new MMO to play, and I ran across a video about Jack Emmert coming back to Cryptic Studios. He mentioned STO, and I thought I would give it another shot. I remember playing it a long while back, but the new player experience back then was very bland and grindy. I don’t even think I made it to the ship command part of the game. These days though the new player experience has improved significantly, and I’ve had a blast with the game thus far. As with any MMO, I figured the community has a big impact on how good the game is for the players. I ran across the 44th Fleet while looking for a group to join.
- Do you accept the rules and regulations? Yes
