Combat pets now applying mother ship’s skin?

I was in an ISE pug when I seen someone’s oddy saucer with the full borg space skin. So I tested it out on my oddy and sure enough all the combat pets have the same skin as the mother ship. When did Cryptic apply this? And does that mean the pets now have the space gear set ability like the mother ship?

Seems to work on my MVAE. The skin shape still changes. I didn’t see anything to show they had the space gear set abilities.

Plus the pets don’t seem as suicidal as they once were.
